Just when I didn’t think I could love all you wonderful LaLanders anymore, you are doing a Chateau Blackout in solidarity with the brave people of Ukraine! I’m already in tears from watching the magnificent President Zelenskyy address the US Congress in a speech for the ages. When he referred to Americans fighting the Nazis in WW II, my heart went to my father as a skinny 19 year old tail gunner flying 24 terrifying missions over Germany and how he would still be supporting Ukraine-and world freedom-in thought, word and deed, as do I. I pray my country continues our solidarity with Ukraine and as Tiny Tim said so many Christmases ago, “God bless us everyone!”

Stephanie, as I'm sure you know, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy came to my country, America, and gave a speech in our House of Representatives this evening. It was the most heart wrenching and inspiring speech I've ever heard. It was definitely in the tone of Winston Churchill's famous speech to our Congress during WWII. Zelenskyy's speech was so magnificent that it made me cry. I just couldn't help it. The man's commitment to his country's brave people, to democracy and to NATO allies is absolutely remarkable. So, a few hours after his speech, I put on your episode, Chateau Blackout. As soon as the episode started with you explaining that you were participating in a blackout in honor of Ukraine.... I started bawling all over again. I can't tell you how pleased I was to see America's allies also honoring Ukraine on the same evening President Zelenskyy was in my country to speak to the American people and our Congress!! It is my wish that the Russian people rise up and remove Putin from office so this war can end once and for all. My husband and I wish all of you at Leland a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄❄️☃️❤️🇺🇲🇺🇦
Cat, I happen to be from the region of Donbas, the part of Ukraine you hear very little about in your country. The part that's been shelled ruthlessly for almost nine years now (yes, almost nine years) by the Ukrainian (sic) troops, armed and trained by the United States and its satellites. The part that's also without electricity, heat, and water, where civilians are terrorized, maimed and killed daily by shells and rockets proudly made in the US (and in the UK too), sent there by your government, which had intentionally managed to pit Ukraine and Russia, throwing so many Ukrainian and Russian lives into this meat grinder. The part hardly anybody in the West knows about, let alone expresses solidarity with or turns off their lights for. Do you seriously believe that the US is defending democracy in Ukraine?! It is my wish that the American people wake up and, instead of clamoring for war/revenge/whatever-their-propaganda-tells-them, start questioning their own regime about its role in this horrific war as well as their media for lying and propagandizing it in such a primitive but apparently effective fashion. Start demanding real answers from those who made this war possible and keeps it going - they're much closer to you than you think. That, by the way, would be a much better - and much less violent - way to end this war.

Jared and Pavlina are gems! So creative and I think they truly have so much respect for each other is shines though. Absolutely love it on the gate and with LaLande in background matching it how can one go wrong? Pavlina is wonderful with her cooking skills and bringing new dishes to Lalande, she has added se extra excitement to the taste buds! lol . She has been through so much and am so glad after getting out of Ukraine she called lalande after she got to the point she could. Remembered how much she loved watching Chateau Diaries and knowing how nice it is and knew that she could volunteer, at least, and maybe have a home to begin again somehow? She certainly did, as she fits right in well! Think she has met many new friends and friends she never would have met who lived in Ukraine and in her own city and never knew until coming to LaLande! The live not so far away either! She is in the right place and at the right time I feel. Jared is perfect as he is the grandchild of the original owners for hundreds of years and has come back, to be part of it all! He has added much to it all artistically as well. The Christmas Carol placed the' blessing on the wreathe'. Love the tree in Michael and Ruths apartment and it should mean so much to both of them. Just that you went to all of this work with your mum to do this for them, is more than enough. But do love the shape of the tree too! I never knew about all the ornaments with such history existed before! They are darling. Even Nick with the bag over his head at the top was so original! Never would a tree have that ornament at the top I would doubt! Each one had such a memory to it!

Didn't know about the black out movement over there. In Nov had decided no christmas lights or decorations, just one battery candle in a window for hope. The blue and yellow heart now had Believe in metal across it and yellow/blue ribbons hang from porch. Truly don't think neighbors have a clue what I am saying.

