As a beginner, I have discovered that when trying to harmonize the melody of a song or trying to find the chords to a song, sometimes two or more different chords will sound nice. How do I know the exact chord to use and what better ways can I find the chords to a song also do I need to play chords to every note of a song?

In gospel style of playing, you don't need to play a chord on every note.
