(A lot of my problems don’t happen in the fnaf art community from what I’ve seen) "Why is the AI breathing/taking so many pauses?" I don't think my Elizabeth is "obsessed" with ice cream. If she is there's a good reason. When my Liz was alive, the rule at the Afton household was one dessert night a month if you behave. They were trying to be good parents, but it is part of the reason my Liz was so excited when Circus Baby made the ice cream for her.
I think that is a perfect characterization of why Elizabeth would like ice cream so much! What I meant with "obsession" is that being part of her core personality, or having no reason behind it! Thank you for your input!
mine likes ice cream bc shes 4 lol. Also William was super fat (canon in the novel until he became insane and unhealthy) and so their was always deserts n stuff in the house, but her brothers woukd eat it before she could bc yk brothers.

3:16 I personally have seen this more with Michael, even in my own old self. With William, I only ever see people saying “he killed kids, but oh well! Who cares, he’s ‘hot’.” (Eugh) But for Michael, I think instead of excusing the stuff he did as envy or trauma or whatever, it’s more important to acknowledge and understand the “fact” (since barely anything is canon lol) that Michael recognized he did something wrong. That he knows he’s a bad person, and doesn’t forgive himself for it even if others do. You can absolutely hate him for what he did, and honestly, you SHOULD hate what he did even if you love him as a character. (Also personally, I think Mike still was envious, but I’m talking about when people will use it to justify what he did to C.C.-) Edit: I also would like to add to the Henry thing, that I feel a good way to describe him is he loved his kids, but he was unknowingly neglectful. Still doesn’t make him a good person, tho
This is rant, is the best I've see so far. There were a lot of key points you've said, that I've agree with. As someone who writes books, I've spend a lot of hours working on my AU. From explaining how characters know each. How certain characters posses animatronics, and why other don't. To spending hours writing different backstorys, to help EXPLAIN how a character acts and behaves towards others and how those actions have heavy consequences. If it’s okay with you, I would like to share this video.

The points about Elizabeth are so real. It's gotten a bit better now as a lot of the fandom has matured, but people used to NOT be able to handle her character with nuance. It was always either she was the evil mastermind or some innocent angel, when she is neither of those things. Victim and villain are not mutually exclusive titles. I saw very similar treatment of Six in the Little Nightmares fandom.

I love this video so much especially on the Elizabeth/Cassidy demonization part like first of all Elizabeth did only one horrible thing in CANON SERIES which is essentially murder, her brother to escape years of torture (seeing how the fun times animatronics were treated) And being bossy (which is a normal child thing by the way) and with Cassidy, she’s completely valid in her hatred for William. This is the man that murdered her who in their right mind wouldn’t be upset at the fact that they were murdered and their killer got away for years

Even if he was real, bro would be either a *teen or a young adult mentally* due to being dead while Mike, who legit always looked baby-faced bc I guess the creators just couldn't make older people which I kinda understand w/ Gacha Life, who is at least in his *50s' or 60s'.* Also, there's highly likely other damn *kids* in Ennard! Like, I loathe the way kids dismissed the Mennard criticism by just ignoring that last part & just using "Noah" & the fact that Elizabeth got kicked out & that Ms. Afton -highly likely if not just- does not possess Ballora! I admit that I used to be an ally of this ship, but it drives me crazy in hindsight.
This is very true- especially the not taking a serious topic seriously part. In some AUs, William will abuse Micheal HUGELY. And later William will just half heartedly apologize and all Micheal does is smile and accept it. Not much thought is put into it- but when people ACTUALLY take it seriously and make sure to treat it lightly and take notice of what abuse actually is, it definitely can be taken more seriously by viewers.
I am fine with fnaf OCs but I generally hate the AUs that have those from a whole different fandom and make them Aftons, it doesn't make sense at all to add them as they have different story lines and stuff Examples: Izuku Afton, Kasuki Afton, Marrienette Afton (not sure if I spelled the last first name right), it doesn't work with fnaf to add them in there because they're an entirely different fandom altogether

