Y'all can laugh, but the car I drove before my 05 mustang was a 2012 Prius. Let's just say I'm very appreciative of my Stang because of that past traumatizing experience.
I had an 95 eclipse RS, from there I got an 05 GT, regretfully I was involved in a tbone collision, truck ran a red light and destroyed my car...now I have a 2016 Mustang GT which was the very 1st car I bought brand new
I just picked up a 2006 Mustang GT (black) with 30K miles, the other day. You could eat off of the engine. It's like new. So happy I finally pulled the trigger on this car at age 58.
I'm so jealous! Im looking for a mustang GT but I'd have to finance most of it or I could buy an 04 is300 cash im not sure but maybe I can come back to a mustang later?
Like you Scott, I bought my 2012 GT premium convertible 20,000 km 5L-6spd at 53 & it was the best thing I ever did ....love the S197’s hey all mustangs are awesome!!!
Scott Oakland .... Don't feel bad, 72 here and I too am looking for one of these. I'm an original owner of a 68 1/2 Cobra Jet which I bought when I got home from Vietnam and raced a few years in SS/EA. Being younger and not as able back then I sold it to buy a house. It's still here in Ct. and even if he did finally decide to sell it (I do call and check with him every now and then) I probably couldn't afford it. Anyway the 05-09 GT's are really nice looking cars, kind of partial here to the classic Mustang look I guess.
Nick J it depends on your credit, when i was young they screwed me with 24.99% apr now that im in my 30’s i got my 2014 mustang gt for 21k with 35k miles and my apr is only 6% you just gotta do it right.
Had a 2006 Mustang GT named Beth for my first car. Was the 2nd proud owner. I learned how to drive manual in this car as well. But I took care of her when I had the time to do so. She helped me learn how to change an alternator and battery as well. But I decided to sell this thing to someone who had the same face I made when I saw this car. All in all I had zero regrets buying this car. But I've moved on and passed it onto someone else who deserves ole Beth.
Bought my 2010 4.6 with 100k miles and have put 50k miles of "spirited" driving since then and I've had zero problems with it. The 4.6 is a bulletproof engine for sure.
Andrew Izaguirre Im 19 as well. Several months ago I bought a 09 mustang for my at the time girlfriend. After we split up, I took the car back. I was never a fan of mustangs, now that I have experince with one, I love it.
"you only get .4 more liters with the 5.0"........yes, and about 110 more horsepower.......and a better designed engine........and a better running engine......and an engine that likes boost more......you cant compare the two.
@@delta.o7 yeah, a base delux coupe that's been dogged it's whole life. I'm a Ford guy through and through. Ain't no doubt about it. And I love that Ford now has a formidable answer for the venerable LS. But I love me some ModMotorMafia. There's no exhaust note on this earth that compares to a mod motor and I'm being deadass serious. I truly believe the 4.6 is the greatest sounding v8 ever built and that's part of the emotion I get when I sit down, hear that famous 90's early 00's Ford starter fire it up and then that unmistakable exhaust note. The 5.0 just doesnt have a great exhaust note. 3v premium gt vs 5.0 base delux, I'm taking the 3v all day. Love the sound, love the emotion. The 5.0 is better. It just Is, but it is also a lot of fun surprising people with what they think is just another shitty 2v or 3v. Id like to own a 5.0 s550 someday though. They're BMW territory price these days with superior performance.
ive had nightmares about driving stick!!! idk how to and the first time i tried to drive a stick was in my old job in a auction. I got in a 2013 shelby gt500 and pressed the cluth and turned it on and the car jumped to the front so fucken fast idk how I didn't hit the car infront of me!!! I think I put the handbrake on😂😂😂 what a nightmare. Never ever going to drive a stick!!! again. I love autos and they're the future and present of the fastest cars on earth!
I have a very similar story. Always wanted the 05-09 and found one appear on my lot with 25,558 miles a couple weeks ago. My team was really great with the whole process and really helped me out, cheering me on as I learned stick. Easily my greatest purchase to date!
