That's a nice little drone & I may find the budget in my retirement to pick one up this upcoming spring. I have too many hobbies from rc planes to amateur radio that my money ends up supporting. I always liked the sailplane over any other type and actually put the hobby in park for 13 years when the Eflite QS-2 quad was the hottest new item & I still have mine with very little flight time on it. I live on over 160 acres in the Catskills to the east of you and always wanted an aerial survey of the area & when I looked at the hobby recently and saw the flight controllers and mission planning capability I got hooked again. But, sailplanes still remain my favorite either slope or thermal soaring...

I thank you. I ordered one of these over the DJI mini 2 se. The only advantage of the DJI seemed to be distance but this one has much better camera & other features all that extra Distance would do for me is get me I trouble. I already lost one drone I can,t afford that again. Thank you again

Much better looking video footage than the DJI mini 2 SE. It is a brighter more vibrant image and a heck of a lot better deal for the fly more bundle coming in at $370 currently compared to the Mini 2SE bundle which is $450

I said a budget of $500 just to see what I could get first drone was looking at the mini three pro but just over budget to get into Hobby I know I will be spending a lot more later if I do like it, but it looks like a very nice little drone that you could take almost anywhere and have at least a good time. It remembers the calibration for the location that it's at. You should do it any time that you switch to a different flying location, or if you notice any uncommanded circling of the drone (like its twirling down a toilet). If it does such, land immediately and do a compass calibration, as the circling will incease and become uncontrollable.
Yes again. As shown in the screenshot view, I was receiving over 20 satellites. This is because this drone simultaneously uses three separate/independent GPS systems (it uses US, Russia, and China's satellite systems).
Not sure what size has to do with it? The Dreamer Pro weighs 820 grams (thus require registration and RID). It also only has 2Km range, and does not have the Quickshot modes.

I bought one last week, have not made up my mind about it, 4-5 mile wind, it was not stable, actually drifted back to me, then when I pressed return to home, it automatically climbed to 197 feet (from a 50 foot level)
Make sure that you conduct the compass calibration as shown in the above video. Also make sure that you take off with sufficient satellites for good GPS positioning (I recommend at least 9 satellites). Otherwise, you'll be flying in less stable optical flow mode, which I suspect is what happened in your flight. Regarding return to home, it will automatically climb to a preset altitude before returning to avoid any trees or obstacles. To set it to lower return altitude, click on settings in the app (those three dots in the upper right corner). Then click on "Safety", scroll down to "Minimum return altitude", and slide the button right or left to raise/lower the return altitude. Note that the numbers are in meters.

Don't forget the number of satellites. It's that number in the upper right section of the app, just left of the letters RC. The higher the number, the better stability. Just don't take off until that number rises above 9.
This seems like a very good drone for the price as the DJI Mini 4 pro is $1,300.00 for a fly more combo. Does it have any flight restrictions like the DJI does?
@@veronabitdidariopaganini2114 I think that you're referring to "Minimum return altitude" which refers to the minimum return to home altitude. But directly below that is the "Virtual Fence" geofence distances of altitude (10 to 800 meters), and distance (20 to 4000 meters). Both can be turned off by activating the "No Limit" button just to their right.
I just purchased thus drone specifically for the active track function for while im riding my motorcycle. I watched the entire video waiting for you to demonstrate active track and it never happened 😢. Other than that it was 👍 ok.
I doubt active-track is really gonna work on your motorcycle. It will lose you and you have to stop and stop and ride back and try again. Follow-me works.
@driewiel the active track works so well it stays with me even if my friends ride up beside me and pull away. This is better than my DJI except the picture quality.

I just know from experience that follow-me is more reliable, even without obstacle avoidance. I can position the drone in view and take over control anytime. While the active track of the Atom only follows from behind. But if you think it works then who am I to say it doesn't? BTW does the app for the Atom have a homepoint update option? Very important. So you don't have to race back like an idiot if RTH kicks in. If it doesn't then definitely try contact Potensic. It's a must have feature.

See the video at 20:53 < click this number. It's important to aim the flat sides of the antennas at the drone. Do NOT point the tips of the antenna at the drone, as that provides the worst reception.

Hi there, i am getting into quads, i am looking for a cheap quad that will be very sporty/aerobatic to practise on. Note i just fly LOS, no FPV. Can you or anyone tell me a current model that is extremely agile model please (almost like Angle/Acro)? Not bothered about the weight. Many thanks.
I'm pretty sure this a FIMI product made for Potensic - at last a real competitor for the basic DJI Mini SE. For the money you pay for the combo I think it is exceptional value for money. The only issue I have with these 250 g drones is they are obviously not very wind resistant - no big deal, just choose decent weather. For a beginner, value for money and performance better than the other ones around $200-250 , I think this will sell well.

