May you see God's light on the path ahead
when the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear
even in your hour of sorrow
the gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard
may hardness never turn your heart to stone.
May you always remember when the shadows fall-
You do not walk alone.
As a choir director myself, this is literally the prettiest choir song I have ever heard. Almost drives me to tears! I love it and so want to use it in the future!
High praise from a choral director!
I am actually singing this song in school and I'm a tenor and I really enjoy it
@@continue3443 ayo tenor brother🤘
If you like this, you will also like Elaine's "O Love" and "All Praise To Thee"
@@ivanmartinez2067 I'm a tenor as well! Borderline countertenor. And actually I have heard all her songs. I subscribe to her. 😁
This is my Covid quarantine song. My senior year has been ended prematurely. I may never get to say goodbye to some of my friends, and I will never sing again with my choir. This song reminds me in this time of chaos and uncertainty that there is a Lamp unto my feet and a Light unto my path, and that I am not alone.
I completely empathize with your statement. My senior year at college has been cut short too and I'm facing several severe tests of my faith. I'm sorry this had to happen to you, too.
Your Grammar and english is amazing for a senior! Your Comment, i can relate too.
@@kylargraf6762 Thank you for your kind words, friend. I hope things look up for all of us, and I hope you're well :)
@@Anna-er2px I am doing well :) Praise God! Sorry I never replied to this :). God has blessed me, and I hope He has you as well.
wow tmea 2021 did a good job choosing the music
they really did ! :)
totally agree:)
we probably all bullied them into picking good music after mount rushmore
Last year was w a c k but this year is just a big lullaby
@@aidendaniels2628 idk i really enjoyed rushmore
I’m very proud to say that this was the very last song I would ever perform with my amazing brothers and sisters for my senior year of high school and no other words could ever describe how it moved me that day on my last concert with them, thank you all so much for everything ❤
This song has to be one of my favorites chosen for TMEA all-state. It completely captures the hope during this time of covid. That there is a light that doesn’t go out, and that we are all in this together - none of us are alone.
I feel the same way. It's one of my favorites this year for that reason.
Is this video available without the lyrics displayed? I’d like to have it displayed on the screen while we sing it.
So beautiful and soothing as we recognize God’s divine presence in the words, lyrics, and Gifts 🎁 in its message, This is a gorgeous reminder of God who is always present, protecting, and the Providential Hand of God is Always and Forever integrated in the very fabric of our lives! Thank you for this gorgeous and soothing performance and blessing!
We sang this in Baylor Singing Seniors, and the words and music hit me very strongly, as my wife is suffering from dementia, and these words were just what I need to hear, to feel, to remember. We do not walk alone. And the music also makes this a very striking and wonderful thing to hear, and was very moving to sing. Thank you.
This song is helping me get through the sudden death of my wife. May have to put it in the spring concert.
My mother died too last oct. 2019. And this song gives me comfort and peace. God never cease to give me what I needed. Praise Him!
Sitting here in isolation from CV-19, and this is making me sob.I am a church music director with my choir on hiatus from the virus.
It is a sad time for all of us choir conductors.
I am in a synagogue choir, and we are singing on Zoom. Not quite the same!!
Ditto.
Seeing these comments from 2 years ago, and how things have changed since then, how is everyone doing now?
@@returnoftheromans6726 We are back singing, and I am so happy!!!!
I can't believe how beautiful this song is! Like 😭😍
This song reminds me of my siblings. My younger sister passed a few years ago, and my older brother the year after. The only thing that helped me and my mom through it was music. I felt like they got together in Heaven and showed us what music true, heavenly music was. I don't think they ever heard this song here, but they sure found it in Heaven and sent it our way.
This is my favorite song by Elaine, and I love all her songs. This is why God sent angels to herald our Savior's birth. Music truly is the rope that ties Heaven to Earth.
Music like this I a gift 🎁 from God. Elaine’s inspiration for this song and all of her music is directly from God. Aren’t we blessed 🥲!
Music 🎶 is how Jesus communicates with me. I feel my heart glow and soar with the eagle 🦅. I’m lucky because I can hear music 🎶 in my mind whenever I choose and music 🎶 comes TO me to comfort me on my life’s path.
❤️
This piece is a healing piece especially when what the world is going through right now. No wonder my choir director chose this piece.
