His long attack and defense are so entertaining but also good. I’m hoping this season he does great.
I've been invloved with saber fencing here in Spain for around 20 years and my comments about men's saber here might piss off a few but I don't care.
As they say, "pan pan y vino vino."
I have seen a really great generation retire, seen an even greater technically talented generation come behind this previous generation to be mismanaged and have their dreams bitterly shattered and even seen many of them retire, before the ones they were capable of replacing from the previous group! Then a sort of stagnation, at least as far as international results are concerned. The talent, skill, hardwork has always been there but something was lacking, perhaps funding or right mind set but that's not my job to know.
What is clear, is that Santi with or without insitutional support will put Spain back on the map for men's saber. Great video! Keep an eye on this kid. ¡SANTI EL CID!