Dji Drone are very good at wind resistant, even the Mini SE, the Mini1 is maybe the weaker, but still very good in wind ;) Now, you can find some Mini2 on the used market, almost unused for 250€, i'm not sure the value is better for that potensic... I'm still convinced, for beginners, the Tello, for 50€, is the perfect starting drone ;) Not wind resistant at all, but if it goes away, it hurt the wallet less ^^'
In the USA, for safety reasons, it's not legal to fly your drone out of visual line of sight. For me, that's around 100 meters with this little drone. I know that there are others that do such, but they are part of the reason why we now have drone registration, and remote ID.
2.4Ghz is for transmitter control of the aircraft (throttle, pitch, roll, yaw). This does not use 5.8Ghz WiFi for video. Instead, the phone is directly connected to the controller through on-the-go cables. The controller has a built-in 5Ghz amplifier/relay for connecting the app with the drone for video signal reception, along with advanced flight control mode controls.
If you want to use a tablet instead of a phone, you have to use a tablet that has 4g or 5g service. Make sure the tablet is no more than a few years old. I bought an 8" Samsung galaxy tab A that was made in 2020 from eBay for $40 and it works good. The older tablets are too slow and the screen freezes constantly. The newer the tablet the better.
You don't really need the 4G/5G data service unless you wish to use the waypoints map feature. You just need a device with 802.11ac WiFi capability. 802.11ac is 5Ghz WiFi, which is a different thing than 5G (Fifth Generation) phone data service.
Why would you buy a used drone, especially at this price? Don't know if it's been crashed. The battery condition is unknown. Also, if defective, how would you send it back? Finally, the DJI Mini 2 only has a 2.7K camera (not 4K), and does not have the Quick Shot modes that this does.
Agreed, the DJI mini doesn't even have a 4K camera, and it also doesn't have all the quick shot modes that this does. It does have longer range, but that's about it.

This couldn't travel 6km if you found a new grand canyon and kicked it off the side. 3km ive seen it struggle for a signal is the best one I've seen. I would have bought it if not for that

The comparable drone from DJI (Mini 2 Fly More combo) costs $230 more than this. And that drone does not have 4K video, nor all the Quick Shot features that this has. I agree in the past that DJI did not have much competition. But it seems that those days may be coming to an end.
Look I am not going to agree ever I have flown enough off brad quads to know that they cheap out somewhere and it is usually construction. I straight up fly a lot, and I know for a fact that would never handle the number of flights I do a Year I have tried trust me I have been thru 100s of drone trying to save a buck or two and if I would have just spent the money on a DJI in the first place, I would have been a head. I have an original Mavic with hundreds of flight hours I bought off a friend and I have put many more on it myself and it runs and flies to this day perfectly. I also fly a Mini 2 SE and Air 3 and have never rejected it once. So, five years let me know how that atom is doing would yeah, I like to know how many flight hours you got on it, because that is where the real difference lies, I would say. Remember a company that cares about fit and finish, boxing presentation of a product 99 percent of the time has a better product. I am by no means saying DJI is perfect, but they are perfect at making a durable quality product with imperfections that I can live with.
Then tell me this why does all these brands feel the need to look like a DJI product fold like a DJI product hell even the app looks like a DJI product I can tell you why cause DJI is what people are wanting, buying and flying that many people can't be wrong right or wrong?@@Quadcopter101

This is actually the one I would recommend at this price point. Now be careful, there is a cheaper Atom "SE" version which does not have a 3 axis stabilized gimbal.

No, it remembers the takeoff point, and would land there. You'd have to manually fly it back to your boat.
Just ordered mine today and getting it tomorrow. Bought a strobe light so I can see it at night.

From what I have seen, no, they are not. But it is new to the market still. So maybe some will still come out for it. Fingers crossed.

Yes. It's very dependable. Just don't do crazy beginner's things with it, like seeing how high it can fly, or flying outside of visual range with it.
Does it get sats quickly?
Yes it does. It's combined GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou system makes for very rapid GPS lockon.

@@veronabitdidariopaganini2114 I think that you're referring to "Minimum return altitude" which refers to the minimum return to home altitude. But directly below that is the "Virtual Fence" geofence distances of altitude (10 to 800 meters), and distance (20 to 4000 meters). Both can be turned off by activating the "No Limit" button just to their right.

Could you use a battery from an Atom SE in this or does it have to be the Atom battery? They are the same dimensions I am fairly sure.