I was afraid of the 100k miles mark but after seeing this video it's gone, I currently own a 2009 V6 premium and I have it at 125k miles and it's running good. It has plenty of aftermarket parts that I can transfer to a GT, so that's a plus. Hope I get a 4.6 soon 🤘🏻
@@green3488 dam bro that was 6 years ago. Since then I already been through 3 coyotes, a 2014 and two s550’s. Now I currently have a 1996 GT as a project car
Dude I love your videos, keep it up! The quality and effort shows on your videos, they're really fun to watch and your the reason why I'm keeping my 2006 mustang gt instead of getting a 5.0 you showed me how to make my mustang sound how I wanted it to, and that made me love my car again.
I am so happy that my videos can benefit you! I have so much in store to show you in the near future. I want to represent these awesome rides. I hope you are with me for the journey
bought a 2006 Mustang GT with 130k miles on it after my V6 2007 Charger blew up on me a second time and I've fallen in love with it, just being able to shift gears puts a smile on my face, wanted a Foxbody but couldn't find a manual one, S197 was a close second though
6:07 “660,00 (units sold) which demolishes every other generation of Mustang.” Tell that to the first generation Mustang where over 1 million were sold in only 2.5 years from 1964 1/2 - 1966. 6:37 “Did you know that the S197 has the largest amount of aftermarket parts than any other Mustang?” Multiple sources have stated otherwise: The SN-95 has the largest amount of aftermarket parts.
I agree. Buying a well maintained 100,000 mile gt is a safe bet. Regular maintenance is key. I'm looking at getting a 1998 to 2002. Trans am or camaro with the 5.7 ls1 for $$$ this fall. Mine will be purchased with 100k or so on odometer. Can't wait anf great video
I used to own an 05 Mustang GT for 4 years and I recently bought an 2018 Corolla SE. I'm satisfied with the change. You reach the 158,000 mile mark, I started to run into problems and even replaced a transmission and clutch. I didn't like the maintenance
To anyone considering buying a 3 valve, I owned a 2 valve, 3 valve and now 4 valve. While I loved my 2v and 3v, in the long run the 4v is actually cheaper if you want horsepower and styling. For the price of Boost on your 3v, you can already buy a good condition 4v with with exhaust upgrades and not worry about stressing the engine. Also its frustrating if a 2v and 3v with basic bolt ons get their lunch eaten by a stock 01-02 LS Camaro, or sometimes even the earlier LT1 Camaro with bolt ons.
Nate, this is your best video ever. Thanks for everything you do and all your hard work. You bring lots of enjoyment to millions of people. I now own a 2008 S197 "Poseidon" because of you. Thanks.
Dude you literally made my day when you said 200k plus for mileage. You got on the topic and my body felt like needles bc I’m looking at my dream car as well (2008 GT with 155k miles) and it’s something I really want but am very cautious about due to the fact
As long as you do the basic maintenance oil change, spark plugs, etc. they will run for a long time, my sister's 96 v6 is still running with 325,000 miles
Luis Sauced I had a 2001 with 262,000 miles that ran phenomenal and looked like a car with 100,000 miles or less! Some girl ran into me and wrecked it and her car, I was ticked!! I had a 1986 mustang that had 587,000kms on it (Canada) which is 365,000 miles! I removed the instrument cluster as proof of the mileage and kept it. It was my first car and got me hooked on Mustangs. I'm on my 4th one!!
Was looking at an 06 GT premium in race red with K&N intake and borla axle back exhaust at a local dealership. 32,000 miles listed at $15,500. I was saving up for a down payment on it and i noticed one day it wasn't on their website anymore. I called them up and they said someone signed on it. I don't think I've ever been more bummed
Turtle Powers if you wanna listen to my advice; Dont! The moment you put mods on it, its no longer the beautiful daily driver! It becomes the once a week car
I finally purchased a mustang after wanting one for years as a college student in spring 2021. I was able to grab an 08 V6 auto with 183k miles for pretty cheap. Other than a few common issues I overlooked when buying it, the car has been unbelievably reliable and I'd drive it across the country if I had to (even at its current 199k miles). Recently I've been interested in getting a GT of the same year model with a manual that I can keep and put money into to make it exactly what I want.
