- Suella Braverman has criticised the Conservative Party’s record in office, arguing the party allowed immigration to “spiral out of control” and supported “farcical gimmicks” like the proposed smoking bans.
Speaking over Zoom to the Popcon event, the former home secretary started by acknowledging the scale of the party’s defeat. She said Conservatives had “lost across all types of demographics”.
Criticising the party’s missed opportunities while in government, she said: “We were going to use our Brexit freedoms to stop the waves of illegal migrants landing on our shores; we were going to cut taxes; we were going to lower overall illegal migration; we were going to stop the lunatic woke virus making its way through the British state.”

Firstly, she was brought back as Home Secretary by a subsequent Prime Minister after a resignation for leaking confidential information.
Secondly, all her legislation was given ministerial assent (Rwanda, Public Order bill etc), her (many) failures were due to losing in the supreme court and the House of Lords, or just sheer ineptitude, such as the Bibi Stockholm.
Lack of government/party support is arguably (if not demonstrably) the one thing she didn't lack.

I live in Leicester and the city is a lost cause . My old voting ward of charnwood/ spinney hills was something like 80 - 90% islamists .Native english was something like 2 %. I know when someone speaks out the truth, people don’t take it seriously. Our House of Commons is equal to a mixed vegetables dinner dish. But unfortunately , too many different kinds of vegetables from different backgrounds and different soils, different ways of looking after and using poor ingredients and methods, takes the flavours away from the dish itself.
