      Mine has been sent back twice still will not feed. I can only get 1 or 2 shots then it will not feed the next shot. This will be the third time. I keep it clean and oiled I have 4 different mags and have used several types of ammo. Sig federal Winchester remington hornady. I'm just over it. Its junk.

    I too purchased the same stainless 11, first time at the range after 6 rounds the rear sight blew off the slide, ok, called and got the return tag, sent it back and 4 days later returned. The service staff was very nice, and apologized. Back to the range, tried to adjust the sight, no detente could be felt. I unscrewed the elevation and found one of the two springs out out place and squashed down. I send the pistol back again. I aired my displeasure with the product. Again, the people that you talk to on the phone are real nice. Pistol returned in 3 days. Keep in mind that I have not shot a box of ammo through this pistol. The next 200 rounds were a struggle, fail to chamber, fail to eject. Called back again, expressed very unhappy , reviewed history with consultant. The lady the I spoke with was very concerned with my satisfaction . Pistol was returned in a week. Four years later, and couple thousands, the finest pistol I ever owned. I'm so happy with Kimber I own 3 more.

    Good job commenting on the customer service aspect of Kimber. First, I know this first hand what you went thru; Second, while these are terrific firearms, you have to do a little homework for a 1911 and it's worth it. I had the same problem on the same model. Two tips if I can offer after everything I have researched, learned, etc; 1) Feed ramp must be polished; machine marks will create FTF, Stove pipes; I could actually see the feed rampe machine marks and it's simple to polish out 2) Extractor; I am certain Kimber looked at your tension on the extractor so no need to adjust here and 3) oil: leaving this firearm in your safe for a month or two, you need to check it and oil the slides. Kimber did the same for my same issues and sent the letter. For example, reamed the throat, barrel check and tension on the extractor. Excellent job. But now that you know a few tips, how to send it back which would concern anyone (like me) they test it with various ammo before sending home. Bottom line, the feed ramp being 'mirror' is critical on a 1911. Nobody tells you that when you buy a 1911 (reaming the barrel, adjustments, etc....) . Otherwise, the Kimber Stainless II 1911 is simply outstanding. I've not had an issue again.

    • @countcrotchula92
      @countcrotchula92  6 лет назад

      Thank you for all of the great info. I did read somewhere about getting my feed ramp polished but at the time the issues weren't happening often enough to annoy me. Just recently it really got to me and that's what made me contact Kimber cause I felt like I shouldn't have to do/pay for anything to get this pistol to shoot how it is supposed to. Most of what you mentioned I already knew about prior to buying this pistol but either way thanks for the info! I will say that it feels/shoots like a completely different gun now. I guess I was so used to the way it used to feel, it's almost like I have to re-learn this one! I have an update video coming out soon, now that I took it to the range so be on the look out for it!

    Man when u rack u have to put some man muscle in it. Back when I first started shooting I remember the guy teaching me told me when I rack or chamber a round to not be scared. And it's true. It's a quick forceful movement. Anything less u risk jams

      Trust me I do, and I'm not scared either but I'm reaching around the camera so it's a little difficult. But for some reason this particular Kimber was always really hard to rack, even after 600+ rounds. My dad has the same pistol and after the same amount of rounds his was a little easier to rack.

    I have a Kimber Custom II that experienced the same thing with fail to feed, or feeding but not going into full battery. This was most prevalent when racking the slide to strip the first round. This started at about 1,000 - 1,200 rounds. This would happen with the stock Kimber mags and the after market MecGars I run in the other 1911s. I switched the recoil spring with a new 16 pound Kimber spring and the trouble cleared up. After the next 1,000 rounds, the trouble was back. I switched to a Wilson Combat 17 pound flat wound and .250 guide rod with a shock buffer. So far, it has never let me down. No trouble with any thing else.

    Kimber competes with higher end 1911s like Wilson, Dan Wesson, Les Behr etc. They have very tight tolerances and need a break in. Polishing the feed ramp is in my opinion first priority. As soon as I purchased my Super Carry Custom HD I also added almost complete parts kit with Wilson Combat. Then I tossed the Kimber mag in the trash and bought a bunch of WC 8 rounds mags. Glad you had a good experience with customer service. Oh and try not to limp wrist any 1911. You certainly have a beautiful example of the 1911!

    You probably need to just shoot it more man. Thats a solid billet machined pistol, the tolerances are super super tight you need to shoot it more than a normal gun to break it i. Ummm…I’m the beginning, you’re handling it too softly and not allowing the gun to do what it supposed to. Towards the end, you actually let it “cycle” fully without dampening the recoil spring. It’s a chunk of metal…you’re not going to break it…it’s suppose to be loud and make a ruckus when racking…not try to slow it down by dragging your thumb as you release the slide. Just looks like user error from handling too gingerly. Great gun btw.

    99% of ftf and fte are caused by the ammo, those cheap Kimber mags or operator errors. I don't have any of the problems of so many complaints I read about on RUclips. Keep your gun clean and lubed, don't ever use cheap ammunition especially the SHIT steel and aluminum at big box stores, buy quality mags and throw away the Kimber mags that come with it, and don't "limp wrist" the pistol at the range. Kimber makes quality guns, I own several including both the ultra 2 models in 45 acp and 9mm.

      I really do love this pistol but I had issues on and off since I bought it (new). At first I thought maybe it was the ammo, so I tried a ton of different brands with the same results. I keep my firearms well oiled (not too much) and very clean all the time, and always give a thorough cleaning after every range day for the same reasons you mentioned above. Honestly the gun is way too new still in my opinion to have to change out the springs, but I will definitely read over the manual again. After Kimber changed out all of those parts it's running way better like night and day difference. I will be putting out an update video so stay tuned and thanks for watching!

    Omfg. The reason the slide was hard to rack every 1st time is due to it being s single action and the hammer wasn’t engaged. If the hammer had been down, due to you racking the slide it would make the slide “lighter” for you to rack. That’s what you’re complaining about? Ffs..

    It’s a lemon, Kimber lover’s will never call Kimber out for putting out some garbage weapons because for some reason they believe that God himself personally crafts this brand of 1911 therefore there is no fault with Kimber and that couldn’t be any further from the truth.

    Do NOT push the slide back to rack it, SLAM it!

  • @andog6092
    @andog6092 2 года назад

    You are causing it. The way you are racking the slide is causing the malfunction. This same issue happened with the p220

    Listen up fellas, I know I am riding the slide home. This pistol would jam up regardless of me riding the slide or not. I needed to fully test it before I could say the work Kimber did fixed everything.

      1911's need a 2-5 hundred round break-in.
      If you don't believe me ill buy it

    Remeber guys. DO NOT USE THE ORIGINAL CLIPS ON MOST GUNS, THEY ARE TRASH. BUY AFTER MARKET AND YOU WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. I FIND THE SAME PROBLEM IN EVERY GUN AND ALL MY LONG GUNS. THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. BUY A GOOD BRAND DONT GO CHEAP ON THE CLIPS. ALSO DONT BUY CHEAP AMMO. THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK GUYS. IF YOU BOUGHT A KIMBER YOU WONT REGRET IT. GOOD LUCK

    At least open up the box and give us something to look at while you talk. Hold the gun in your hand and twirl it around so we can at least admire it while you tell us your life story.😂