I watched the entire video waiting for you to demonstrate active track and it never happened 😢. Other than that it was 👍 ok.
I doubt active-track is really gonna work on your motorcycle. It will lose you and you have to stop and stop and ride back and try again. Follow-me works.
@driewiel the active track works so well it stays with me even if my friends ride up beside me and pull away. This is better than my DJI except the picture quality.
@@stackfire9601Then I'm surprised. Maybe you can try that out also when a drone has it? Like for example if someone with a DJI Mini uses Maven, Litchi, or Dronelink. I just know from experience that follow-me is more reliable, even without obstacle avoidance. I can position the drone in view and take over control anytime. While the active track of the Atom only follows from behind. But if you think it works then who am I to say it doesn't?
BTW does the app for the Atom have a homepoint update option? Very important. So you don't have to race back like an idiot if RTH kicks in. If it doesn't then definitely try contact Potensic. It's a must have feature.

See the video at 20:53 < click this number. It's important to aim the flat sides of the antennas at the drone. Do NOT point the tips of the antenna at the drone, as that provides the worst reception.

I'm pretty sure this a FIMI product made for Potensic - at last a real competitor for the basic DJI Mini SE. For the money you pay for the combo I think it is exceptional value for money. The only issue I have with these 250 g drones is they are obviously not very wind resistant - no big deal, just choose decent weather. For a beginner, value for money and performance better than the other ones around $200-250 , I think this will sell well.

Dji Drone are very good at wind resistant, even the Mini SE, the Mini1 is maybe the weaker, but still very good in wind ;)
Now, you can find some Mini2 on the used market, almost unused for 250€, i'm not sure the value is better for that potensic... I'm still convinced, for beginners, the Tello, for 50€, is the perfect starting drone ;) Not wind resistant at all, but if it goes away, it hurt the wallet less ^^'

In the USA, for safety reasons, it's not legal to fly your drone out of visual line of sight. For me, that's around 100 meters with this little drone. I know that there are others that do such, but they are part of the reason why we now have drone registration, and remote ID.

2.4Ghz is for transmitter control of the aircraft (throttle, pitch, roll, yaw). This does not use 5.8Ghz WiFi for video. Instead, the phone is directly connected to the controller through on-the-go cables. The controller has a built-in 5Ghz amplifier/relay for connecting the app with the drone for video signal reception, along with advanced flight control mode controls.
If you want to use a tablet instead of a phone, you have to use a tablet that has 4g or 5g service. Make sure the tablet is no more than a few years old. I bought an 8" Samsung galaxy tab A that was made in 2020 from eBay for $40 and it works good. The older tablets are too slow and the screen freezes constantly. The newer the tablet the better.
You don't really need the 4G/5G data service unless you wish to use the waypoints map feature. You just need a device with 802.11ac WiFi capability. 802.11ac is 5Ghz WiFi, which is a different thing than 5G (Fifth Generation) phone data service.

This drone doesn’t have geofencing, that’s a huge plus. Not to mention it’s quite possible that dji drones are going to be banned.

Why would you buy a used drone, especially at this price? Don't know if it's been crashed. The battery condition is unknown. Also, if defective, how would you send it back? Finally, the DJI Mini 2 only has a 2.7K camera (not 4K), and does not have the Quick Shot modes that this does.

Agreed, the DJI mini doesn't even have a 4K camera, and it also doesn't have all the quick shot modes that this does. It does have longer range, but that's about it.

The comparable drone from DJI (Mini 2 Fly More combo) costs $230 more than this. And that drone does not have 4K video, nor all the Quick Shot features that this has. I agree in the past that DJI did not have much competition. But it seems that those days may be coming to an end.
Look I am not going to agree ever I have flown enough off brad quads to know that they cheap out somewhere and it is usually construction. I straight up fly a lot, and I know for a fact that would never handle the number of flights I do a Year I have tried trust me I have been thru 100s of drone trying to save a buck or two and if I would have just spent the money on a DJI in the first place, I would have been a head. I have an original Mavic with hundreds of flight hours I bought off a friend and I have put many more on it myself and it runs and flies to this day perfectly. I also fly a Mini 2 SE and Air 3 and have never rejected it once. So, five years let me know how that atom is doing would yeah, I like to know how many flight hours you got on it, because that is where the real difference lies, I would say. Remember a company that cares about fit and finish, boxing presentation of a product 99 percent of the time has a better product. I am by no means saying DJI is perfect, but they are perfect at making a durable quality product with imperfections that I can live with.
Then tell me this why does all these brands feel the need to look like a DJI product fold like a DJI product hell even the app looks like a DJI product I can tell you why cause DJI is what people are wanting, buying and flying that many people can't be wrong right or wrong?@@Quadcopter101

I like how you went through all the buttons and controls. Seems like a very nice drone. I’m looking at this 10 months ago now thinking if there’s anything better out there right now before buying one thank you or is this one going to have a update I’m looking at this price point.
This is actually the one I would recommend at this price point. Now be careful, there is a cheaper Atom "SE" version which does not have a 3 axis stabilized gimbal.
