How did you get the ncy lowdown shock to fit ?? The guide that the rear brake cable runs through gets in the way of the lowdown and the ncy ten inch eyelet to eyelet..... It must not be a Gen 4 huh? Oh it's a Gen 1.... that answers my question
Yea that and some of the clones are different this Tao Tao is different then the ice bear 150 of the same gen me and another guy met up to do a ride and besides the passenger pegs the wirings was also a little different
How would the cops know the difference if you have a 150cc or 50cc..just curious..Could they tell it's a 150 if you didn't have plates..JUST A QUESTION NOT SAYING TO DO IT...THANK YOU
Yea they are good for budget mine lasted plenty of rides never actually broke down on me on any far rides either. Only thing when making the bike faster is the frame does flex on bumps
Is there any difference in frame size to fit a 50 or 150 GY6? Meaning, if I got a 50 could I easily install a 150 in the frame that came with a 50? And I know very little about the GY6 motors. Are there different case sizes and different sized CVTs? Can everything be swapped? Like can a 50 motor be rebuilt to a 150 by changing piston/cylinder/rod/carb/CVT to a larger set/size. I'm a mechanic but have never worked on GY6 or CVTs, just 2-strokes, wet clutch gearboxes, VWs, and modern automotive brakes and suspension. So, rebuilds and repairs are not new or hard for me to do. I do understand that the stock Ruckus 50/150 has a shorter rear frame and taller seat frame with taller front fork tubes and a taller rear rim and tire. To get a "Maddog" type frame you need to purchase extension pieces and shorter parts. Is it worth it to get a cheap used Ruckus/Chuckus 50 and modify it to a 150? Or is it easier/cheaper to just get a TaoTao type stretch Chuckus 150. I've seen a few distributors in the LA, CA area that have Chuckus 150s for $1300-1700.
Richard Taylor honestly cheaper easier to find a 150 Tao Tao or maddog ice bear. But as far as a 50 I believe u can build it up to 100cc. And as far as motor swapping most of the wiring is same. Motor mount would be the tricky part but shouldn’t be too too hard either. 150 is usually a top motor mount and 50 will be mounted on bottom
1000 is pretty cheap for a 150cc usually the 50cc is the one for $800-1000. Cheapest I see the 150s is $1200. Unless your buying used. Seats there website cajunmaddogs sometimes sells them
Yes I have. Not sure if mad dog seat is same or not but if it is. The seat is longer then a ruckus so u can fit a passenger.. not comfortably.. but u can do it
Telaney Shay people call these maddogs too but this one is from the company Tao Tao it comes with the passenger pegs its 1st gen style . The ice bear does not come with rear pegs.
Jacob Tucker my model bike came with front and rear pegs. Also came with a long seat to carry passenger I put the smaller seat to look more like a ruckus. You would have to grind off the paint and weld in small mounts for rear pegs
I'm getting a used 150cc, what should I look for? Will the title also indicate if its a 150cc for sure? Im pretty sure its a taotao cruiser based off the pictures, the owner doesn't know that much about it but he says its well taken care of and the images do show it that way. Thanks@@jdmgy689
Martin Dominguez make sure it has a title and not a certificate of origin. If it has certificate of origin. Because then the owner has to do all the paperwork to get the bike road legal. If it has title should be good to go. Mine doesn’t show 150. But title does show motorcycle.
Jdm Gy6 yeah I was looking that up. I’m in CA too, if it doesn’t have a title it’ll be almost impossible to register it. It shouldn’t be the MCO but an actual California title
@@jdmgy689 grooms are those little short deals? They look so uncomfortable I had a Roma and the leaning over just got so uncomfortable. The ruckus clone looks like it has more leg room to stretch out
Operation Z Project*cxv yea the rucks and clones are more comfortable for ride just not the seat on clone. But I’m 5’6” so even though Grom is small for a bike it’s got good room for me but uncomfortable with a passenger
@@jdmgy689 I'm 5'8 use to be 5'9 lol 140. Small bikes do me justice too. The Roma hornet was badass but your hand gets numb from the vibration. This thing I'm getting is a damn talon something. Looks like a ruckus clone but clearly not a maddog icebear. Don't matter. Chinese is Chinese and most require a certain level of upgrade to make the reliable and comfortable. I was looking at wholesaler companies in China and man, lol CHEAP DUDE!
Operation Z Project*cxv yea pretty much same I loved this lil bike I have plenty of picks and like i said it was a lot better than this before I sold it but lil things will make them reliable I would bring spare tools and parts in back pack on rides and usually used em on the ruckus’s that had swaps they were usually having problems on long trips
Thank you for your video and honest input. Very helpful to me.

True front suspension is hard...i am sure will cause lose screws and louder nose but its all good

Where did you get the rear wheel hub and tires at what the size tire
Jacob Tucker rear hub and wheel come factory on these clone bikes. And tire I got from the ruck shop. Size 130/70-12
I have a maddog 150cc the frames look basically exactly the same, have u ever had a passenger on the bike??,i want to put rear pegs on the .maddog
Yes I have. Not sure if mad dog seat is same or not but if it is. The seat is longer then a ruckus so u can fit a passenger.. not comfortably.. but u can do it
