Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Lalo has zero nurturing instinct so he misses the implication completely and assumes to new purchases were made from elsewhere and added to the herd. Such a small detail, but so revealing how the mind of a psychopath is different.

In THIS scene, Lalo is not the psychopath who killed the people who helped him.
He acts like a sovereign, practicing the right of life and death on his subjects. He paid for their kid's dentist, he bought them goats which clearly sustain the family.

Honestly, this seemed more like a scene purely to expand on how sociopathic Lalo's character is. There wasn't any merit to a sociopath in doing this; the chances of these people who are extremely loyal to him, blabbing about him being alive, are just as if not far lower than their death leading to suspicion that he's alive. Sure the cops and whatnot can cover for him, but people talk, people have friends, and in this case, if a team of highly trained assassins got to his manor in the first place, chances are Gus has eyes and ears in the local police and area. Having a family nearby with prior relations to him suddenly get stabbed in their home is a big red flag.
Just doesn't seem logical purely a sociopathic point of view.
