Me riding the original Yamaha Wolverine

If you like this video please consider liking and subscribing. Thank you! A class of quad that never got the attention it should have, the wolverine was the original sport 4x4 and to this day is the lightest 4x4 ever made and that's what a sport quad, 4x4 or otherwise, should be... light. Even with the common oversized tires (25", stock is 23") it's still a fun machine and with a little extra p...

    i hit the rev/speed limiter this is the true accurate top speed of my grizzly. other models/model years may vary. held it wide open throttle a while so the gps app could catch up to the quad's speedometer. i weigh 270lbs. yes the road went downhill AND uphill slightly and then to flat. yes i know there are many other 4x4s as fast or faster and it really doesnt matter to me nor should it you if you ride where it's meant to be ridden. it obviously had the power to go a little faster, but I believe in 2019 they geared them a little lower compared to previous model years. acceleration and all-around useable power is a lot more important to me than top speed. like and subscribe for more videos

      probably wont get there as fast nor is it as good of a machine overall imo. the quad obviously has the potential to go faster, but the rev or speed limiter wouldnt allow it. i think earlier 700s were faster on top and i say who cares? top speed isnt important to me anyway, i just wanted to see what it'd do once and i know the atv community loves stuff like top speed.

      yeah and? shows the mentality when you think top speed means much. what about the rest of the quad? the quad hit the rev limiter or a speed limiter, but it feels like it definitely CAN go faster, but on real trails it means shit. they obviously geared/limited it to that speed and the japanese are notoriously conservative, especially with quads. that 450 sportsman wont get to 62 as fast as the grizzly and that matters a lot more than top speed. that's the one and only time i ever went that speed on the quad and if you can hit that speed on a trail then its not a trail, its a road.

    I’m not a can am guy, prefer Suzuki for the bullet proof-ness and low maintenance with good handling and quality. Nice review though. It’s a decent quad on a budget with solid power. I find it odd that rather than make another engine can am just detunes a bigger one. Not sure how I feel about that. They can do them though. I’m surprised you haven’t broken anything. I’ve heard everyone else has had these bikes self destruct. Some say they are “hardwired to self destruct” if you get the song reference, lol. Have you ridden it really hard or just moderately?

    • @powersportsenthusiast1986
      @powersportsenthusiast1986 Год назад

      i dont know, i havent seen these self-destructive tendencies said anywhere online about can-ams, or at least nothing i havent seen about other manufacturers. they all can and do have issues and with the way people ride them and the lack of maintenance most receive, its not hard to believe. king quads have broke (and prior to '19, were known for not having the strongest frames), foremans have broke, grizzlies.. no machine is bullet proof and all have potential weak points. all the can-am/bombardier machines ive had have been solid and the rotax engines have a great reputation for reliability. this quad has been ridden hard at times, but not what id call abuse. i dont TRY to break anything, but i ride them all how i want and this quad hasnt hiccupped. its seen wheelies, mild jumps, water, snow, dust, mud, wide open throttle on many occasions... its doing well. i had a kingquad 500, id personally take the outlander again, but i did like it. i like many machines. i hold no bias. the only machines that weve had consistent bad luck with in our own experiences as well as from all ive read and seen in person are polaris vehicles. keep in mind that its very likely most suzuki kingquads arent subjected to the abuse can-am and polaris quads are by nature, many guys submarine their can-am and polaris quads and with that you're bound to see failures. plus, with the power and suspension most of them have, you'll generally see more people ride them harder everywhere else too. i do not like the calling a 650 two different displacement thing either. they should have called them both 650s (or 700s) and call the more powerful one a "S" or something.