Good call on the plugs bro, the 2 piece plug is a MANDATORY part to swap out, that is the 1st thing I did on mine, i loosened it a 1/4 turn, then sprayed the PB blaster inside and let it sit for a day, that is a 100% guarantee they will come out with no problems!
Yeah you just needa let them soak in some rust thinning solution and they will pop out. I changed mine at 60k miles, let them soak for 20 min, and they popped right out
I'm buying an 05 GT from my old co worker here in a few months. I don't know the mileage yet but I do believe it's over the 100k mark, but I do know he takes very good care of his cars, he's kept it clean, maintained, and he does drive it hard time to time. But it's still a happy running classic muscle, and it has no issues. I have a 2016 focus with 18k miles as my go to work car, this GT will be my weekend/fun car. It's got the 5 speed manual gearbox too as well. It will be my first manual. It's a really clean car and I know it runs strong and happy.
Glad I came across this video because I been thinking about getting a Mustang myself bro. In my opinion, the 2005-2009 Mustangs look the best but all the other Mustangs after that look deformed lol
Just catching up on these Videos now, but I love them & your enthusiasm for Mustangs!! Back in 2014, without any pictures to look at, I drove 2 hours to a Dealership that was selling an 06 Mustang with 19,000 miles on it. They brought it out & it was a Black Fastback with the Pony Package, I couldn't believe the Steal I got it for. Still have it today, & with even more American Muscle mods to put on it & with 158,000 miles on it, it drives just as great as it did when I first bought it. I'll replace the Transmission when it's time but I'm never letting go of it. The s197s are truly the best!!
i searched for a long time til i found what i wanted, mine is kona blue metallic with blue stripes. when i was looking i was specifically looking for a 2011-2014 5.0 because im really not a fan of the 2015+, they still look good but not nearly as good as the 2005-2014 mustangs
I admire you kid....carrying on the 5 speed Mustang torch when SO many of your peers have gone to the imports! I salute you kid! Your heart is exactly were it should be....
My friend, I am starting to sound like a broken record player but again, EXCELLENT video! I totally agree . . . GREAT CAR & don't worry about that mileage! I was under that type of thinking as well . . . 100K + miles = RIP car. WRONG!!! Proof? I did not start tracking my 2008 GT Stang until right at 110K!! So we are talking about sustained redline RPM!! Absolutely no issues whatsoever!! Trust me guys, Nate is correct!!! I'm now at approx 126K miles and I kid you not it feels just as strong as it did when I bought her new. I've always been good with regular maintenance from the start - a must. If you get a good deal . . . BOOM!!! Buy it!!
haha and I may sound like a broken record as well but I appreciate all the love and support you give to me and my channel. You have been there ever since day one and I could not be happier. I love how I can be confidant that this car will last me a long time. I can only imagine how long the newer mustangs will last. Maybe 300K plus? who knows. Thanks once again
You can get these Mustangs to be more powerful than the new ones, but not reliably. The stock engine internals can only take so much... But those new Mustangs are way too expensive. I'm getting an S197 to go drifting. Thanks for your video :)
Great video! I've been searching for one myself and can't wait to get one. The perfect car for me would be Black on the outside with less than 60K miles with a black leather interior and HAS to be manual transmition. It also has to be a GT or GT Premium etc and non convertible. Im so stoked
Ordered a Candy Apple Red 2009 Mustang GT and took delivery 12/15/2008. Was just in time for a big Christmas surprise for my then 16 year old son!!! Got real lucky in that an auto transport driver who lived in our area was assigned to take the car from the factory to my local dealership as he was coming home for Christmas. As of 1/8/2020, it has just over 15,000 miles. My only complaint is that I would have liked it badged as a GT instead of the 45th Anniversary Badge. Guess that could be an easy fix to rebadge the car to a GT. Can’t recall having any repair issues at all to date. It’s an automatic trans, but is still super sweet. I have the five spoke “Crager SS looking” factory mag wheels. The wife (now 60) says she gets a lot of looks from people when driving that car. Yes, would have liked a 5.0, but the 4.6 with 300 HP still does a nice job. Everything is still stock. I passed on waiting/ordering a 2010, because I liked the retro styling Ford used of the late 60s/early 70s Mustangs. Right now they have a nice red automatic trans 2019 Mustang GT at my local Ford Dealership that I might be considering for a stablemate. (Full disclosure: I don’t want to upset Chevy Lovers too much with buying a Ford.) I bought a 2009 Crystal Red Tintcoat - about the same color as the Mustang, Z51 Corvette as a retirement present to myself on 5/5/2009. Got a great deal, as if you can remember back to 2008 and 2009 a lot of dealerships were going through whether or not they were going to be in business. My local Chevy dealership to my knowledge, had a very low allocation of Corvettes and didn’t deal much off the MSRP/Sticker Price. I got a $58,000 MSRP down to $51,000, which was doing pretty good at that place. The Vette has just over 6,000 miles on it. If I have learned anything about either car, I should have driven/enjoyed them more as the depreciation on both makes me not want to trade either in on a new model. I was also blessed that as a H.S.graduation present, my parents bought me a new 1973 Brown 340 Cuda. (Kicking myself every day as I got older thinking about why I ever got rid of that car.)