I can’t be the only person excited to compete with this music this year
Hello you are not. This is my choirs finale piece
This piece makes me so lonely for choir singing again. In the fall of 2019 we did Elaine's O LOVE. It was so well received.
I didn't know that I needed this piece today! Defiantly going to do with my own choir!
I’m in tears with this exquisite rendition of a superb music by Elaine Hagenberg. I want to include this in my repertoire for the new choir I founded in University of Notre Dame. Kudos to the composer, to the conductor, pianist and of course to the lovely choir!
This music is a place of peace for troubled hearts. God bless your talent.
I think this is the kind of song Angles would sing!! Thank you Lord for giving me the opportunity to listen to this song!
I’m so glad your songs are in the tmea audition material 😩😩
This song is such a comfort for anyone who has lost a loved one. I sent it off to a friend who just lost her husband -- and I'm learning it on my flute ... when this pandemic is done, I hope to play it with one of our pianists at church.
I'm sending this sing for the same reason, my friend lost her husband 3 months ago😢
My chorus was to sing this in our upcoming concert - which is on hold for now. So appropriate for today.
How very beautiful. I am happy Psalm 73:23-28 thank you for thinking of me. Love Robin
If this doesn't touch your soul then you have my deepest pity. Enough to make a rock cry!
thank you for this beautifully sung song of faith to God
Oh, Elaine! So moves me to tears as I reflect upon the weariness of our lives right now in relation to COVID-19, social and racial justice, political upheaval, the difficulty of being a teacher right now, and the fires that are destroying so much in the western US. Thank you for using your gift!
I had never heard this before, now I want my school choir to sing it. I am a soprano 1 and this sounds absolutely beautiful.
As a music education major and 1st Tenor (and usually 2nd Alto because I can easily sing Alto), that low Alto note on "stone" at 1:07-1:08 just hits *different* and I love it!
I am a contralto and I love it too
And you will never walk alone . ❤ A beautiful hymn.
Stunningly beautiful, as so many of your compositions. We will start learning this during our time apart and sing it with joy and gratitude when this is over. Thank you
YOU DO NOT WALK ALONE
May you see God's light on the path ahead when the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear, even in your hour of sorrow, a gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness never turn your heart to stone.
May you always remember when the shadows fall, you do not walk alone.
Hallelujah. All I have is Christ, Jesus is my life. I believe that life is an endless hope with the Lord my God and Savior Jesus Christ and a hopeless end without Him.
Thank you for uploading this heartwarming and affirming piece, Nollaig Shona ó Éireann.
Thank You. Just what I needed -- the light of Christ ahead of me in my life's journey.
This piece provides comfort and peace every time I listen to it. Thank you for this gift to all of us especially during these trying times. You are a blessing from God.
Hello: This is incredibly gorgeous...it made me weep. I've shared it with my community choir. FYI: I've listened to the video several times, and there seems to be some kind of glitch at 3:17...perhaps it's just my computer, but I thought that I should mention it, just in case you were unaware. Thank you for your beautiful, beautiful music. Thank you for inspiring a humble choral conductor from Canada! :-)
This fabulous song brings me some sense of loneliness because since of 2020 i havent been alive, i live in this state where i know i am an adult but things hast happened to pass so quickly that i feel like i missed something but im not sure what.
Pray for me to not kill myself
Hold on! You do not walk alone!
The University Choir I'm in is singing this song and I was given this version to listen to and it reminded me of Lord of the Rings when I first heard it.
A resounding blest Amen, a beautiful all encompassing Shalom.
We did this with an orchestra a while back in March for a lent concert
I was standing directly behind them and saw about 10 people crying when we did this. One of my favorite pieces we have done this year.
Exquisite work of high and reverent praise, shalom everyone. 🕊️♥️✝️
There could not be a more perfect song for these times. Thank you, Elaine.
as a freshman about to audition, i’m in love with this song
I just found your channel in looking for recordings of Wexford Carol. Your music has an ethereal quality to it that no doubt brings peace to all of us who listen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your talent with us ❤️🙏
During this lockdown, this song brings me great solace.
Elaine, please, who is the choir singing? We really enjoy this -- are at Green Lake Conference Center for the annual church musician conference and just listened to it.
