    I am actually working on my low point with a PGA pro at the moment and i have to say the towel idea is so simple but brilliant it has worked fantastic for me, thank you for this gem of a tip, just subscribed cheers.

    I've been trying to fix my low point in my swing for quite a while, it seems like I always hit behind the ball. This is the first time I've heard about focusing on your rear elbow moving forward (I've read that you need to get the elbow into position but I had never figured out how to do that). Focusing on getting the rear elbow in front of me, I just hit about 50 balls with different irons and didn't hit behind the ball on a single shot. This felt amazing and I had no other swing thoughts and It felt more powerful. Thank you for that feel, now I have to practice and take that to the golf course.

    Just found your channel and enjoying it and subscribed. I strike thin more often than not, and during practice swings on the course on range, I struggle to even touch or skim the ground with the club head. So I really never take a divot and although my thin shots are usually playable, they really annoy me and effect my confidence, and of course damage my score. I'm sure there can be numerous causes, but have you any thoughts please? Thanks.

      Coxy1980UK thanks for your interest. Doing the drill in this video regularly will help you get a steeper angle of attack and therefore start taking more of a divot. Experiment striking tees in the ground also, and play around exaggerating divot depth. Don't be afraid of making mistakes with this as getting things wrong helps tremendously to get things right and you will improve your depth perception by trying to take different amounts of earth.     Is your swing thought to move your rear elbow or does your shoulder and lower body moves your swing arc forward?

    I have always had trouble with this, but 3 to 5 inches seems like a lot. If the bottom of the swing is inches in front of the ball then i would seem I really have to start with the ball farther ball in my stance. Is that true.

      Glenn Watson if you set the drill as described and practice it regularly it has a good chance to improve your strike. Moving the ball back can actually lead to more leaning back and less weight shift which is the opposite of what you want.👍

    Where does your eye aim or look at? Do you look at top of the ball? In front of the ball?

      Van Phillips Golf thank you. If I look at back of the ball I keep hitting low pt right there or 1 inch behind the ball. I tend to unhinge early. Hi Van, do you provide online coaching service or service video analysis of my swing vid?

      Albany Fx move your ball position back in your stance a few inches and exaggerate the weight shift onto your front foot in the downswing. Make sure you set up your towel station as in the video and stick to the drill

    Three to five inches! With respect, I don't understand this. The ball is on the ground. There us dirt below the ball and in front of the ball, If the club head is still going down after contact with the ball it is going to impact the dirt. An arc is circle. If the ball is three to five inches behind the point where the club-head finally started rising that seems impossible. I've seen pros take large divots, but these divots are mostly grass. What you are describing would not allow for a follow through. I know I am probably wrong, i just don't understand how I am wrong.

      Glenn Watson the low point is after the ball if you’re a good player period. If it’s before the ball you will fat or thin it’s that simple. If fat and or thin shots are a problem then this video will help you if you just do the drill👍

      @@vanphillipsgolf6651 I see that you can't hit the ground before the ball, but I don't get how you can hit the ball first and then the ground three inches later. I just can't envision it. I will give your drill a try. Thank you

    [memo] * 스윙의 최저점을 확인하는 방법 :
    자신의 스윙 Arc에서 스윙최저점이 어디여야 하는지에 대한 이해가 없으면, 공을 견고하게 타격하는 데에 애를 먹을 것이다.
    그 컨셉을 알고 몇가지 간단한 Drill을 익히면 유익할 것이다.
    스윙은 기본적으로 타원형이다 - 완전한 원이 아님. 이 타원에는 최저점이 있다. (믿거나 말거나) 그것은 볼 바로 뒤에 있는데...
    이것에 대하여 약간의 혼돈이 있어서.. 어떤 사람은 볼 바로 밑을 최저점으로 여긴다. 실제로는 볼을 지나서 타겟방향으로 3~5"에 있다 (7.6 ~ 12.7 cm). 이곳은 볼을 치고 난 다음에 divot 이 생기는 곳이다 (iron 샷의 경우를 말하고 있음).
    우리가 체중이동을 하면서 볼을 치기 때문에 최저점/디봇이 공을 지나서 있는 것인데.. 체중이동이 늦게 되면 체중이 뒷다리에 남아있어서 공의 뒤땅을 치게 된다. 세계적인 선수들의 아이언 샷을 보면 impact로 가면서 왼발로 체중이동이 뚜렷이 되고 있는 것을 볼 수 있다.
    손목의 hinging이 너무 일찍 풀리면 뒤땅을 치게 된다. 그래서 체중이동이 필요하게 되고, 또한 손목의 힌징은 최대한 늦게 풀려야 한다.
    * 다운스윙을 하면서 중요한 첫 번째 하나는 ; 오른쪽 팔꿈치를 driving forward 하는 것인데.. 오른쪽 팔꿈치를 공을 향해서 오른쪽 hip 앞을 스쳐지나갈 때까지 driving forward 하는 것이다. 채를 던지듯이 오른쪽팔꿈치를 drive forward 하는 것인데.. 채 없이도 맨손으로 연습할 수 있다. 이렇게 할 때에 일어난 바람에 의하여 펼쳐둔 towel이 접힌 것을 볼 수 있다. 오른쪽 팔꿈치를 이렇게 drive 하면 채의 진행을 지연시킬 수 있고, 볼을 지난 최저점에 타점을 가져갈 수 있다. 이렇게 오른쪽 팔꿈치를 외전하여 공을 향하게 함으로써 백스윙 top에서 오른팔꿈치의 외전없이 바로 던지는 잘못을 막을 수 있다.