My dad got a Chevy Silverado in 97 and in 2008 it had 490000 on the original block. Unfortunately it got stolen so he gt another 97 with 60,000 miles on it and it now has 485000. I’m a ford guy but I do have some respect for Silverados. Cars will go for a really long time. The question is do you take care of it so it will keep driving
Just got mine 2 weeks ago. I love that car. The 3V is my favorite modern mustang with the new edge in second place. Not a big fan of the newer mustangs.
Just got a black 06 mustang gt for my 16th birthday earlier this month. Just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me and helping my dream become a reality.
I enjoy my 07 GT. I now have 120k still kicking. The upkeep is not bad for the price I paid 2-3 yrs ago, 70k for 14.4K and I drive alot, around 20k to almost 30k a year. She is daily driven in the midwest. Yep even in snow and ice. I plan on getting a 5.4L engine as a replacement when I hit 250k since that is how long the engine lasts in this area. Although I may go for a 4.6 upgraded to a 331ci with super charger. personally I dont like the turbos. I may get a 2018 near the end of my payments for a daily.
awesome man! You are an awesome source to prove that these msutangs can handle anything. Thats so cool! You got some awesome plans ahead of you. Whatver you choose I know you will make the right decision
We have a 2008 Mustang GT for our promo track car...and I am a huge fan of these cars...especially the later production models (like all Fords). Great mod market. Solid chassis and driveline. Look great. Easy to work on. Love, love, love it!
I have a 2009 s197 mustang GT Bama tuned Side scoops and rear aluminum louver and duck lip spoiler named Beca! still doing mods I got the idea of the caliper covers and fog light setup still working on blacking it out and getting the smoked sequence tail lights 05-09 are probably my fav looking mustangs I wanna upgrade to a 15-17 5.0 someday tho! Love your channel homie keep up the work! 🔥
I'm about to buy an '06 GT in "Screaming Yellow" with 156,000 miles on the O.D.. It's a Southern car. The body, paint, interior, and exterior features are 9.8 out of ten, nearly mint. It has a Flowmaster catback exhaust, nice cold air intake, a performance tune was done, and there several suspension improvements. In the test drive yesterday I got goosebumps. It's been 49 years since I've had a USA muscle car, and this one is a mind blower. I hope the engine holds up because right now it is just fine, and I mean FINE. My only concern is the amount of exhaust rumble inside the car. It's pretty loud and might get changed.
I got a 07 GT convertible and I love it. Unfortunately I had to deal with the infamous spark plugs and dropped a lot of money to fix it but even with 90k miles that's all I had to deal with. I love that baby.
Bought an 06 gt yeaaaars ago. Put a blower on it and dyno tuned it. Pushing 500 safely at the wheels with 10 psi. Never had a problem. Stock tranny/ clutch. 180000 km on it (canada) drive it like I stole it everytime I'm in it. Block is strong.
At first I was into the Dodge chargers, then challengers, bmw 323i, and now this. These are cars that I've thought of buying and now realizing it ford has had mustangs for longer productions then all of the cars that I mentioned. I'm looking forward into buying my own stang. Hopefully by March or April!!