@@Stormy_Echos I feel the exact same way. And then they don't even attempt to develop some sort of reason why it would work. Just a basic "oh *insert character* was in hiding or just keeping it a secret" to validate it. What about the character's family from their actual fandom? Why are they living with them as their child if they're "actually" an Afton? As you stated, it doesn't make sense to begin with. I could maybe (and I'm stretching the maybe) see some hypothetical connection or neat idea for it as an AU if they gave a proper backstory or explanation. But, they don't. It reminds me of the "characters from *insert fandom* react to *insert chraacter*'s life as *another character from another fandom*" reaction type videos. Thankfully, this sort of thing has died off for the most part.
@LavenderTheBookOsbessedNerd fr, like, I get maybe crossover videos from two different fandoms or one fandom reacting to a different fandom (as a whole not just one character) because that's always interesting to see but like you said, they put no real reason that lines up when they mash those fandoms together
1. The books follow a different story but they are CANON. A reimagined FNAF story. Books are not canon to the games. Games are not canon to the books. Different stories. Books are canon but not to be used to explain or even talk about game lore.
2. Comment isnt showing or got deleted. Here is what Scott said (comment that I wrote but cant see): Is the book canon? I just wanted to talk about this a little bit to put everyone's mind at ease. I've gotten a lot of e-mails complaining that the book doesn't match up with one or more of the games. Even some of the reviews on Amazon chatise the book for not matching the games, something that i should have explained very early on is that the book is NOT intended to solve anything. It's not intented to be a guide for the games, or to fill in gaps. The games are what they are, and as I stated before, that story is finished. Something that I said in one of the forum threads about this, is that sometimes the lore of something can become so crowded that you can't tell an original story anymore. The games and the books should be considered to be separate continuities, even if they do share many familiar elements. So yes, the book is canon, just as the games are. Thst doesn't mean that they are intended to fit togheter like two puzzle pieces. I would actually ask anyone wanting to read the book, even if you are a devout fan of the games, to read the book for the sake of enjoying the book, and don't try to "solve" anything. The book is a re-imagining of the Five Night's at Freddy's story, and if you go into it with that mindset, I think you will really enjoy it! :)
In my AU, I’ve never shipped the kids cuz like, no- But I do make them have tiny crushes sometimes! (But they all went away after deaths) It’s only like 2 ppl anyways (both one-sided, and both now dead.) I hope that isn’t that weird, they’re like 9-10 so it isn’t super romantic or smt like that!! (If it is super weird though, I can get rid of them! They don’t serve any major parts anyways, just tiny details.)
I strongly agree with the au thing because in mine William took cc from the hospital in some way and started experimenting with cc to try and find ways to immortality and bring his son back. When the missing children incident happened, he said that cc had also went missing around the same time. The incident is like a string of disappearances instead of straight up five or six children going missing at the same time.

@@TheKlownKid I also believe cc's name to be Cassidy if anything because "Cassidy" is a gender-neutral name and I find it to make sense in my au due to the fact that the whole thing that happened to him would make him a vengeful spirit even though he doesn't remember why.

