- I bought this not working Karcher K3 (K3.540 1.603.100.0) pressure washer from Craigslist for $30. It originally wouldn't even turn on, so in this video, I attempt to get it working.
Looking for help from anyone with any knowledge that may help with this situation. - Хобби
This was kinda fun to watch, man! The 'let's see, why not' exploration approach. Lol. You did at least expose some things that the average DIY'er might come up against. Did kind of wonder why you didn't watch some RUclips vids first before setting off on the basics - watching you try to figure out how to turn it on and where to put the hosepipe in at first..?! :D Shame didn't get to the ultimate fix.
correct way to run a Karcher Pressure washer is to bleed the air out of the system before turning power on that's why you're hearing on off on off on off the pump don't like air, dose that help.
have the same unit took the capacitor out sprayed the connections with some lube and it worked! for your pump issue locate the 'unloader valve' lube and replace it...common problem with all pressure washers...
(1) capacitor maybe not function, (2) switch contact made of silver inside might be worn out (3) plastic button on off might be worn out inside. all plastic switch need to tear apart and fixed.
Good job! Just fixed mine.(74yo F👍.)
Cheers buddy. I have a similar problem. Good video. Liked and subscribed.
Skipped to 53.00. brilliant bit of testing. Funny.
Did you ever fix it. Took mine apart like you did? Your problem is likely a hairline crack in the plastic under the metal cover, causing the pulsating as pressure increases and falls.
You have the Luck I have in Life.
U have to turn the front of the wand to get pressure its pulling soap in low pressure
Your missing a blue spacer with like an o ring seal.
I have still no power to motor. The only thing I’ve not done is opened the motor.
karcher cylinder head has a small crack on the plastic. its gonna be an expensive part to replace. RIP :(
If you understand about plastics, then you will understand that they will degrade just replace it with a metal part if you can get one it will solve the issue, PS there should be a serial number to get the new part, have fun
Like a comedy sketch. .torque on start up will move motor needs anchoring .pulsating crack ?in high pressure head somewhere?
Hi , did you find the surging issue? we have the same thing happening
I think I narrowed it down to the high pressure head needing to be replaced. But, it was a 50 dollar part and I did not want to spend the money on a machine I could buy new for not much more than that without even knowing for sure.
Mine surged and I found a crack in a plastic housing causing a leak, it was actually on the seam of the moulding. Could also be the washers inside the piston head.
Water and electricity don't mix man, how you didn't get a fatal shock, I don't know!
The capacitor can kill if not discharged too.
And the only thing wrong to start with was an air bubble in the pump tyat vouod gave been eorked out by running water thru the system with the wand removed and maybe tilting the machine back n forth in different directions. Time well spent recording a video of how to make sure your pressure washer never works again.
Karchers are well known for having cracks in certain plastic pieces, why use plastic where a garden hose hooks up? They want it to fail so you can buy another one. These little electric pieces of crap never work if they have even the slightest leak from the main hose connection, that is a MUST FIX. Then we have these dumb a$$ plastic fittings suck, even brand new faucet washers suck. It's an old tried and true system but with brass and copper, not with this plastic junk that has imperfections in them from the factory mold that leaves high or low spots in the finished product. These things don't build a ton of pressure like a gas powered PW does, yet it's still enough to crack their cheap a$$ plastic pieces, or often they use a diecast white metal that's as crappy as plastic. Everything we buy is an absolute POS these days, even more expensive things...