I'm 19 own a 07 gt on my own insurance when i had my first mustang which I owed was a 2000 v6 it was 98 dollars, then moving to the 07 gt went up to 232 because I have to make payments so full coverage is needed but after 7 months it has come down to now 113 which is really cheap at least around here
yup you got that right. insurance will get you with that v8 engine. You can see the difference as soon as you upgraded. thats good that it went down again :)
Got my 3v in Dec 2017 with 33k she just hit 85k with no problems🙏🏽 Dailey driven though so he isnt lying when he says these cars are built to last! Going in on the build this year 🐎🏁
I have a 2007 Mustang GT-CS, I picked it up for only 6.5k and I’m making it look almost exactly like yours. I love the look man. I’m just a college student so the work on my car is a slow progress but it’s getting there, slowly but surely!
One of my customers has a 2007 Mustang GT with 847,000 miles on it. The guy is a photographer and is drives everywhere. He just replaced the cluth and left wheel bearing and needed a new driver seat. Other then lifter tick for a brief second when cold starting it runs great
Hey Nate, thanks for the awesome video, i just bought 05 Mustang GT Convertible and i love it. Its bright red exterior with red/black interior. Its so awesome!, i cant wait every day to drive it. I had a 91 Foxbody before that i loved but i love this 1 even more. I was going to buy another Foxbody but i decided not too and buy this 05 and i am sooo glad i did!
I'm a lifelong carguy, and calling machines "her/she" has always been weird. (Male personification is no better) Naming cars is weird too. In all honesty, I see both those things from girls more than anything. Nice car though. I'm an Old/Pontiac guy, but since Bob Putz and GM stabbed me in the back, I've been appreciating mustangs more. And you built a nice looking one.
Great video! I have a 2008 gt premium convertible. 5 speed. Black with buckskin leather color. I have never got so many compliments on a car as this one. Definitely agree on door panel problems, spark plugs. Also the coil packs are not to good. I replaced the coils with msd street fires. I also changed spark with ngk irradiums. Diablo intune, and k and n cold air intake. Pypes voilators mufflers. H pipes soon. The car run awesome with 83,000 miles. Im glad i got it. I have a vid of it on here.
I bought a 2008 Mustang Premium Convertible V6 automatic in Windveil Blue with Tan Top/Interior with 15,000 miles in 2017 for $9000, always garaged. I definitely got a good deal I don't regret it. I love the car my only wish was that it was a GT with the V8 and the bulit wheels and pony package but aside from the V8, the rest is stuff I can add for aesthetics over time. Driving it I can tell you it feels like it is going to last. It feels reliable and nothing about it makes me worry it is going to break down at 100,000. It even withstood a rear fender bender where the hondas front bumper split in half and my bumper didnt even scratch. Giddy up
Im financing a sentra 2012 im trying to pay it off quickly, once im done paying it im selling it and guna get me a stang! 05 to 09 maybe 2010 model. So many mods for them cant wait!
If you get 05-09, make sure you get the Shaker 500 model, it comes equipped with 3.55 gears vs the 3.31 gears on regular GT's. I still swapped mine to the 4.10s but you'll be happy with the pull of 3.55
I'm 17, five or so months ago i bought my own 2005 mustang v6 premium. It may not be a GT (yet) but its a manual transmission and super clean and i bought it myself!
My 05 mustang was totaled out twice due to people hitting me and it’s still running. I took the insurance money fixed it myself. It runs fine! 129,000 miles on it and never had an issue under the hood except for the thermostat housing cracked. I still drive it and love the hell outta it!
They're also a lot more expensive. How much more expensive? Well after watching the GT market in my country for this summer, the lowest price for a used 2005-2010 was 13K $, the lowest 2010 was 18K $, and the lowest 2011 was 28K $. That's a 50% increase in price from a 2010 to a 2011. And you get TWO 2005 GTs for the price of ONE 2011. So yeah you can really PIMP a 2005 instead of getting a 2011. ...Which is much needed with that interior...
Currently driving a rust bucket, 2000 Nissan Sentra, been looking into new nicer cars, this exact car caught my attention, and wasn't too pricy, thought about it for a bit, and now this video definitely helped me make my choice...
