Unfortunately the list goes on. The short term answer Is get away from the cities. The long term answer Is emigration
There’s been a marked change since they threw open the immigration rules after Covid. My city has become a lot more unsafe and there aren’t enough police to handle it. They should never of allowed students to take their extended families. It was totally insane.
Most people don’t also travel just to make money, but also be able to access good healthcare, security, light, sanity this are most things you can’t in Nigeria… I’d choose Nigeria 💯if we had access to this basic amenities
I hope you will not regret your decision. If you can achieve this much in 5 years in a foreign land, I hope your country will put you to good use but we all know how Nigeria works
A time will come when travelling abroad to become a human will be archaic. He has made the best decision for himself. Nigeria is bad but people are still being successful. Its a matter of individual destinies and choices. What quality of life are you living where ever you are matters. Your food, your rest of mind, your thought state, if you live overseas and are sincere you will understand what l mean. Alot of us have returned home and many more are planning so as long you have your personal plans, equipped and organised.Nigeria still remains one of the best places in the world if you have experience the life outside. I prefer my people to be sincere and honest with themselves. If you have enough money to keep your life running, what the fuck will one be doing in a foreign land not your home. Its a matter of choice, for me no prestige living abroad, if you are fed up with the life out there, you go home and make best use of your life. Life is only once and better to live it in quality.

Well, your case isn’t the normal. Unlike most people you well off and have a choice. Most of us stuck in UK have no choice. We constantly on survival mode and it’s easier surviving in UK 🇬🇧 than Nigeria. Thanks for your video.
I came for studies currently in the UK, and I hear many Nigerians say they would never go back, that if nothing works they rather seek Asylum. But I don't feel that way, so I hide my thoughts bcuz it's the odd one. Nigeria has its issues but those that can go back and contribute their quota should do so. Thanks for your insight on this.
You are welcome. Even with the newly introduced post study visa in the UK, I will advise prospective students looking to settle after studies to rather look at countries like, Australia, Canada etc for studies. UK is a small country, quite saturated and is looking for all measures to reduce net Imigration, except for in demand courses. Their policies regarding Imigration can be quite unpredictable.
there are no basic amenities in nigeria and with the growing concerns of insecurity it is indeed quite concerning. I was an advcoate for returning back to nigeria but not right now. it is going from bad to worse.
Thanks for sharing this thoughts, I for one have never really been a fan of the U.K. from Day 1, so am not really surprised at all as there are better countries in the E.U. that Nigerians can explore such as France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, then for biz Italy, and Spain.
Yes but those countries you have mentioned are best for some certain age not for all ages. If you are above 30 or 35 years l would prefer the English speaking countries. You go to Europe and start learning sacks of languages before you can be able to make real progress there. I live in Germany and here language is everything and you won't learn that overnight. It takes time. Then consider your age and rate of making your dreams come through there. If you are approaching 40 years or already above 40 years of age please forget about the EU. You will regret that move, because from a distance all islands look beautiful till you arrive.
@@peterahanor5689 well you have a point in terms of the language as nothing good comes easy. Then. one of the best advise for any African migrant going overseas is to check how receptive those countries are to immigrants and the jigsaw puzzle will be easy to sort out for you
I don’t know. Very few people from africa are in those countries and they treat them strangely. Unless they know they are blx from UK or USA. That’s what I’ve seen.

You have left some very vital information out which is always the gap RUclips videos leave out. Who sponsored your education in the UK? Let’s start from there….
Some of the commnts allude to the fact that you must come from a wealthy home to do an undergrad and then a post grad. Not true at all. I know some nigerians that worked paid their school fees and graduated. Continued the same process and did their post graduate. Now they are looking for a sponsor to do their Phd. Going back to their country is not an option. Also once you finish your studies the government gives you 2 years post study to work etc for a fee. Its not easy but itd doable
I wish you success Ejike. It's never a do or die affair. Your decision is valid and I say this just in case anyone chooses to project their own reality on you. There are so many good sides about Nigeria that most Nigerians take for granted. They forget that what is far away can be deceptive. A visit or residence in the western world makes clear these advantages. A lot of our people glamourise the western world as a sort of paradise that it's not. They fail to see that just as the western world has its good sides, Nigeria also has a lot too which they probably choose to not or don't seem to see. Migration is great but should be done with clear, strategic and impactful as well as life fulfilling reasons. One key aspect about life's fulfillment is that money is not everything and there are so many factors that actually determines truly what a great quality of life is. Most Nigerians who migrate neglect this aspect and don't evaluate their migration decisions holistically and in long terms. One major problem is that unhealthy mentality of "escaping" Nigeria to a utopia believing that Nigeria will be what it will be at its own time while the Utopia embraces and nurtures them. The truth is that if we Nigerians want a great country, we can get it. This can only be done on the foundations of honesty, unity, integrity, selflessness, courage, knowledge and civility. Unfortunately, these traits are currently scarce in Nigeria. Most of our people have been and are held by the trap of "me/ my own". Our collective consciousness towards achieving a conducive, great and prosperous nation isn't significant enough to bear one at the moment. Hopefully one day, we as a people will tell ourselves the truth and do what's necessary to make our country better. This is my perspective, however to each his/her own.
Hope you have made it in Nigeria? Nigeria is hard for an ordinary man , you have to have money to survive in Nigeria even if you have the skills and ideas , you still need money to live comfortably .I want to believe you are from a rich home ,thats why you went back home.