Just when I didn’t think I could love all you wonderful LaLanders anymore, you are doing a Chateau Blackout in solidarity with the brave people of Ukraine! I’m already in tears from watching the magnificent President Zelenskyy address the US Congress in a speech for the ages. When he referred to Americans fighting the Nazis in WW II, my heart went to my father as a skinny 19 year old tail gunner flying 24 terrifying missions over Germany and how he would still be supporting Ukraine-and world freedom-in thought, word and deed, as do I. I pray my country continues our solidarity with Ukraine and as Tiny Tim said so many Christmases ago, “God bless us everyone!”
Every night I get more and more excited watching the goings on at your beautiful home. The wreath is spectacular!!!! And the tree in the stable loft is the best one of all . Full of simplicity and meaning . what a blessing to have such family and good friends. Happy advent!

Stephanie, as I'm sure you know, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy came to my country, America, and gave a speech in our House of Representatives this evening. It was the most heart wrenching and inspiring speech I've ever heard. It was definitely in the tone of Winston Churchill's famous speech to our Congress during WWII. Zelenskyy's speech was so magnificent that it made me cry. I just couldn't help it. The man's commitment to his country's brave people, to democracy and to NATO allies is absolutely remarkable. So, a few hours after his speech, I put on your episode, Chateau Blackout. As soon as the episode started with you explaining that you were participating in a blackout in honor of Ukraine.... I started bawling all over again. I can't tell you how pleased I was to see America's allies also honoring Ukraine on the same evening President Zelenskyy was in my country to speak to the American people and our Congress!! It is my wish that the Russian people rise up and remove Putin from office so this war can end once and for all. My husband and I wish all of you at Leland a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄❄️☃️❤️🇺🇲🇺🇦
Cat, I happen to be from the region of Donbas, the part of Ukraine you hear very little about in your country. The part that's been shelled ruthlessly for almost nine years now (yes, almost nine years) by the Ukrainian (sic) troops, armed and trained by the United States and its satellites. The part that's also without electricity, heat, and water, where civilians are terrorized, maimed and killed daily by shells and rockets proudly made in the US (and in the UK too), sent there by your government, which had intentionally managed to pit Ukraine and Russia, throwing so many Ukrainian and Russian lives into this meat grinder. The part hardly anybody in the West knows about, let alone expresses solidarity with or turns off their lights for. Do you seriously believe that the US is defending democracy in Ukraine?! It is my wish that the American people wake up and, instead of clamoring for war/revenge/whatever-their-propaganda-tells-them, start questioning their own regime about its role in this horrific war as well as their media for lying and propagandizing it in such a primitive but apparently effective fashion. Start demanding real answers from those who made this war possible and keeps it going - they're much closer to you than you think. That, by the way, would be a much better - and much less violent - way to end this war.

Pavlina is wonderful with her cooking skills and bringing new dishes to Lalande, she has added se extra excitement to the taste buds! lol . She has been through so much and am so glad after getting out of Ukraine she called lalande after she got to the point she could. Remembered how much she loved watching Chateau Diaries and knowing how nice it is and knew that she could volunteer, at least, and maybe have a home to begin again somehow? She certainly did, as she fits right in well! Think she has met many new friends and friends she never would have met who lived in Ukraine and in her own city and never knew until coming to LaLande! The live not so far away either! She is in the right place and at the right time I feel. Jared is perfect as he is the grandchild of the original owners for hundreds of years and has come back, to be part of it all! He has added much to it all artistically as well.

Love the tree in Michael and Ruths apartment and it should mean so much to both of them. Just that you went to all of this work with your mum to do this for them, is more than enough. But do love the shape of the tree too! I never knew about all the ornaments with such history existed before! They are darling. Even Nick with the bag over his head at the top was so original! Never would a tree have that ornament at the top I would doubt! Each one had such a memory to it!

I also watched President Zelensky’s address to the US House of Representatives and Senate. His speech was very convincing and solicitous, and the majority of legislators are supportive of Ukraine. Didn't know about the black out movement over there. In Nov had decided no christmas lights or decorations, just one battery candle in a window for hope. The blue and yellow heart now had Believe in metal across it and yellow/blue ribbons hang from porch. Truly don't think neighbors have a clue what I am saying.
