hurdy gurdy cover of "Swan at Upton" (one of my oldies) It needed Becky Price on accordion really but she's miles away so i had to do it myself as you can no doubt hear. It's not really a hurdy gurdy tune. more Breton bombards and binou maybe with a big bagad band, oh well maybe one day. here's some tags to get the viewing figures up... Folk drone, Celtic drone, pagan viking music, Pirate music, vielle a roue, drehleier, zanfona, Blowzabella, Black Sails, Sea of Thieves, Gods of war, the witcher hurdy gurdy, droney gizmo shite

This brings to mind the old-school summer village fetes we had back in the 60s/70s. Simple pleasures, everyone socialising on the playing fields, and when, in my child's memory, it never rained 😁
You know how it is...? You hear something, for the first time and it is so beautiful and joyful...? And the next thing that you know, as the music plays, there are tears of uplifted emotion, slowly trickling down one's cheek. Thank you for this, Nigel.

Love the way your whole body is given to the rythym of all you play and I so love watching your fingers on the keyboard(s) - it's spellbinding! The title of the tune - well I had this romantic notion of wild swans - something like Yeats 'Wild Swans at Coole'', but upon Googling, looks like it's a - - - pub. Thanks - Theresa@Cambridge

Are we allowed two comments for the same video...? Nigel, your video performance of Swan at Upton, has become a little problematic for me, for a couple of reasons. First, I can't stop playing it. Even today, on my early morning walk, I listened to it several times as the light began to awaken the north Lancashire countryside and Swan at Upton could not have put a more positive step into my stride. As I made my way, a second problem came to mind. "Blast", I thought, as the conundrum occurred to me. Yet, once again, I am going to have to reshuffle my funeral music. Not that there are any reasons for me popping off in the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, as I mulled over the play reshuffle requirement for the occasion, I considered the fact that, as a fully paid up atheist, I won't be around for the final play, requested by me, of this beautiful recording. But then I smiled to myself, as I quickly realised that, though that my be the case, those that were good enough to turn up would hear something that said a lot about who I had been.
