Hello LorriMarie. Busy, busy month. I so love this technique with the fabric. I was inspired by the page you used it in, in of the altered books. I used it as an altered journal cover and will post it on your fb page when I get a chance. As always thank you so much. 💕💕💕

Absolutely, LorriMarie ... I must've missed the first few mins., when I first watched this. Love the blooper! A good belly laugh.
I love this!!! After doing one of the fabric pieces this morning- I am a huge fan--HUGE!!! This just takes things to another level---and I love it!!
you are one busy girl brandy! so grateful you are in 'our village'...it takes a VILLAGE, right? and yes...a lighter image would have been better...but....i am okay with that...lol! see you on the table brandy!
We are so blessed to have time each day set aside for some art - and why not?!?! It allows both Joe and I some time to bond and also center ourselves for the day!! I notice a huge difference in the days we can't squeeze in our art in the morning. As far as our art skills--they have grown by heaps and bounds!! We are so thankful to have found you, teacher!!! Joe and I have found a few larger pieces to repurpose and play with in our make-shift shop (garage), so the next few weeks we will be cranking out project after project- most using the techniques we learned from you!! Best of all- playing with all the supplies we now know how to use because of you!! Jaron and Jellybean will be joining us - who wouldn't want to play for hours with some amazingly talented kids who love to create and have fun!!!
Also---I love that you learn from each piece you make. If you did it perfectly every time, I may feel too intimidated to even try some of this- or get so frustrated with myself when it didn't turn out perfect. One thing I adore about you is that you show your human side all the time---embracing all the texture you create in your pieces and your art...I love joining you in your process and allowing us to see this is a form of art that values all the happy textures and values all the little imperfections - such a symbolic way to mirror real life!!
Hi LorriMarie, this is Jane Vincent on my husband's computer (we're in Quartzite, AZ for a big Gem & Mineral show as hubby's a geologist--besides I love rocks too! lol. I love this page, so cool. I have the same napkin. Watching you use the gold foil has given me the nerve to use my copper foil. Yay. Can't wait to try elements of this page. Thank you. XOXOJane
you go girlfriend....once you play with the foil...well....your life will never be the same...lol! how was the gem show? and we have the same napkins? what? like minds think alike....yay! see you on the table jane and christopher!!!
I am binge watching you! From Portland, Oregon
binge away jane....no calories here! lol...see you on the table....how is your weather?
That back ground was beautiful all on its own!

I thank you for getting me to the place where I made a commitment to myself to get in studio time everyday!
yipppeeeee misty! that is what makes me the happiest...getting in my studio everyday! see you on the table girlfriend!
watching a year later...at the beginning, it sounded like you were about to say "mixed martial artist" ;) i keep finding more awesome ideas to use my fabric samples with. i can't wait to make something like this! i don't have a sewing machine, so i can't do any of the sewing fabric projects so i like stuff like this.
brittany....i hope a used sewing machine comes to you soon...you will enjoy it! yay....and i guess mixed media artist is a bit like mixed martial artist...lol....thank you for the giggle...and thank you for joining me today!!! see you on the table brittany!!
Wowza that is beautiful! Have never thought of putting tissue paper through my printer! But now I will LOL thank you so much for Inspiration, I was just wondering what to do on my new altered box… hhhmmmm lol
When you added the yellow lines to the piece it really brought out the deep rich colours. And after you cut it, rearranged it so the fabric pieces stuck out in the canvas - I love that idea! Also, did not know that trick about taping the tissue paper to the copy paper - learned a lot from watching this. Do you have an Amazon link to the foil you use? Would like to buy some. Thanks for sharing your art and techniques. Always so fun and inspiring to watch.
i do not have the amazon link brie...sorry...we are in costa rica and things are a bit different here...lol. even the internet! but look up 'transfer foil' on amazon and it should pop up...thank you for checking in...go create, go play, go have fun!!!
Thanks Lori - had ordered the faux-leaf by mistake. Just found and ordered transfer foil. Looking forward to trying it out!
@@houdini840 perfect!!!!
Very, very delicious!! 😍
thank you gerrien!!! go create, go play, go have fun!!!
There were a few times during this video when I was almost crawling out of my skin. I would think it was perfect....and then you would do something else to it. Then it was perfect....and it would happen again. I knew to just trust you and your instincts, though. It is A MAZ ING!
oh my goodness jennifer...every layer tells its own story...and it is not done until the story is told....thank you for hanging in there jennifer...some pieces can be real 'nail biters'...lol.....see you on the table jennifer!
This is one of my favorite fabric videos- really love this project!
i am so ready to play with fabric brandy....but still in nz...lol!!! create something for me! lol....xo
She turned out beautiful. I think she'd be the best on a cover as well. One of my favorite mediums is tissue paper. You kind of don't know exactly what you'll get.
now that is soooooo true! lol...letting go here....lol! see you on the table susan!
I am so glad you liked the package....it was fun to put it together! Enjoy the socks, too! ❤️