During this often stressful and challenging time for so many of us, this song has brought such comfort to me. My choir rehearsals are currently postponed and it's wonderful to hear such lovely chorale music. We sang "Through Love to Light" during our last concert.
Amazing!!! What a beautiful piece. The text delivers a message that is so beautiful and comforting. This is one of the most beautiful choral pieces I’ve ever heard in my life!!!
After two months of serious quarantine, this song lifted my wife and me to moments of tearful joy. Thank you , Elaine, for working so hard to share your great talent.
I love, love this song it always brings tears to my eyes this is my favorite piece you arranged Elaine 💜💜💜💜
I auditioned with this song
Stunningly beautiful. Thank you.
Just beautiful - the words, the music and the images!
So beautiful! Gives me hope that god can change me
Elaine Hagenberg compositions and the words of so many that have gone before are a perfect marriage of depth and beauty and solace for me and so many isolated hearts through this time.
This is just what I needed to hear right now during quarantine as I am away from the people that I love and my life is on pause. Thank you so much, God bless you Elaine Hagenberg and God bless anyone who is reading this
the key change is so beautiful my gosh
So happy to have subscribed to her channel.
Belissima MÚSICA e interpretação, !Gratidão! Gratidão! Gratidão!
Just what I needed......right now.
This is just lovely, thank you for sharing.❤
This is so beautiful! I am crying!
This songs literally brings me to tears as I remember my sweet days with my loving parents. I have to admit I have a lot of regrets, but as they say the only thing you can do is to accept that they are in a much better place and I have to learn to walk the path on my own. The path that I chose and the path which I know I will travel with them on my side.
Bless the Lord Oh My Soul. Perfect song.
So melodious. Wonderful! I enjoyed a lot Thank you for such a divine music and with a message to encourage and strengthen in spirit.
God's Spirit comforts through this stunning choral piece. Thanks to all especial Elaine Hagenberg. I
have used it to bless and comfort ones in deep grief. Blessings and Gratitude.
What wonderful breath control and dynamics! Definitely one of my favorites.
Beautiful...
How can I get the soft copy?
this is my favorite song from the 2021 rep :,) so pretty
Beautiful! Right before Covid hit my choir was about to perform Song of Miriam and it’s such a shame because this music is so gorgeous. It’s the reason I sing..♥️
Brings me to a happier time:)
Your song has always had a transcendent feel to it. Thank you and God bless. 🙏
I always love Elaine Hagenberg's music! Our Civic Chorale accompanist and her husband gave this lovely piece to our church choir a few years ago in memory of their veterinarian. She died last week for a fast-acting brain tumor, and our Civic Chorale and church choir will sing this piece together at her funeral on Thursday.
A blessing for sure! Thank you for sharing this gift from God. Times are dark, as shadows upon shadows fall and our hours of sorrow seem to stretch into days, months, years…my heart returns to this song again and again. I can’t hear it enough. It’s on my RUclips playlist and the playlist that runs in my mind. I can’t wait to sing it with my choral communities and for a world so in need of it’s comforting message. I’m so grateful for you, Elaine!
This is so beautiful-I am crying at its' poignancy!!!!
Any chance I could purchase the sheet music? I am a harpist and this would be beautiful. Thanks, Jenny R.
This song just keeps me floating, the beautiful harmonies and the lovely scenery, thank you! Jenny
Wow... I wish we sang this in our choir :'0 Such a beautiful song holding so many emotions!
Who's doing this song for all state choir? I'm so nervous bc it's my first time doing it and I'm in 10th grade any tips or advice for all state choir
Beautiful!! Thank you so much! God bless you! 🎵💖🙏
Okmea 2022. Frankly I was worried it would be boring but....once we got there, with all the parts together, with such a talented choir.....damn.
Just damn.
I sang this song in choir last year. It is a beautiful masterpiece!😭😭😭
This last year had too much darkness. This song has become my go-to to put me at peace and see some light. Thank you Elaine H. and to our Choir director Julianne who brought it to our church.
Incredibly moving! God bless and thank you...
Beautiful in every sense - my compliments to all involved and most especially to the composer :)
So glad Mrs. Christie chose this for our senior's graduation

Breathtaking. This will be used for the family processional at my funeral. Not that I intend to go soon but I am making my own arrangements and this is perfect. I LOVE Ireland and this melody - lyrics are perfect. God inspired for sure.