If you think 200,000 miles is alot, my first car was a 96 Toyota Corolla station wagon with 365,000 miles on it. When I was getting ready to sell it had close to 480,000 (give or take) and just did basic maintenance on it. The only thing that went was the water pump. And when I replaced it, it happened to be the original! If you take car of your car, it'll take care of you! Enjoyed the video bud!
El Chabelo NEVER a bad idea. Mustang is a mustang, you'll love the damn car. But if you want to go faster and have that beautiful sound of American V8, I say go for it. MPG on a GT isn't so bad honestly. But I highly recommend manual for a GT, it's really fun.
No. I bought a regular V6 and I don't regreat it one bit. I'd try to spring for a V6 Deluxe if possible and then one day maybe you can upgrade it to GT tier!
El Chabelo yes the v8 is a lot more powerful. I have a 05 gt and have driven v6s and you can feel the power in a gt so much more. But the V6 is still a lot of fun to drive and it's still a mustang.
I had my Black on Black with leather 2005 Mustang GT from Oct 2004 to Feb 2017, I bought it brand new and it was the 3rd one in the state of Oklahoma, so I got a lot of attention with it for about 6 months then they were everywhere. When I first got it there was some problems with the exhaust, it came undone and banged around the bottom of my car and a few other hiccups that was warranty covered. A gripe with that car is that you can only get gas at certain gas stations, at some gas stations the lever will click like its full when you put gas in it, when its not full. After about 8 years the vinyl came off the doors, the cd player would jam up, had to get the throttle body replaced, the seat switches that allows entry into the backseats broke, the window switch on the drivers side stopped working, the entire dash panel went out and had to be replaced, I also had to replace the stock tires every 15,000 miles. It looks like a long list, but for 13 years of ownership its not too bad. My car was part of the first batches that came out so there was a few bugs with it but no deal breakers. I enjoyed owning it, it was a fun car. Just be careful not to hit any bumps while turning a corner it will fling the back end around on you. Also don't try to show off with it at cars and coffee...lol. Its a great car I would not want an inexperienced driver to have one you need to be a good driver with this car or it will bite you.
I have a 2019 5.0, and decided instead of buying a after market exhaust getting a tune and a new intake. To buy a 06 GT. And I’m hoping it’s gonna be worth it.
Y'all can laugh, but the car I drove before my 05 mustang was a 2012 Prius. Let's just say I'm very appreciative of my Stang because of that past traumatizing experience.
I have simular story, switching from 2015 Fiat 500 to my now (love) 2006 mustang GT stick!
Lol I switched from a 2014 Nissan Versa Note to a 06 Stang lol i feel the pain 🙄
Lol the gay and the gayer
I went from a 1971 Montego to a 2005 Suzuki Forenza to a 2006 Pontiac G6 to my '07 GT, I understand where you are coming from.
Scott Oakland
Do you think it’s good car for college?
Had a 2006 Mustang GT named Beth for my first car. Was the 2nd proud owner. I learned how to drive manual in this car as well. But I took care of her when I had the time to do so. She helped me learn how to change an alternator and battery as well. But I decided to sell this thing to someone who had the same face I made when I saw this car. All in all I had zero regrets buying this car. But I've moved on and passed it onto someone else who deserves ole Beth.
How cool man props brother!
Love how enthusiastic you are for your car. I have an 07, and it's still running great.
I love it so much! I want to tell you guys everything I know about these rides
I'm saving up to buy one.
@Carlos R oof I’m sorry bro
@Carlos R how many miles is on yours when it did that?

Bought my 2010 4.6 with 100k miles and have put 50k miles of "spirited" driving since then and I've had zero problems with it. The 4.6 is a bulletproof engine for sure.

Andrew Izaguirre save up a few more grand and get a 5.0 you'll love it so much more
Andrew Izaguirre Im 19 as well. Several months ago I bought a 09 mustang for my at the time girlfriend. After we split up, I took the car back. I was never a fan of mustangs, now that I have experince with one, I love it.
doing the same!