2:53 I feel like an age gap is okay, as long as the character is above the age of eighteen and we’re not shipping 70 year olds with people who just became an adult. Age gaps kind of vary from person to person(and I know you said this was your opinion) but I just wanted to tell you mine. I personally feel like an age gap like 15 years is morally acceptable and that’s because it depends on the person. I just don’t feel that it is necessary to point out age gaps because I don’t want anyone to feel bad if they have a relationship with an age gap. I’ve met(or more accurately seen in person) a couple that had a ten(give or take) year age gap, and they were really sweet to each other. Sorry for the rant, I just felt like saying this. Also, I LOVE YOUR DESIGN FOR YOUR OC. You leaned into the semi-realistic and I love it!
The AU thing has always been weird to me but I'm starting to have a more open mind about things, especially AUs and ships I don't agree with. In my opinion, the only time AUs are truly 'bad' is when the creator is using it as an excuse to age up characters for a ship or ship characters with a child/adult, etc. weird stuff like that. Especially on the aged up stuff. It's always been so gross to me how their excuse as to why they can ship a child with an adult is because they aged the child up, and that it's their 'AU'
I remember making the tormenters in Gacha like 3 years ago. Remind you, I made their designs based off of my memory and also kinda my own imagination. Safe to say, I got so many hate comments for not making the Bonnie mask guy 'dark' enough, but I didn't do it on purpose and when I tried to explain nobody listened. But remember, there will always be one sane person in your comments section who will defend and understand you because I didn't do it maliciously. I just wanted to share my opinion, because I've been on the receiving end of hate from many fandoms for not being accurate enough, for people disliking my AU's or ships, etc. Every fandom has it, and the haters will always manage to outshine the people who support you because their words hurt more than how wonderful the support feels. To that I say; screw them. If anybody here is thinking of making any sort of content, please do, and if somebody hates it, well that's on them, because they're wasting THEIR time, so don't allow them to waste yours. I Like the video and Agree with all your takes so I wanted to add one that annoys me! So, the 'stuffing the children in the animatronic suits' thing really annoys me because in almost all the au's I've seen (especially after the movie came out) make it so that William stuffed the kids in the suits and as you said, it's an au so in general I have no problem/really like it when they deviate from canon/insert their own ideas, BUT in almost all cases (probably because it's so popular) they act as if it is canon and it just annoys me when a thing that isn't canon appears in SO MANY different aus because sometimes I just don't know if they just like that for their au or if they think it's canon. I mean the fnaf fandom already has so few actually canon things and then to act as if the mini-game of the puppet 'giving' the dead kid their suits doesn't exist just kind of make me mad whenever I see it because we literally SEE the Puppet place the animatronics heads on the dead kids, so If I'm not stupid and those are 4 other dead kids, the Puppet was the one to stuff the kids in the animatronics. Again I don't mind/like changes to canon, but when 1 specific change happens SO often, that you see less canon (especially if the canon actually exists and is this 'obvious') than this au, idk it just makes me rage a bit
It's funny how people obsess over making things canon when we barely understand anything about FNAF canon. Deviating from canon shouldn't be an issue in this fandom. We barely have anything to go off of to begin with, so might as well have fun creating AUs to explain things our own way

Because he was acting me to make the character white. But I feel the character looked better with darker skin, and I liked how it looked… racist little 8-year-old 🥲
while it wasn't ok for him to try and force you to make the character white, I feel like it would've been better to explain to him why that isn't ok and why we shouldn't force people to change the race of characters, instead of yelling at him and stuff.
I agree with all of this so hard omg, I can't believe we are having the "canon au" conversation in 2024 😭 it's like people don't know what the term AU is also somebody who also thinks ppl can ship the suits of the animatronics!! people always assume that if someone ships any of the suits theyre also shipping the souls, but the souls themselves are hardly ever portrayed as the suits they're in and viceversa in this fandom, I never understood why ppl assume the worst when it comes to that
Fr, Cassidy, Elizabeth, C.C and sometimes the missing children gets so often demonised and even bases their entire personality to being angry all the time.
I've been in this part of the fandom for a while too, from the content creation angle and the viewer angle and something that really bugs me is C.C.'s characterisation. It always seems so monotonous and same-y in most of the videos I've seen. People don't try anything new with the guy and just keep dragging the 'child turned angry psycho' thing with him too (just this time without any depth),,, I've seen a few good ones that give C.C. a more nuanced character but a lot of them just seemed to be used only to push Michael's main character status forward,,, Didn't mean for this to turn into a rant comment or whatever but i needed to get it out (@_@)
I was 9 when I discovered fnaf! Everytime I make a fnaf au I scrap it because my autistic brain goes "Oooo New AU idea" and I just scrap it all- How do you stick with an au for so long?
My only au that’s stayed the same is my security breach AU where the Glamrock’s (EXCEPT BONNIE) were all programmed to be siblings, Gregory is a human child from a not-so-good-home that he was kicked out of, DJMM can only communicate through remixed clips of lyrics in the songs he plays, and instead of just one Eclipse (the one we saw in ruin) in the daycare attendant(who also are siblings), it’s 3; Eclipse (ruin DLC) Lunar (A softer variant of Moon with the task of healthcare for the children) And Solar (Basically that old Eclipse the entire fandom flocked to when we saw the glitched Sun face in the Balloon world minigame) 💀💀 AND EVEN THEN I KEEP ADDING ONTO IT- because I keep thinking of OC’s💀 like I literally just added “Gloom” the dog last night after my friend bought me an adoptable-OC for Christmas…😭

