I was born and raised in Reno Nevada too. Except both of my parents are pakistani. My dad came to America first then my mom after that I was born and then my four older siblings came when I was two. The community here from Pakistan is mostly from the same city and or village as my parents so I learned to speak both the national language of urdu as well as the language punjabi of the region punjab that my parents are from. So I'm trilingual.

My university cafeteria used to have Iranian food and I will eat Iranian every two weeks or so. The owner frequently gave me a heap of rice on the plate when I come, and the food is pretty cheap. I got pilaf and one large koobideh for $2. 😋😋😋

My Iranian friend is named Mandana when people asked her what it means she says it’s a name of a queen but she can’t pronounce it right so she says “it’s a name of a “quin”. It’s now become an inside joke of ours to make her say the word “quin” however possible.

My cousin's husband is Farsi. Hamid Abholhassani. Nicest freakin guy in the world. We're Italian so naturally as Mediteranneans, we have a natural kinship. Hes a staunch lib and Im a conservative but it works and I truly love the man.

My mate in Edinburgh calls his dog Douglas, or Doug for short, because in Scotland, dog is pronoumced "Dug".

I have 5 of your routines/appearances on my favorites bar. To this day, I use them when I need a good laugh on rough days (especially "Women can turn anything into an argument). You can only call it Farsi when you're speaking Persian. It's like saying español instead of Spanish or français instead of French, or deutsch instead of German WHEN SPEAKING ENGLISH.
sedayeguitar actually it's called farsi everywhere except in America. Here they say persian but if you are speaking another language such as urdu or even punjabi both languages of pakistan. You would refer to it as farsi because that is its proper name. Saying persian is like saying African when talking about arabic.