A beautiful journal tfs!
Love it what a great idea for a cover of a book.
thank you eva....now to get it on there...lol! see you on the table...
Stop. Too much. Hahaha---in the end just right!! You are amazing. I would love one of your creations at the underpants stage or the gesso stage or the gold foil stage, but no you just keep throwing on the magic!! You create treasures at every dry ing spot. Amazing.
Have funon your trip.stay safe.

Beautiful texture, gorgeous piece, absolutely love it. (Wonder if I printed in black and white on my inkjet what it would look like?). Thank you for sharing, Lorrimarie! You always come up with suck great ideas.
well jean....i am hoping that it is a typo that says....'you always come up with suck great ideas'...lol...that made me giggle! and give it a try with your inkjet...nothing ventured...nothing gained! right? go create, go play, go have fun!!!!
Sorry about that typo....what can I say???lol

Ohhh, how amazing is this!!!! Hello lovely, new subbie here! I sure am enjoying your channel! You are so inspiring, thank you for sharing your wonderful self!
Many blessings ~
what? a new subbie? welcome to 'our village'...we are an amazing group of like minded people...a bit quirky...and a lot fun! i hope you can stay for a while immortal art...there are lots of videos for inspiration! see you on the table...
I love it. However I think you put a lot of layers which make the previous layer disappear. Like for instance I loved the fabrics you put at first but now they've totally disappeared!
thank you for taking the time to leave a comment anne...each layer does show through somewhat....and the energy is what is being built with all the layers...each piece holds so much energy.....texture and energy...woot woot!!! i hope you find some inspiration here anne! go create, go play, go have fun!!!
Its so beautifull To see ol the work You had. Its stunning ❤️🇳🇱
thank you my darling anneke! it is always a treat to hear from you! see you on the table...
LorriMarie, I love everything you do, it is all so gorgeous and of course unique!!!! May I ask a question that has nothing to do with this technique, lol? Where or what magazines are good to use to find focal points? I just need a place to start, all we get are clothing catalogs, and well, not finding much in there.....I’m sure art magazines are good, but I don’t even know any titles (sorry, boo me) can you, or anyone reading this recommend some magazines for me, please??? Thank you so very much!
somerset magazines, haute dolls, juxtapoz, hi-fructose and any other artsy magazines that you can get your hands on....used book stores and library book sales are a must! i hope that helps some! thank you tiffany for taking the time to leave a comment!!! yep...see you on the table!
LorriMarie Jenkins , oh my goodness, no, thank you for taking the time to answer me...you made my day!!☺️
could you use a toothbrush?? to flick acrylic paint
perfect idea sharon...go create, go play, go have fun!!!!
Is there a way to use books that the signatures are glued into?
not without them trying to fall apart bridgton...sorry...that is my experience anyway...good luck! go create, go play, go have fun!!!
Fantastic!
thank you darling!!!!! see you on the table.!
Gorgeous wow 😍😍