I honestly have no idea why Cassidy so demonized, like this kid were most mysterious(cassidyvictim or cassidysis theories for example)than angry(in fnaf 3 5th soul just go away like other souls, but not put William in personal hell) Making Henry saint is so funny, like William who made animatronic for his daughter and warned her(it was day they just opened, so he could go to cb w Elizabeth later idk) is bad, but Henry who left his, ~3-7 years old daughter on rainy night is literally hero.(I also can't believe, that Henry didn't know about what William doing, like how would HE know Elizabeth in circus baby? Intuition? Or William had his own dairy or what?) And Elizabeth is just my personal pain. She's my fav character, and she only "daddy will be proud" or "nah, I'm gonna be manipulative brat because I can", I dgaf if someone do this, but she really have no personality at this point..
I literally agree tho! I have a lot of AUs for lots of different games/shows (I have 3 for MD, 1-2 for Hazbin, 20+ for TADC lmao and so and and so forth), and I don’t deem it as canon! I try to keep it close to canon in both shows, but I’m not gonna say “MY STUFFS CANON STFU >:(“

My son does this gacha thing. to avoid hate comments on the skin tones things, he makes the robots skin a lighter color of their fur color in the games, and their hair the fur color. (so bonnie has purplish hair and lavender skin). for human designs, he usually just does canon or whatever fits his uh... 'AU' or whatever. He wrote the whole au thing down in a book. It's like 100 pages...

I agree with most of this, but we have to remember that we can’t change them to an extent, even if it is an AU, because they’re Scott Cawthon’s characters not ours. Scott endorses fan games, which are basically fan fictions, so I don’t really care about OCs (Mostly). I also get annoyed when people think it’s okay to make a white character black but then it’s not okay to make a black character white? I think both should be bad. Racism isn’t specific to black people, even if it’s more severe for them. I’m not white myself, but I still think it’s a bit strange that more people don’t talk about it. You could argue that making a white character black wouldn’t change anything because there are no cultural or racial effects made by it, but then making black characters white is deemed wrong no matter the context. I just think both shouldn’t be allowed. And I agree with the rest of your video, especially the demonization of the children. I hate people who even make alive Elizabeth a friendless psycho even though she hadn’t even died yet.
@@Melroseyyy to me, A lot of these characters in game canon, do not have substance/personalities to them so it’s up to the fans to add to them! Maybe this is just me having Undertale as one of my core fandom’s as a child, but I personally think you’re free to do whatever you want with an AU, as long as it sticks to some of the bare bone basics of canon! I’m not gonna comment on the 'race washing' thing as that is a whole other can of worms that I do not have the credentials to comment on. And I do agree on that last bit about making Elizabeth a sociopathic friendless person when alive

I honestly hate the whole Elizabeth liking icecream post death thing to be honest. Like, I feel like a thing people don’t talk about enough with ghosts of people who died in accidents is that if they ever saw something that reminded them of what happened, they would probably freak out! This is likely worse for children. You can’t tell me that the ghost of a child who had their life taken from them in an accident would see something associated with what happened and not start freaking out because of the memories. I don’t think Elizabeth would like icecream after she died due to the memories that it would cause her to have. But I don’t know, everybody sees ghosts differently I guess.

