This is why airlines should have strict rules against these kinds of shenanigans. These people are crazy and should not be on the same plane as normal sane people.
Now I'm just imagining a flight specifically dedicated to the crazies and hoo boy I do not see that going well.
What if there was a Karen v Karen showdown and from then on this airline was like recorded or something so you could go on Netflix and just watch the chaos of the situation unfold and it would be a show called like “When Karens Kolide” and watch 2 30 year old women team up and curb stomp the flight attendants. I would honestly watch that.
I don’t understand why certain parents feel entitled to strangers possessions just because their child wants it. That is so bizarre 🤦🏼♀️ I could not imagine demanding someone I don’t even know to hand me their property.
I can relate to this.
Years ago when we went to spain, I was not sitting with my mum but I was sitting beside another boy around 10 -12, he saw I was playing pokemon on my GBA and offered to trade me some "Rare" pokemon [I say rare cuz in my game I never had those so I was excited] We play and I am laughing loudly cuz he was telling jokes and then, sadly he has to go cuz his mum moved a few seats. Then, came the voice of another woman, with a child who is not old enough to think let alone hold a console.
"Hay, give me your gameboy. My child is being noisy and I need something to quiet him down."
I said, being the snarky little kid I was.
"It's mines, you can't have it, please don't ask me again."
Next minute, I felt my GBA being ripped from my hands and , in that moment I just SCREAMED.
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY GBA!"
I snarled and she just laughed , my screaming had alerted my father who came over, ripped the GBA out her hands and sneered at her so intensley that she shut up straight away.
"You EVER so much as BREATHE on my daughter again, or touch her stuff. I will take those fake ass nails and SHOVE them right where the sun don't shine. Oh and go call the attendants, I already did , the MOMENT, you made my child cry."
I never heard a peep from her the entire trip.

Wow, some people are just really unbelievable. I feel bad for the kids who grow up with these kinds of parents because it feels like they're still growing up themselves.

I relate to hating air travel. Sometimes actually flying isn’t so bad for me, but I despise airports, they’re just crowded and noisy and they stress me out and overwhelm me
39 yr old southern gal here and I can attest to our spicy commentary of others.
I work in the early childhood education and care industry.... I've met so many Karens at this point I am numb.

I am.. fortunate?.. enough to have an uncontrollable air of "creepiness" about me. Not sure where it comes from, or what causes it, but it does cause strangers to avoid me. So I don't have to worry about situations like this. The "Karen" would more likely tell her kid to shut up, rather than make any attempt to come talk to me.
However, if I had been in the situation, I would stare the woman in the eyes, give her a grin as I slowly put a gummi worm in my mouth, then put my earbud back in, never breaking eye contact as I chewed.

On my first and only flight in my life, I was approached by some weird/pushy people. My aunt had bought me some birthday cake pretzels and I was happily(and quietly) munching on them for a but while trying to call myself. Someone comes over and tells me to ''stop eating my food so loud". Now, my dad, whom was right next to me, couldn't even hear it and didnt know I was eating them. We ignored them. Then someone was like "you should give me those. I like them more." Despite me beginning to put them away because I was getting tired. It isn't fun, so I know where youre coming from with Karens on a plane.
If I was on that plane with you and sitting maybe in front of you or something I would tell Karen to back off, sit down, and shut up. Then tell them facts and annoy them a bit ^^
Ok i know ur to nice for this but if that was me I'd sneeze many time in to the gummy worm ( fake sneezes ) & say do u want them now i have a nasty cold & then go back to what im doing or just sit on yhe gummy worms for a minute but thats just me

Just so you are aware. Snoring is a terrible terrible illness. the reason people who snore can fall asleep so quickly is that they are EXHAUSTED. They don't get enough proper sleep. And you can't bring a cpap machine onto a plane. There is no room for it or a place to plug it in.
Yeah, both my parents have a snoring problem and need something to help them sleep like cpap or something else. Its pretty unfortunate.

Jesus Christ that is horrible. One time when I flew I was a senior in high school I had to read 1984 for an assignment over summer break. I sat next to this kid wanted to know what I was reading, I told them it was 1984 and I love sharing books. Now keep in mind the kid is like 9 or ten. Then he asked if he could read it. I said, "I don't know, I'm reading this for school, but when you get home I'm sure you can get it from the library." But of course he went on and on about how he wanted my copy. His mother sitting next to him, told him to hush and she'll get him a copy later. Not even 10 minutes later he snatches the book from and thankfully his mother wrangled him.
Oof, at least its good to know his mother wasn't a Karen Character.
I feel like this would be one of those times you would just keep repeating, "What?" over and over again.
This story makes me cringe because I know this happens. I saw this happen with my sister on our flight to Florida with the family. My sister told the parent to f**k off and even got my dad and mom involved. I just sat back and laughed.
I'm not exactly a nice person, so if someone like that demanded my candy for their crotch droppings, I'd just whip out one of my excuses, like, "No comprendo." I know a couple other languages, so they might get Japanese, German, or just called a nasty name in Russian. xDD
LOL!! German or French would be tempting for me, but it would be so much more amusing to me to sign "[I'm Deaf]" and pretend to be confused by what she's trying to say.

This made me mad about how the adult Karen threw her own temper tantrum and refused to take no as an answer.
The 1 thing I hate is misbehaving children and parents who let them. Yesterday I went 2 a Dr.s appt., there was a mother and little boy there, she was letting him literally roll around on the dirty floor, scream 4 her phone, which she gave him, good gawd mama, if your child is going 2 do that when u bring him out, leave him at home, he will quickly get the message and start behaving. What's sad is that parents don't understand that. Too many either ignore the bad behavior or overreact to it when all you have to do is calmly take away any privilege they abuse until they get the message.

Omg I’m 21 going on my first airplane ride during thanksgiving break. I hope this doesn’t really happen to me. I hate when grown adults don’t use common sense or read the menu/fine prints.
Most flights are pretty routine. You might feel crowded in the small space and have to jockey for position with over head storage and armrests, but most people just keep themselves to themselves and try to get through the time the best they can. Most folks also have the sense to bring what they'll need, like entertainment or snacks, or are content with what they're offered. That said, it only take one fussy person to throw things off. If you find one, get a good video, we could all use a laugh. ;)

Cant say I blame the child, it's a parent's responsibility to teach children what behaviors are and are not acceptable, particularly those behaviors that affect others. A parent who allows a child to behave like this is generally a horrible person to start with, and just doesn't give a shit how horrible a person they are