I hope you get that visa to wherever you want to go. You will realize what this young man and others like him are saying is the truth unlike the deceivers who are all over the social media. Don't go to foreign country illegally or live there illegally. Especially now that many western countries are anti immigrants (most importantly black immigrants).

Good on you for moving back, I urge more of your fellows to do the same. They're being exploited in large numbers and finding out soon or a generation down the line, it is a con job and not intended to benefit you.
Good for him to return to Nigeria after studies. However, I will never blame Nigerians who go to and want to remain in the UK, other European countries or American, due to the dire economic and security situation in Nigeria. Nothing works in that Nigeria due to principally the corrupt and selfish politicians, leaders and bankers in Nigeria who have completely ruined the country. The very sad thing is that many modern day politicians in Nigeria enjoyed a very peaceful and economically prosperous country back in the 1970s and early 1980s where Nigerians drank water from taps not present day bore holes, supermarkets like Kingsway and Leventis, Nigerian Airways etc etc. But look at Nigeria today and how messed up the country is!!!! If you left because there are no ways to stay back then thats understandable. I wish you well in nija.
Thank you @mjnwosu. It’s not easy out anywhere. I am not rich in anyway, but I consider myself blessed in several ways (not necessarily monetarily). As I mentioned in the video, I was caught up in a pandemic - in an era of unfriendly immigration polices. I believe I made the right decision at the time. Success is not always about the location, you can be immensely favoured anywhere:)

Yeah and tell western corporations to stop stealing from Africa!!!!
England is a shithole anyways
When immigrants start leaving it means your country is moribund. Don't celebrate this video. You people migrate to Africa as well, call yourselves expatriates and parasitically use up resources in Africa.
You should encourage the british to stop bringing war to Africa. Pleaaaaasssseeee. To stop stealing the africains resources to give it to you, including the queen diamond.

The long term answer Is emigration

I hope you will not regret your decision. If you can achieve this much in 5 years in a foreign land, I hope your country will put you to good use but we all know how Nigeria works
Thank you. I remain positive and confident about the future
I really get disgusted by Africans who hate their countries
Nigeria works how you make it work. It's people that make countries. Countries don't make themselves.
Keep your negative view of Nigeria to yourself.
Let’s hope he stays there
I can't get anything reasonable from this video, i thought you will mention things that made you leave the UK or better opportunities you've gotten in Nigeria.

Speak for yourself. It's people like you in large numbers that draw Africa backwards.
Brother; I couldn't have said it any better myself. We have to do our research and more importantly apply for the appropriate visas to any country. I will leave it at that.

@@Oharadanny123abcdefg I'm sure that if you are a Nigerian, you can tell it better than i do.

Most of our Nigerians belittle themselves..
They think the asylum system is that easy to navigate. They should also check the proposed Rwanda policy for assylum seekers
I just to subscribe to your channel. Kudos to you son.

Research is paramount but you can know it all. You just have to take risks
Thanks for sharing this thoughts, I for one have never really been a fan of the U.K. from Day 1, so am not really surprised at all as there are better countries in the E.U. that Nigerians can explore such as France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, then for biz Italy, and Spain.
Thanks for sharing!

It wasn't really much of a choice. Since your visa/permit was expiring.
True, but there are other ways to stay back

Research is paramount.

I will never return to settle in Nigeria.!!!! I will never return to Nigeria. Yeah the UK has it's economic situation buy a least people can eat affordably, cloth affordably and have a national free health service (Uk NHS)
Well that’s why we need more people to move back to nija to help stop the corrupt government. If everybody leaves then it only gets worse.
