i hit the rev/speed limiter this is the true accurate top speed of my grizzly. other models/model years may vary. held it wide open throttle a while so the gps app could catch up to the quad's speedometer. i weigh 270lbs. yes the road went downhill AND uphill slightly and then to flat. yes i know there are many other 4x4s as fast or faster and it really doesnt matter to me nor should it you if you ride where it's meant to be ridden. it obviously had the power to go a little faster, but I believe in 2019 they geared them a little lower compared to previous model years. acceleration and all-around useable power is a lot more important to me than top speed. like and subscribe for more videos
a tune and exhaust will help alot, my 20 kodiak on 29.5 outlaws does about 65 and can wheelie no effort, if ur into power, get a exhaust and tuner it really wakes up these yamahas.

chose a yamaha over a can am cuz of canams shit reliability, iv had to tow back way too many buddies with near brand new ones because of belts and other issues. most ended up selling or trading theirs in. they are a blast though i will admit whenever running.
@@JesseCampbell-l7k I’ve owned 2 Canams and currently own a 2017 Outlander 1000R XT-P. You’re an idiot if you think they’re tuff! My old Grizzly never ate a belt the entire time I owned it. It never needed clutches or suspension upgrades either unlike my Canam. Canam has power…. and that’s it! The minute Yamaha puts out an 800 Twin or larger…. I’ll be selling my Canam! My Outty eats a belt every single year and I maybe put on 400kms per year! That’s pathetic!
yeah and? shows the mentality when you think top speed means much. what about the rest of the quad? the quad hit the rev limiter or a speed limiter, but it feels like it definitely CAN go faster, but on real trails it means shit. they obviously geared/limited it to that speed and the japanese are notoriously conservative, especially with quads. that 450 sportsman wont get to 62 as fast as the grizzly and that matters a lot more than top speed. that's the one and only time i ever went that speed on the quad and if you can hit that speed on a trail then its not a trail, its a road.
probably wont get there as fast nor is it as good of a machine overall imo. the quad obviously has the potential to go faster, but the rev or speed limiter wouldnt allow it. i think earlier 700s were faster on top and i say who cares? top speed isnt important to me anyway, i just wanted to see what it'd do once and i know the atv community loves stuff like top speed.
My 17 708 does 114kph now I own a 24 686 se way better bike no one needs to go 100 Kph. I wanna enjoy the experience and scenery not worry about flipping my bike or killing somebody coming up the road!!! As for bog I got no complaints and don’t mind getting plucked out from a can am. I got a rzr 800s if I want to go bogging!!!
It don’t do 114 unless you weigh like 112 pounds, my 16 which is the same as 17 does 107-108 maxed out in the limiter, I run for that speed for very long periods of time
@@darrell5363 apparently when the head was done on the 17 Yamaha had to make the piston bigger and it gave her more top speed I guess? It was done at Yamaha and it 100% done 114 on pavement going downgrade

The newer Grizzlies had internal gear reduction that's why the top speed is lower.
