    You are dedicatedly introspective. Your responses to your experiences ring with the tone of true truth telling. I’m not non-binary, yet find you so relatable it’s easy empathizing with the broadness of your perspective. But more than anything else you are absolutely glowing in this video. By the end of which, my face was cast in a perma-grin, and my body felt that much lighter for it. 😊

    I've just came out as trans at the ripe old age of 26. I've had bottom dysphoria for as long as I can remember but I've neither felt like a man or woman at any point, which made it hard for me to come out. It's so nice to find somebody who has had a shared experience, and gives me hope I can finally be the real me instead of existing in the shell of a body I don't care for but also not expected to fit any gender roles that come even with transitioning. Next step for me is HRT early next year!

    • @brynavery

      I’m so glad my experience has helped you to stand more confident in yourself and give you a sense of understanding and belonging in the world. Congrats on coming out, and best of luck with HRT and whatever the future holds 💛

    this video didn't come up in my recommendations even though i'm a very consistent watcher, so idk what's up with the algorithm for that? but i had a feeling you would have posted another update by now so i searched it up.
    I'm so happy your surgery has given you so much connection and ease! i think i've commented before and said how much i relate to you and the way you speak about gender even though i'm trans male/androgynous. Super relate to the commitment issues thing, sometimes i'm shocked that i ever got up the resolve to go on T, but i'm so glad i did. Feel the thing about dysphoria being 'manageable' but unconscionable to think of returning to, as well. My transition has definitely felt like a serious of arrow heads that only move one way. And i also feel the walls thing. i think there is so much of my masculinity and femininity that i can't embody bc of disconnection to my chest. I remember before i started T, i felt like the only parts of my body that belonged to me were my shoulders up, my knees down and a small square of my abdomen that was kind of ambiguous and hairy, the rest felt alien, like it belonged to a roommate i was sharing my body with and could hang out with only politely. but now i feel like my whole body is mine except my chest. So i'm so keen to feel the full, uncomplicated ownership of myself that you were talking about with like "just putting on clothes" ! Like yeah, to have just *me* and *clothes* and not a separate third thing..
    Anyway, good luck with everything else going on in your life, Bryn. Glad the gender stuff is sweet 🤙💕

    • @brynavery
      @brynavery  Год назад +2

      Hmmm, not sure why it didn’t recommend it, but I’m glad you were able to find it 😊
      I totally get what you’re saying about feeling like you’re sharing your body with a roommate who you can only hang out with politely. To feel connected to your own body is such a huge and important thing, and I’m glad you’re able to connect with a lot more of your body! I hope you’re able to get top surgery (assuming that’s what you want, from what you said).
      Thank you so much for your support 💛💛💛

    @celestine5231 Год назад +3

    Wow, that stuff about having to worry about how your bottom half used to look in clothing and having to sit certain ways really resonated with me. I don't personally have too much dysphoria surrounding that area, but I'm still considering surgery in the future. It's less "I want to be rid of this thing" and more "It's just mildly inconvenient and I'd rather not have it if I could choose". Also really interesting to hear how getting it done allowed you to re-explore your gender, that's kinda what getting on HRT did for me.

    • @brynavery
      @brynavery  Год назад +1

      That makes total sense. It’s wild how easily I put on clothes now, so much less anxiety. Had no idea I even had anxiety about a bunch of things until the anxiety went away lol.
      Oh yeah HRT totally did that for me too (I was out as Mtf until I started HRT and then could start feeling more androgynous and connect with ambiguity and androgyny). Re-exploring my gender has been so freeing, I’ll probably make a video about it when I get the chance. Best of luck with getting surgery if you decide that’s what you want! Much love 💛

    It would be very interesting to make a video about the subject of working world and his relation to transidentity/passing/comingout.

      I’m a hair stylist, which honestly is a very good fit for me as a trans person, since the beauty industry is all about creative expression. The salon I work at actually went gender neutral recently (as opposed to labeling things as for males or females) and we all have our pronouns on our name tags at our stations 😊 that’s a good idea for a video tho, thank you!! I’ll add that to my list of video topics 😊

      I am doing very well...mostly... Playing the waiting game and not doing well at it. 10 weeks till top surgery. Expanders and fills and all that. But TEN WEEKS!! it feeling like i am saying 10 years. I also started off the long grind toward bottom. First letter in and getting the second next week. Maybe summer of 2024. And you're still having appartement issues. Wow. Sorry to hear about that. Be safe out there.

    First thing I notised was how much you were smilling & how your eyes were kind of showing happyness 🤔😊
    At the 24:00 your talk about that weird feeling of not feeling being hit as something that also means that you need to perform as a person.
    I found this quote that I've copied to my about-me:
    "I wish there was another sex, a neutral one. One with no parts. One that was outside of the whole reproduction thing. Then people would never even see me as an option. That would be really nice."

    What forms of estrogen did/do you take?
    Is it transdermal forms or injection? Because you have a very good passing and transdermal form is know to be poorly absorbed...
    (Sorry if you already answered this question in a previous video)

    • @brynavery
      @brynavery  Год назад +1

      I take estradiol (a pill). 4 mg at night and 2 mg in the morning. I’ve never used the patch or injections before, but I’ve heard injections work the best out of all 3 options. And before surgery I was also on spironolactone (also a pill) to block my testosterone. I was on 100 mg twice a day I think. I will say my features prior to transitioning weren’t very masculine, so I’m able to get away with using the pills instead of injections. And I never wanted a large chest or anything (I heard that injections can help with bigger chests and wider hips, basically just more feminine fat redistribution I think) I wouldn’t mind bigger hips tho, or a bigger butt lol

    I'm on my 6 months post-op and I'm still doing 3 times a day. I tried 2 times a day and it was so PAINFUL to dilate. It took me 20 to 30mins to get dilator all the way in. 💔😭

      I’m so sorry to hear that. Things that helped me were weed, a muscle relaxer, and pain killers (even just ibuprofen). And if you can, dilating longer than you need to. I hope you find something that works for you, I’m really sorry you’re having such a hard time. Much love 💛
