My 12yo is looking to get into digital drawing for her manga art. Your video sold me on this as her first tablet vs. the comparable Wacom. Seems like a perfect learning tablet (and nicer on the Christmas budget 😆). Thanks for the great video!
Hey, I know it’s been 3 years since you commented this, and probably at least two since you thought about at this comment, but were there ANY issues with it? I’m having trouble researching issues with it because everyone seems to love it, and I just want to know the minor Nuisances.
got this tablet recently and like you said, it works really well on a laptop and for painting, but fair warning, if you have a laptop with a extra monitor setup like I do, the small size becomes a issue , still very usable, you just can't make big hand movements. great for the money, thanks for always making great videos
i don't understand why people want such a large active area? i owned the WH1409 Huion and it was wayy too big. I reduced the size to that of this, the Huion H640p. When you draw you mostly use wrist gestures not hand
@@iasyama1999 I only do manual illustrations, but I will have to use digital tools to redo drawing and painting, so my doubt about the brand is here, but I need to know about the compatibility with my monitors. I have one of 27 inches and another of 22, use photoshop, but always with both screens and the mouse. I am inclined to buy the Huion H640p (because of the price), but I do not know if its size will be cool to work proportionally with the result of the dash on the screens. Would the active area of 160 x 100mm be inconvenient or too small for drawing work?
I just started digital art switching from traditional. Boro has been a huge basis for this. That being said. While shopping for a drawing, I didn't feel the need to spend 2 - 3k$ on a nice drawing tablet. I came upon the Huion Kamvas Gt-220 v2 pro. It varies in price, but i got mine for under 500 bucks and I absolutely love it. I am no Boro, but it's taken my work to the next level. quality.
Thank you so much!! My parents were far too lazy to search it up, so here I am, and I was quite surprised when it worked. It's really good, and I enjoyed this video just as much as setting up my tablet :D
aside from the displaytablets (never tried them out) huion makes the best tablets for their price a 60$ tablet with the same size as a wacom 350$tablet and the same quality is huge as a beginner lile myself i love huion since they made my step into the digital painting world much cheaper
I would argue XP-Pen is a better competitor. I bought the XP-Pen Deco01 for $60, which has battery-free stylus, 8 express keys, 8k pressure sensitivity, and the active area on the tablet is 10 x 6.25 inches, and you get a drawing glove
I've used an older Huion tablet for a few years now and was pretty happy with it for the price, but I really want to try these newer models. The pens and quality look a lot better.
Thanks very much for an informative, unbiased review. I have one of these ordered, replacing my old Wacom Bamboo which finally bit the dust after just short of 10 years use in Photoshop.
You can go Huion way and buy some from them instead of Wacom: www.huiontablet.com/all-products/pen-tablet-monitor/kamvas-gt-191.html 19.6" display with FHD for 500$ with not as shitty stand as Wacom's - it's quite a bargain, I think.
Cristian Camilo Ruiz Hernandez I just saw earlier today that Wacom and synaptic, who for a while we're the only players in the active stylus market, are setting up a consortium for cross platform stylus tech. It can only be a good thing.
My mom be like: That H640p you want is too expensive Me: Really? You buy a 71$ bag with no technology and called a 53$ drawing tablet that has technology expensive. Note: Im live at Indonesia so our incomes are a little bit small but the product are a little bit cheap so some product that is outside my country are expensive to us
just received just 950P in the post about a week ago, its my first tablet so still getting to grips with the digital pen (excuse the pun). Seems solid so far, I did have some issues with lag in photoshop though after using Boro's tutorial for that the experience is much smoother.
It seems like Hunion is rapidly closing the gap with Wacom. I wonder if they are interested in producing a whole PC Laptop? BTW: Nice painting on your monitor background! Is that yours?
I have the 640 and the 950. They are excellent. The 640 is convenient to carry with my laptop and the 950 is a good size for my desktop (27" monitor). The 950 has tilt.
the active area is bigger than the older wacom intuos S tablet active area, aaand more buttons that are all on one side, I really dislike when they put buttons on the top and other side when I'm right handed and use buttons on one side only heh I just ordered this tablet I hope it'll be better
I've noticed you using more non-screen tablets lately, do you find your posture has improved working and do you have less aches and pains in your back and neck because of it? Thanks for another product review. I may consider one of these in a larger version for the future.
I just got my new Huion 640p and trying to get used to it. I've never used a tablet before so not sure if something is missing or wrong with the tablet. Its tablet keys on the left are not working even after setting them up.
Thanks for the clear and concise review. Thinking of trying a tablet. Not for drawing, mostly for masking/compositing in Photoshop. A couple of Questions: Does it work in Lightroom?
Okay. If you want to use this for your iPad or your phone hear me out. Its only used for android and not for apple. I bought this and I wanted to use it for my iPad since it did not have a pencil, but when I took it out the USB’s were only for android. I would like to have a USB for apple since I was looking forward to using this.
My intuos 4 wacom also has the cord coming out from the same place, I wish the cord was angled honestly. It also prevents damage through bumping from the left or right. And intuos 4 and 5 were very much prone to damaged USB ports.
So it's finally confirmed: your forehead is about size of a graphic tablet; so, your success in digital drawing is clearly a proof that phrenology and physiognomy have a point... For me sometimes my M tablet is a little big, but I wouldn't image drawing on a smaller one. I think I should rather increase my monitor size.
I bought this tablet and I really like it, but the surface is too smooth for me, does anyone have any idea on how I can fix this? I'm kind of new on this whole digital art thing and I miss the real paper feel. I know there are some covers for tablets, but can't find any for this model.
I can't really speak for him, but he complimented the surface more on the Deco. The Deco has USB C which is the newer standard. The Deco has a slightly higher Report rate(Doesn't really matter). The main thing the huion has, is the switch to turn off Buttons. But he also said on twitter that he had no problem with the Deco and that he may use it again after other reviews. And the fact that he says that even when he still has that really expensive Cintiq is a pretty big endorsment.
My favorite is the deo 03 it's one of the best digital tablets I used and I actually think it's better than Wacom tablets huion is. I love the Deco pens there so nice and The Deco 3 comes with a pen case which is really great for traveling

The pen tip has some king of spring built in it so you have to press it hard enough to recoil the spring to have the first level of pressure. Hating it so far. Do you know if the surface of the tablet is changeable? mine came with an air bubble on the center of it, almost unnoticeable but still.
Any recommendations for advanced macros combinations for the buttons? I feel like only using it for single key presses like H to flip the canvas or ctrl-Z is good and all but maybe I'm missing some efficient shortcuts
So, if I am not mistaken, you can not see what you are drawing on the tablet itself? You purely have to look at your PC screen only? Isn't that incredibly difficult, like, that sounds and looks really complicated when you're trying to draw properly and neatly.
