Phandroid is the most underrated RUclips reviewer, he deserves millons of subscribers, i actually wat fr yur reviews instead of watching the ones with millions of subs.
Great review! Thanks for taking the time to give so many example shots. Would have been interesting if they would have just added the 5x lens instead of replace the 3x.
The 5x folded prism camera takes up a lot of room. They should have neeed to change a lot of things internally to make room for an extra camera to keep the 3x zoom. You can always digitally zoom to 3x with the main camera and the results will likely be the same or even better since that 3x camera sensor was always incredibly small.
Great Test ! I noticed an excess of green in the photos taken by the iPhone 14 Pro. In your opinion, has the green color been toned down in the iPhone 15 Pro Max or is it always present? Thank you.
Thanks for the video. Shame RUclipsrs don’t focus more on what matters: the ability for a phone camera to capture sharp pictures (with a fast enough shutter speed). In my experience, the 5x lens is really disappointing so far: it focuses much slower, especially indoors, and I’d confidently say only 10-20% of my pictures are sharp whenever taking photos of my 2yo daughter or my dog… not sure why nobody mentions this. Plus all the photos taken with the 5x in low light are really grainy. The main sensor is by far the best, most reliable sensor on the new 15 pro phones.
Seems like you had an epiphany. Zoom/periscope lenses are for specific use cases, they need a lot of light. Sorry you are disappointed however there are and will be many use cases for the 5X. Main lens and sensor will always be the best, thats true for every phone that has ever existed. It funny that people get upset when they expect miracles from a lens sensor combo that they have no idea how to use.
@@ssaini5028thanks for your comment. I totally agree. The problem I have is the autofocus performance coupled with shutter speed: the 5x lens doesn’t work well with fast moving targets. Even in bright daylight. This is a shame.
The main sensor will alway be the best snesor becaue of its size. using 5x indoord in low light conditions is probably the worst scenario possible. My recommendation in that situation would be to use the main camera and zoom to 4.9x. The results will likely be a bit less sharp, but there will be significantly less grain and the shot will also be much brighter.
Good point, however this is why DSLR's were created. It takes a large aperture and a large, if top quality sensor, to almost instantaneously collect and use enough light for fast shooting to be done. Those camera's and lenses are a lot more expensive than any phones will give us@@ChristopheLanglois
To be fair, the ultrawide camera is always the weakest part of a smartphone cmaera experience. the reason is that you have to have a small sensor in order to get the wide field of view, unless you create a messive camera bump out to get more separation between the sensor and the lens. It's a physics probmel more than anything.
Not as impressed as I expected to be. Certainly not as impressed as the pricetag would lead one to believe. Thanks for talking me out of this pricey purchase. I was on the fence but this makes it clear that I can wait one or two releases more.
Thank you for showing shots of some ducks at the park, let’s be honest that’s what most of us will use the zoom for
Extremely good quality for a smartphone
handsdown for this review this is the best review having pictures and videos in different aspects is good..
The first great test video. This iPhone is amazing. I love it!

Gotta say that 5x zoom is wild 👌👌
What does 48mp(24mp) mean? Are you not using the 48mp heif max setting?
Also curious about the differences with that mode and any possible downsides!
No, we always use the default settings.
really amazing ❤❤❤❤ i love it....😊😊
Wow I thought u were going to do iPhone 15 vs pixel 7 pro cam. No RUclipsr as done it as yet
It's coming, along with a few other comparisons. Will likely be published tomorrow or Monday.
@@phandroid Impressive video, lots of real world testing. Whats really cool is native 24MP photos with depth information in a 2-3mb file, crazy
Great Test !

Good that you use the 120 mm the way it is was concept for.
Better good quality at 3x or 4x than 20x zoom or 30 x zoom.
Great video. Lots of good shots, I'm impressed. great location to :)
Great review on the video on the 5x. Thanks
Good review as always.
I can’t get my iPhone 15 pro max to take a 24 mp photo all of them say 18 mp when I swipe up on any pic
Great video. Very informational. Thank you.
Nice video but the big question for most of us is how it compares to the 14 and 13 i.e. is it worth upgrading?
You should never upgrade one year out. You should always wait 2-3 at least.
Keep it up, sir....I like your information.....
I appreciate the support.
awesome review, thanks man ❤
Is it just me? Cuz I think this phone definitely worth the hype 😍
Nice phone maybe in my dream ill touch that phone😂

Thanks for this work :-).
Amazing video, love love this I phone ,specially 5x camera it’s outstanding,I order the same one and same color❤
Nice colour 😊
We'll see about that once we do some proper comparisons.
Have you noticed bigger noise in the background in your photos? Because photos on my 13 pro max have better noise reduction than 15 pro max
How can you say that unless you have both phones to capture side by side photos?
220k subscribers, can't iron his t-shirt before making a video
Who irons a T-shirt.
If thats your WIFE ,
You have a lot to BE PROUD OF Mate 👍🏻
Great video. That ultra wide camera needs an upgrade. That is by far the weakest part of this otherwise great camera system.

Lol some weird bokeh effect going on in the video, haven't watched the whole thing yet but I'm betting it was shot on an iPhone.
focus eyes to falcon flies to 250 Miles per hour,,,,
You kinda look like Robbin Williams
Has anyone tried printing? If so what maximum size of focused and clear prints can be made from these 24MB files without the use of the 5x telephoto?
Who prints photos these days? But if you really want to, most printers recommend 300dpi, so a 12MP photo will give you a nice 11x14 inch print.

Same as 14 pro max.. But zoom setting add
I'd say there is a difference in the camera performance, which is most likely due to software tuning more than anything else.
it's satisfactory, not good
Better than samsung 🤡🤡🤡🤡
@trays7 No, the best camera in mobile Huawei is still winner