"you only get .4 more liters with the 5.0"........yes, and about 110 more horsepower.......and a better designed engine........and a better running engine......and an engine that likes boost more......you cant compare the two.
true true! gotta respect the 5.0
He didn't do his research that's why.
For $10,000 extra. Yeah, what a deal.
Thomas Rollins you can find 5.0s for not that much more really I can find around 100k miles for 12k ish

Christian Watts how is it going now?
Yeah, give us an update.
Give us a update
And he probably crashed!
ive had nightmares about driving stick!!! idk how to and the first time i tried to drive a stick was in my old job in a auction.
Hearing that exhaust woke up my soul, I need this.
get it man! its sick
I have a very similar story. Always wanted the 05-09 and found one appear on my lot with 25,558 miles a couple weeks ago. My team was really great with the whole process and really helped me out, cheering me on as I learned stick. Easily my greatest purchase to date!
What year? How many miles now?
06. Has about 45/46k on the odometer now. She’s seen more of the country in 2 years than she did in the previous 16 years of ownership 😂

I have my eyes on a 2006 Mustang GT. I have always loved the S197s since the first Transformers movie.
I was afraid of the 100k miles mark but after seeing this video it's gone, I currently own a 2009 V6 premium and I have it at 125k miles and it's running good. It has plenty of aftermarket parts that I can transfer to a GT, so that's a plus. Hope I get a 4.6 soon 🤘🏻

bought a 2006 Mustang GT with 130k miles on it after my V6 2007 Charger blew up on me a second time and I've fallen in love with it, just being able to shift gears puts a smile on my face, wanted a Foxbody but couldn't find a manual one, S197 was a close second though

What! 325,000! That is crazy. That is the most I have ever heard
Nate Rider yeah the motor never really got a full rebuild but my dad replaced most of it until it finally just gave out and started knocking
Goddam that's a lot of miles lol. I hope mine makes it to 400k
@@NateRider my 98 has just over 400k hahaha! It's been so good, but Unfortunately it's now giving out.
06 GT in Red, love it! Can't wait to drop mods on it!
Good info to know, I'm not sure if mine were changed or not on my 07. I've had it for 2 months only.
Yeah you just needa let them soak in some rust thinning solution and they will pop out. I changed mine at 60k miles, let them soak for 20 min, and they popped right out
If you can contact the previous owner or change them out asap, make sure you put nickel antiseize on the new plugs

I agree, my GT has 118k miles and still strong! stock clutch, and motor hasn't had any issues
Thats awesome! You got a long way to go! I love all of your mods and videos that you have done so far
Nate Rider much appreciated Nate! Can't compare to your content #respect #s197s
Are the exhaust fairly quiet out of the factory?
Nor really. They're fairly quiet at idle, but when you get on it, they do make some noise. Plus, you can get axle-backs for under $200.
My 2005 v6 just passed 200k
I just got mine. 14k for one with 45k miles on it. Just finished body and paint. Very happy with it.

The 4.6 v8 is literally the same engine as the crown Vic that engine is bullet proof
A car that I learnt to appreciate..it doesn't quit when it's on the road.

JT McCoy good luck man! Under 60K will cost you a lot more! I just got my 4.0 Mustang last month and I'm proud 🙌🏽
Patience is the key, don't get it unless it meets all your expectations and you are happy with it. It makes your experience so much better
Awesome man! Represent taht V6! I hope you are enjoying it
Ordered a Candy Apple Red 2009 Mustang GT and took delivery 12/15/2008.
(Full disclosure: I don’t want to upset Chevy Lovers too much with buying a Ford.)
I bought a 2009 Crystal Red Tintcoat - about the same color as the Mustang, Z51 Corvette as a retirement present to myself on 5/5/2009.
The question is do you take care of it so it will keep driving
once a car guy, forever a car guy! As long as its domestic then rock with it. I take care of my car like its my baby
Hearing your dad have an excursion some years later definitely feels good I hope he still has it running strong!

Diablo intune, and k and n cold air intake. Pypes voilators mufflers. H pipes soon. The car run awesome with 83,000 miles. Im glad i got it. I have a vid of it on here.
