Plus a chest of drawers and filing cabinet in my walk-in robe space (which is only 1m square, so barely counts).
I had to sleep on sofa cushions on the floor for a small period of my 20s. I was terribly embarrassed about it and threw them out when I moved. I deeply regret it because it was honestly comfortable as all hell.
I have long wanted to make a bed out of two sofas facing each other. 🤔 Is it: a- "you got rid of your bed AND husband"... or b- "your husband and you are sleeping on the floor " ??? Because with option a , you would regain a lot more space...
I have for years slept on a folding foam mattress on the floor of my living room. It is very comfortable, and is put away out of sight in a closet during the day. BTW, I am 70 and a minimalist who has no need to sleep up off the floor on a bed which is used for a small part of each day.
That’s how a lot of people live in Japan. I lived there for 2 years in a two room apartment. The rooms were separated by sliding paper doors. One room had the traditional tatami straw flooring with spacious closets with wide under-storage. This is where I kept my futon, blankets, and pillow during the day. Beds are popular in Japan, but the more minimalistic futon continues to be popular today. As a bonus, embracing the old school style meant my apartment was able to look super stylish and feel normal to spend time in when not sleeping
I'm on a folding foam mattress now, too. I feel like I sleep more deeply than I did on traditional mattresses and I rarely sleep in or spend the day lounging about in bed.
Lies😒 I just went to his Tik Tok. Some people have a Minimalist design style. I read many comments here of people who slept on a pad on floor and put it tucked away in closet during the day. They are very comfortable, from what I read. Are they helpless too? 🙄 How do you even know if he saw this video?
My former room was exactly that size, just with the door located where that weird corner thingy is. In that room, I had a bed, a desk, a closet, and an armchair. I'm very happy to have more space now, it wasn't ideal, but it was very much possible and most of the time it didn't feel miserable.
Our box room is 2m by 2m it has always been a bedroom with a variety of beds, wardrobes, bedside tables and desks with chair plus entertainment unit with a big TV. It only has one usable wall to put things against. The others have limited space available. It has always been about some folding furniture and using vertical space.
He can get a Futon or Daybed easily and opt for a Smaller desk to optimize space even more‼️Another bed option is a Murphy Bed it’s like a built-in that lifts up when not in use & pulls down when needed…The great thing about when it’s up it can double as a Desk
Id get a Thai masaage bed, or floor matt style bed that can fold or roll up. You can layer multiple duvet blankets and make them into a sort of twin bed, then roll them up and put them out of the way. There is also a loveseat sized fold out seating. Or an extra wide lounge chair with wide ottomon... it was super comfy to sleep on one of those, and Im a princess for comfort. We used to just layer quilts on the floor when family came to visit. Pallet beds.
@rambunctiousvegetable I can be interpeted that way bc "Black ppl are poor and can't afford stuff" ect. but that's probably not what op meant... Could be wrong tho...

No wardrobe. I kept all my clothing in my suitcase which was put underneath the bed.
This is next level "when you come to a guy's place and he has a mattress straight in the floor" (not a Japanese futon)... Bro... If you can fit on the floor.. you can fit a bed between the floor and you. This is crazy, just admit you like floor-sleeping if that's the case.