So there have been a couple I refused to cut up, LOL, but I decided to just do it and cut up one, I cut it diagonally and put yellow fabric under it. It gorgeous! #havecourage #makethecut 😁
that sounds delish ali! would love to see it....and yes..courage to make the cut...what on earth are we afraid of? that we might have to toss something out? geez....thank you so much for the comment ali...i really appreciate...we are not alone!!!! see you on the table...
Why do u put jesso over the modpodge? 13:32
the gesso will crack if it is applied over the modpodge...fun...right?
Where do you find your focal points?
no magazine or art book is safe around me deborah! lol....coffee table books and art magazines are my favorite because the images are larger...good luck...and see you on the table deborah!
I wonder if I made this piece as you have, could I attach it as the back of a book without the substrate?
why yes my 'wonder woman'...you sure can...it can be 'altered' to work on the cover of the book...using the book cover as the substrate...you are one smart cookie...with coffee...milk, no sugar!!! xo
3:15 Have you altered this one yet? I would really love to see you do this one. I want to see how you incorporate some of the pictures in to the alteration.
i have no idea asha...this video is from a minute ago...the videos that follow this one...time wise...might continue on with this technique...i hope you can find what you are looking for asha!!! go create, go play, go have fun!!!!!
LORRIIEMARie what. Do. Kind of pencil do you use. For outlines oldgolds Janet
i use a stabilo for all my smokey finishes....here is the link and they are cheaper...much cheaper by the dozen....i hope that helps! see you on the table janet....

absolutely pati! modpodge is cheaper and my 'go to'...but the medium works just fun! go create, go play, go have fun!!!
Wonderful!!!!! :)))
well leatherandjade...good to hear from you! thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment! go create, go play, go have fun!!!!
I just finished the background , I can't do the transfer, what else could I use as a focal point?
Any help would be appreciated.
first off....don't panic! you cannot do the transfer why? because you have tried it and it has not worked? or you just don't want to? a couple questions for you to answer so that i can appropriately help you....stop by for a cuppa and we can chat? lol....i know...not possible...so...are you looking to something with transparency? i would assume yes since you are on the transfer page...soooo....how about a fun rubber stamp on a sewing pattern? it turns pretty translucent...or...glue a fun napkin across the page...(making sure to take it down to the last layer)...if you put modpodge under and over the napin, it too will be transparent...showing off your wonderful fabric background....i hope that helps jeannie! if not...are you in our closed group on facebook? i do a live Q&A every wednesday at 10:00 vallejo, ca. time....see you there...or see you on the table...
I don't have a copier, I like the idea about transfer rub on, Thank you so much 😊 for getting back to me.
I'd love to show you some of my work. How could I send you some photos?
So between gardening, reading and my wonderful new art classes. I am having a great time, and like you I'd rather be at the table. You noticed I didn't mention house cleaning, that's last on the list
Thanks again for you inspiring classes. Jeannie

what are gellatos made out of?
they are like a creamy crayon...what are they made of? heck if i know...lol! go create, go play, go have fun!
I have the perfect substrate for a project like that for a wall hanging.now to find some material for the "underpants" and the extra somethings... Lol and also try to get out of this artsy funk... Lol
an artsy funk is the worst! yes...i think this piece would look amazing on a larger scale! focal point, no focal point....the colors, the textures...yummmy! thank you for the comment roberta...one day at a time...just go in your private space and move your hands around....xo
I would love to receive a happy mail!
happy mail is so much fun.....i believe this is an older video...are you in the states til? go create, go play, go have fun til!

@@til0711 oh my goodness....it is so expensive to ship to swizerland! i wish we lived closer! i am so glad you are having fun...i am too!!!!!!!
Hey LorriMarie, very informative as usual. Do you think#70 lutradur would work instead of thin paper? As you know it is very translucent and goes through printers and if you want a torn look just use a wood burning tool just thinking outside the box. Thanks, Carol
dearest carol....i am afraid i do not even know what #70 lutradur is...it sounds fancy...lol...and if it is translucent and goes through the printer....ta da....right? let me know...see you on the table carol!
so yummy
thank you pm....i bet you love playing with fabric....going by your name anyway! go create, go play, go have fun!!!
Could you please comment publicly on the gold transfer paper you use, I went Michael's and bought thin gold for $10(25 sheets) it didn't work so I will take it back.
I looked on amazon and I believe it was the same. Any help will be welcome. I love doing my art.
Husband jokes about my art, but to me it is and I am so happy I found my ART TEACHER!