18 years old right now I have about 5 k and there’s one on sale around my block gt 06
I recommend browsing a lot of websites because I’ve found so many for only $2k, anyway I wish you the best of luck buying one! :)
Giddy up
9:10 cool emblem! Great car bro!
Love the S197 body style
Im financing a sentra 2012 im trying to pay it off quickly, once im done paying it im selling it and guna get me a stang! 05 to 09 maybe 2010 model. So many mods for them cant wait!
My payments are 250 im paying 500$ a month just to speed up the process.
If you get 05-09, make sure you get the Shaker 500 model, it comes equipped with 3.55 gears vs the 3.31 gears on regular GT's. I still swapped mine to the 4.10s but you'll be happy with the pull of 3.55
Daniel Guinn my 07 has the shaker 500 and it has 3.31 gears and switched to 4.10 as well
That sounds like an awesome plan! Pay it of asap so you can get to building!
That will cut your wait time in half. When are you done?
I'm 17, five or so months ago i bought my own 2005 mustang v6 premium. It may not be a GT (yet) but its a manual transmission and super clean and i bought it myself!
05-09 is my favorite body style for sure i just started a build on my channel for my 2007:)
sweet man! Good luck to you and your channel. What content are you going to bring?
Nate Rider mostly just my progress on my build eventually i want to drift it maybe we can collab one day do a cruise or something
My 05 mustang was totaled out twice due to people hitting me and it’s still running. I took the insurance money fixed it myself. It runs fine! 129,000 miles on it and never had an issue under the hood except for the thermostat housing cracked. I still drive it and love the hell outta it!
Not downing you or anything but the 5.0 coyote is so much better of a design than the 3v 4.6 it makes over a hundred extra hp then the s197
Yessir the 5.0 are beast! personally I love the 05-09!
Yes, but they come with the crappy MT85 Getrag Chinese made transmission. I wouldn't buy a 2011-2014 Mustang just because of it.
Ronnie Burk down side new 5.0 is hideous
Currently driving a rust bucket, 2000 Nissan Sentra, been looking into new nicer cars, this exact car caught my attention, and wasn't too pricy, thought about it for a bit, and now this video definitely helped me make my choice...
What do you think of the 13-14?
Aviator22 i love it especially with those tail lights! Plus the 5.0, i would love that mustang
I think those 2 model years are overrated, personally I love the 10-12 style...course 2010 was deff a slap in the face to mustang purchasers lol
Yes! exactly! take care of your car and it will take care of you
Is it a bad idea if I get the regular mustang instead of the GT????
El Chabelo NEVER a bad idea. Mustang is a mustang, you'll love the damn car. But if you want to go faster and have that beautiful sound of American V8, I say go for it. MPG on a GT isn't so bad honestly. But I highly recommend manual for a GT, it's really fun.
No. I bought a regular V6 and I don't regreat it one bit. I'd try to spring for a V6 Deluxe if possible and then one day maybe you can upgrade it to GT tier!
Baysick are there many differences in hp????!
If you are talking about a V6 then no! Go for it, they are great cars too
El Chabelo yes the v8 is a lot more powerful. I have a 05 gt and have driven v6s and you can feel the power in a gt so much more. But the V6 is still a lot of fun to drive and it's still a mustang.
Finally I’m getting my dream car soon. You ain’t alone bro. I’m so excited. It’s been long overdue. 😊
Love mustangs I own a 94 first car had it for 9 years and still running strong but the minute he said noss I cried poor car all that needs to be said
haha Sally is used and abused, but she likes it
I had my Black on Black with leather 2005 Mustang GT from Oct 2004 to Feb 2017, I bought it brand new and it was the 3rd one in the state of Oklahoma, so I got a lot of attention with it for about 6 months then they were everywhere.
Just bout a black manual 2006 5.0 for 5k no high milage only 75k im freaking out about it
Nice! congrats on the new whip! and welcome to the mustang community
Juan Jimenez thay didn't come with a 5.0
Was the motor swapped? Or what...??
I have a 2019 5.0, and decided instead of buying a after market exhaust getting a tune and a new intake. To buy a 06 GT. And I’m hoping it’s gonna be worth it.
