Please keep doing videos on the breakdown of that Nike commercial from Oddfellows. It's one of my favourite pieces, but I had no idea how to tackle it until you started deconstructing it.
I've found this handy hotkey tip for creating keyframes in a quick way: Let's say that you want a keyframe on 'Position'. Normally you'd type 'P' and then click the stopwatch icon on the left. But you can also do the quick way by pressing 'ALT' and 'P'. It will open the position property and place a keyframe at the playhead. This also works with 'Scale', 'Opacity', 'Rotation', etc.
Love your tutorials, my passion is photography and now i got interested to motion graphics, im always having fun while watching and doing your tutorials
Been watching your videos for a little bit now, and I love the way in which you dive straight in, and don't shy away from anything that might be complex. I really leave every video with an even better grasp of AE 😊
Hi. I know that the comment is not the first freshness, but I want to say a huge thank you for these guides. I hope you will continue in the same spirit and everything will be fine for you.
thank you so much for this tutorial, it really is amazing how kind people like you are to make others basically learn for free. As a graphic design student who often does video work i really thank you!
Love finding old vids I've missed, honestly curious how your mind works and comes up with these ideas. Maybe idea for a video, a thought process and 'how an idea sparks and gets made' etc... ?
Love everything about your work! Your process, creativity, problem solving, animation, and style is so inspiring to me! Keep these awesome tutorials coming!
i love this channel. these videos just do something to my heart. I just want to edit a million videos right now and blow people's minds. Yep, these videos are THAT inspiring.
Not sure if you will see this, but can you do videos about some of the "Nightmare Clients" you received in the past. Maybe do a series discussing the experience and how that affected you as a Motion Graphics Artist. Also great work as usual!
I really like your videos. I've done an advanced training in AfterEffects in early 2020 and your videos help me refresh my knowledge and give me so much inspiration
youre blowing my mind Idk how i came across you since I only just started after effects about a month ago. with my limited knowledge, youve blown my mind haha
4:04 I find that much easier than parenting all layers to each other is to simply achieve the same effect with an expression. I would start by setting a Slider on a single layer, and calling it "Scale Amount." Let's say I put that on Null 1. Then, in this comp, I would use the following expression on the scale property of all layers: thisComp.layer(thisLayer.index+1).transform.scale * thisComp.layer("Null 1").effect("Scale Amount")("Slider") / 100; I usually get the scale amount by pick whipping. Once you've written that into one scale property, you can copy the scale of the affected layer and then paste into all other layers. You now have a Slider that will cascade your scale amounts. I often do this for delaying objects in the same comp, too. Instead of using the slider as a percentage, I use it as a delay, and use .valueAtTime(time-framesToTime(~~Slider)
I just love this style!
Random spinning things just makes everything look a bit more creepy
Thanks so much! Haha, I just can't help myself.
@@BenMarriott Specially with the rotating baby, it reminded me of an American Horror Story promo they did lmao

This looks very cool. We have not seen this effect used much before. What would you say is the most important part of the process?
Legend
2:56 wish I would’ve known about that shortcut years ago