@@hyamay that is essentially what happened in the security puppet minigame, but she was still left alone, which is the important thing to me at least, long enough for that to happen! If he had been a better father and kept an eye on her better, she wouldn’t have died And building the security puppet to watch her doesn’t make him any better to me, he’s just putting something in place of him to watch his child

My au cc=cassidy, and context: he survived the bite but was severly brain damaged, and needed constant care, until 85' william got sick of him and banged his head against the wall until he died, and william claimed he died to his injuries. Thats why hes so vengful, especially since he saw charlies death before the bite, william LITERALLY started eating her infront of him until the puppet came, and yk how many people have said "ERM ACKSHUALLY, THATS NOT CANON, YOU CANT DO THAT!1!!!1!!!!!1!1!!111"

3:25 my William has trauma, BUT I just use it as an explanation, not an excuse. What he did was still horrible, and his past is only there to show why he turned out that way. He’s not meant to pitied.
I once used to ship Circus Baby and Funtime Freddy for the simple reason that in an AU of a FNaF GachaTuber I really liked Freddy hated her because he was the only Freddy who wasn't the leader (if you're curious about who the GachaTuber is, it's Gwen la Gattina)
I like that you bring up the problem with people saying William has “trauma” and then using it as an excuse for literal CM. In my AU, he was actually investigated by the police, and they found mountains worth of evidence against him. Authorities wont just say “Oh? You had a bad childhood? Okay! I guess we just won’t arrest you~!❤️”
Ikr like they give him trauma and he’s like “guys I just..(insert trauma here) that’s why I killed you all” and then his family is all like “I FORGIVE YOU FOR KILLING US AND ALL THOSE KIDS :D!!!😇😇😇” like hello? 😭😭😭😭
That's why i have William a bad trauma but was used as tactic to make everyone feel sympathy. That's actually how some of famous serial killers used that methods.
The AU part reminds me when this one person in a game got upset on why I made my Elizabeth black but I was lazy to tell them why so I said “It’s not canon” and they fr said “Ok good” and I was fr like HELLO?! WTF DOES “Ok good” MEAN?!
Before I opened this video I believed there will be so many annoying anti-fun opinions that I've been met with in literally EVERY type of video like this. And I was actually pleasantly surprised to see that I actually agree with many/all of your points Though I got to say a few things because I am too much of a yapper not to 0:47 While I do agree with most of the things stated here, I also believe that IF certain characters have canon skin tones presented in the games or mentioned in the books, then they should stay similar to those in the AUs as well. And while yeah, the books are not entirely canon, they still have some stuff that give you the idea of what could be canon in the games (for example, Henry's family tree). As long as the skin tone is not canon, you are more than free to use your imagination! 1:30 What I find even worse in this scenario is when they trash on AUs for not being canon and then say that the actual canon is **insert some theory by game theorist**. @@EnbyBee the *only* time where I get even remotely bothered over skin color is when the Bonnie & Chica bullies' skin are brightened up / *legit white*; they may not have much character, per say, but they are some of the only confirmed POCs in the main series of games so far - other than some other FNaF 4 kids & Cassie from Ruins. That & the characters actually get used as characters in many AUs - & are seemingly the only ones to get that treatment, so it legit feels a bit worse. Thankfully, I don't even see that happen too much anymore with Mike & Freddy Bully even having their tans on top of the whole diversifying & raceswapping thing with some characters. (:

Warning: Huge yap session Alright, firstly I want to say something about the skin tones. I think it really varies between characters like for example, if i were to make one of the fazbear frights characters that as no canon skin color like Samantha from coming home i think that would be perfectly fine because again she doesn't have a canon skin tone or really a design. I think it would be fine for someone to change the hair or eyes or clothing of the character as long as the skintone is kept the same. But for characters like Cassie, she has a cannon design so it would kind of be weird in the long run for people to whitewash her same with reverse situation. Characters like Charlie I think are fine to change the skin tone because in the minigame she is grey and the books aren't canon. For Henry being not completely innocent, I have to add that I think it could vary depending on au. I think in canon you are completely correct but i've seen aus were 1985 murders happen before Charlie's death and Henry gets arrested because William blames him. Therefore he is in prison, unable to protect his child. Or she couldve not been outside too long in the first place. Potential she was out there for 5 minutes and William saw his chance. I don't know but i think you should let it vary between aus. Other then these small edits i think you did a great job adressing these issues! Have a good day.

