@johnny penny I don't think so. A pump, battery and cells will have to be replaced sooner or later, that is not sustainable. Pretty sure all those things together leave a bigger footprint than you might expect considering the extraction of rare metals and other components needed. And since they will have to be replaced, the lifetime footprint might double or even triple. Whereas the metal beams could easily be used for hundreds of years if treated correctly, just like a wood construction.
@johnny penny I suppose so, I just can't see how a raised container could possibly be beaten by advanced machinery in this respect. Also for a _fun_ reality check, look up the situation of rare metal and mineral mining in Africa. Deforestation, corruption and general exploitation.
I love how you take extra precautions for sturdiness and safety in everything you do!! A lot of people fail to take those extra steps and end up having to replace things or have a bad accident involving the structural integrity
Now you need to set up a system that automatically waters the plants. We built something like that using a float shut off valve similar to what you find in a toilet reservoir.
@@jah-jah87 sure, i just used a float valve in a pvc pipe. When the water in the pvc tank evaporated past a certain level, the valve would open and allow water to flow. You are absolutely right about algae in white plastic tank if is mounted outside the barn. I use plastic white IBC (1000 liters) in for watering plants, live in the middle of Russia, at the eastern foot of Ural mountains. After 5 years under the open sky, IBC inner side of the walls became covered with red substance. Each fall I have to clean algae from the inside using a stick. Thinking of using some chemistry to kill bacteria. Another option is to change to black, non transparent, plastic tank, which will not allow sunlight go inside.

They seem strong, but if they can move they can fall, especially because you only have one shelf, with 2 shelfs you get more stability. Edit, ahh now i saw you secured it.. No worries then :D
You could automate the overflow diversion, since the system is already gapped between the gutters and the collector. Seal the system between the tank and the collector, then it will just overflow at the collector. Could also have the overflow diverter be higher on the collector than the tank pipe, than you can leave that valve always open. This way if there happens to be a surprisingly heavy rain while you're out of town, you don't have to worry about having someone come over and open the diverter to prevent flooding the barn.

I'm here on your channel for first time. After watching this video I do some research about Cambry & it's really emotional. One of my favourite "The story of my life" by Helen Keller. Cambry you can write autobiography on your life. That will be a great story of life. Now I realised how hope work in our life. Cambry is best example. About Jerry from now day you are my most favourite youtuber & a good human being. You are best youtuber I ever known. Make more videos featuring by Cambry in future. Thank you so much.
Cambry seems really tired or sick in this video. If she's just tired, get her to rest. Hope she's not sick
