I live in a mobile home in the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley in California. It gets hot in this area. I want to go over my existing roof with a metal roof. Unfortunately there's no way to insulate the attic because of there is no access to the small amount of attic space roof without adding insulation to the top of the roof. I like the look of your product but I want to do a DIY project and I am kicking around a few ideas in my head to have the air gap necessary for the radiant barrier to work with air flow to also create a rain screen an possibly add some batt mineral wool from Lowes at the same time. I am also trying to get some overhang on the roof because in 1987 when the mobile home was built they took some short cuts and brought the roof just to the edge of the wall and I have had to replace some siding do to water damage. I did the storage shed on the property a few years ago and left the rolled roofing on and went over it with a layer of 30lb. tar paper and then cut the metal sheets to size and screwed the metal directly onto the roof. And I extended the roof line so the OSB siding is protected. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. My current roof on the mobile home is a white composition and the trailer is a 14'x60'. The roof is in good shape only having 16 years since the last new roof. Its that crazy heat in the summer that becomes unbearable and the AC has to run none stop. If this works I want to insulate the outside walls and use a radiant barrier over the existing siding.

Take a look at the install process in this video: ruclips.net/video/Q6dW5YFVQ0c/видео.html I think you could run the first set of battens up/down the roof using 2x4"s and extend maybe 12" past the wall to create an overhang. Then, run 1x4"x horizontal and attach metal roof with the www.RoofingFoil.com under the first battens. You will be amazed a the difference in how much heat reduction you will have.

Yes, and we have had many customers do this. The key is to get it TIGHT!! If the air handler is cold metal, you want to prevent the warm-moist air in the attic from getting to the metal or you will have a spot for condensation to occur. So, you want to wrap it, and seal it tight with the foil tape. Call us at www.BlueTexInsulation.com and we will throw in some free foil tape if you send us some install pics. If you don't need a full roll ask about some smaller pieces we have laying around sometimes.