However, to make his character more nuanced/realistic (if you want ^^). Seeing him unpack that later in life and realize how messed up his fathers parental style was! The fandom is just really bad with characterization in general. Cassidy isn't shown to be vengeful; Micheal is more indifferent to the horrors he sees, like being scooped an "oh damn," Vibe.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think we knew where Henry was or what he was doing when Charlie died. I don’t think it’s fair to call Henry neglectful when we don’t know the full story of what happened that night, especially when anyone could have found her and brought her inside. Imo, I think it’s all Williams fault why she died. No hate though! I agree with a lot of your points in this video :)

Yeah, she could've been playing with the other kids while he worked, and they might've locked her outside as a joke and left. It's not fair to assume he's a bad dad. It honestly seems like he resents William for not only killing his daughter but also killing kids and trapping them in suits.

As a OLD FNAF fan, jeez.. How did this go to a game where you survived 5 nights to shipping wars (No I did not fight people for their opinion as a foxy x mangle shipper) and I feel like I left the fandom at a GREAT time. I love this video, i would want to say my opinion on the fourth point though There are aus in which Glitchtrap exists as a another entity different from William- i personally can only sympathize with William in 3 type of aus, 1 the ones that make him have a insane glitch side because of past experiments, and so he can't control his own actions and should actually be helped, because those experiments both make him feel pain and make him do things he hates doing like murder, 2 is when Glitchtrap is an entity different from William, that controls William, in that aus all the fault is of Glitchtrap, and William suffering because of the yellow rabbit actions is unfair and cruel, then 3 is half and half, while i think he should get incarcerated in a mental facility for it- those aus in which he went insane after his children died, those aus are mostly him being a good dad, trying to be a good husband, but failing, and so losing his mind trying to use remnant and bring his family back, that is unhealthy, and if he received the good amount of help I'm sure he could move on, and realize just the extent of what he did Except in those aus, in the ones in which William is an abuser, a sadist, or a psychopath because of his own choice, i absolutely support the missing children decision on ending him, those aus William CAN'T BE JUSTIFIED IN ANY WAY! I really like how you explained how Henry ain’t an saint so I’m gonna yap bout my au all of the disordered i put in I research before putting in and are still finding out more so any new information helps In my au that i haven’t posted about yet Susie got killed just before Charlie death (in my au most of the missing didn’t know eachother before they died so most of them got killed in different months and days and some died in different years). the reason why Elizabeth like ice cream so much well she likes all sweets and she also likes fast food an lot is because they were only allowed to have it once in an while (in my au I got this form the book she has narcissism in my au but she not like evil evil like in some aus. Henry was definitely an better father then Willam but he were the best father or person in my au the reason why Charlie was left outside for so long was because of Henry was in an meeting with someone while William was supposed to be in the meeting he pretended to be sick and went out drinking and when he saw Charlie alone he took it as an opportunity to off another kid since he an psychopath who lacks empathy also he planned Elizabeth death in my au. Henry found out it was Willam who killed his daughter but didn’t have enough evidence to tell the police so then when Micheal asked Henry if the prank he was gonna pull on c.c was safe Henry said yes since he wanted revenge on Willam then boom bite of 83 happens. Also Willam was a neglectful father who would leave his children for hour on end alone and would force Micheal to watch c.c and Elizabeth but Micheal ain’t innocent either he bullied c.c for fun but Micheal did changed. C.c nightmare are just his imagination and in my au past c.c had depression and c.c saw Susie get stuffed into chica but since William was in the spring Bonnie suit c.c thought spring Bonnie killed the little girl Willam ofc didn’t saw c.c or he would have off c.c to cover up his crimes and after the bite c.c memory became hazy

