@ in garages the code in Canada is to have the appliance raised 18 inches to the bottom of the firebox door opening and crash protection anchored in front along with the code compliant Chimney installed in accordance with the manufactures installation manual, I inspect 200+ installations per year.
That's crazy but them again you can't have a live plug in a cabinet with a closed door. So its not a big surprise i guss. Governments need to stop treating people like dumb kids and let darwin take care of what it need too lol

In Canada this would not be a code compliant installation . Homeade components are not acceptable . Insurance companies would not cover this .
