Fred, Please listen to Country Road TV , you tube version. Play Jack Greene " This One Belongs to Me". I think it could apply to 90 percent of us. I hope it brings back good memories about your Dad. In addition, you would play a great rendition of it. Glad you have such happy memories of your Dad. Best wishes, Bruce Armstrong
P.S. growing up in the 60s and 70s, I raised my share of Cain. Glad there were patient people surrounding me to know that I would somehow come out the other side and live through the mistakes of my youth.
I remember when Elvis died. I was driving my dad's blue GMC 1/2 ton and heading out to the field to replace him on the tractor. There was a big mud-hole I had to accelerate to get through it. And just as I came to where I had to accelerate I heard the headline. Elvis has died. It is funny how you remember things like that. I still remember when JFK died too--one of my grade school classmates, Laura, came by and told me when I was on the merry go round. Adrenalin helps stamp things in our brains it seems.
It was very nice to hear the story about your dad. Wonderful memories are a great thing.