i use an AU bcs i don't want people to ask 'who the hell are they?", for the fact i have fanmade characters for my FNAF gacha vids, i just don't want to have an arguements in the comments, that's my reason for having an AU. Everyone can make make their vids whoever they want, except for unacceptable things, for example like natsu's AU natsu has unique way to make her FNAF vids eventhough it's not canon, for the fact she already gave us warning at the beginning, IDFC if someone hated me for typing all of these, i'm just saying things from my opinions
Honestly i agree with a lot of this video, people should be able to go wild with there AU's but ya i do hate when people say there AU is canon while also hating people that try to focus AUs to follow canon. People should be able to make their own story while using the lore, their own idea of how things might have gone down or if thing were different. For 3, I also agree with the shipping bit, dont make ships with major age gaps and no Incest however i also hold the caveat that if you have the kids age after death so that they are of age then it fine to ship them together; this is mainly due to how if they have aged with each other and only having each other to talk with "if you have them possessing the ability to talk to each other in your AU", that relationships could form or you can have them trauma bonding with each other. for 4, Ya i do hate the trauma/mental illness as an excuse for Williams actions "though the same can be said for cassidy", but its great when you use it reasoning if you do it right. like you can say "hay dude has trauma or a mental illness so he did some fucked up things, not saying its right just a reason" is something i love because it gives his character more depth, more lore but again you have to do it right. its a great way to expanded an AU while giving reasoning or backstory for why a character not just William might act or you can just use it explain why he did things in lore. *side note, the only real physical abuse i have seen or read about that we know for sure happened that is not assumptions was with Elizabeth in the fnaf books were after she had pushed him 3 times while he was working he hit her once, which seems more like a guy with anger issues then full on abuse. yes i know just a single hit can count as abuse and I'm not saying it was right but it was in the 80s and parents were much more strict and physical back then "parents spanking kids with a belt, or slapping their kids". As for emotional abuse, again its kinda mostly assumptions as we have no real idea what was going on with Williams life at the time where he was neglectful/not around with CC; Plus we have no idea if William did or didnt do anything about Michael bulling CC, he might have punished Michael but Michael kept going or he might not have. for 5, I disagree that people shouldn't demonize Cassidy. Cassidy is not innocent and she lost her justification for what she had been doing to William by the end, full stop. Let me go over why, first off we have no idea how the missing kids died, unless there is some new and obscure lore i have missed we just don't know, could be killed with a knife or a fire-axe and it was long and brutal or it was a quick and painless death that they were unaware about. Again we just don't know, but for the sake of arguing lets say William stab them all to death with a knife but he did so quickly so that they didnt scream. Ok so a somewhat painful death and there bodies are stuffed into the animatronics, so far so good. However we then have no idea what there life as ghost were like, you can make guess but you have no idea. Honestly i firmly believe that besides Cassidy and Charlotte the others are not even aware of what is going on, this is due to what the puppet says in UCN "The others are like animals, but I am very aware." but even if they were aware they have each other so more then likely not a majorly isolating experience just a majorly boring one. Anyway back on topic i do agree they have every right to want William dead and guess what, they got what they wanted, William was killed by spring bonnie by springlocks, which i might add would be incredibly painful, then the guy gets locked up and left to rot for 30 years in the backroom, which we know was would be way more time spent dead then the missing kids. so just to recap, dude dies a incredibly painful death "which was more then likely even more painful then the missing kids death", then is left alone for 30 years "which was longer then the missing kids"; sounds like vengeance was done, justification for doing stuff to William gone, time to pack up and move on to what comes after in the FNAF universe. Buttt wait he's back as springtrap...... and the fnaf 3 fire burns the building down along with their OG animatronic bodies, as such he's not their problem anymore, they got vengeance them sticking around is just making there lives worse plus they might just making things even worse. ignoring that they caused him to become springtrap they should just move on, the fire should have been hot enough to melt there remnant anyway. "side note, if you believe in the Molten MCI theory while also ignoring the flaws in said theory, then just ignore this bit" Time pass's and we get the good old pizza sim, stuff happens and the whole thing burns down again. William is now dead, dead and the kids should have no more slack in this game but then Cassidy comes long, little Mrs/Mr special who is also not special. Who then makes it their job to torture William while also dragging all the other missing kids along with their little rage bit, trapping them as stated by Withered Bonnie "What is this new prison? Is it me trapped, or is it you? Perhaps, it's us both." which could just be torture for the other souls as do you want to see your killer after so long? "o but they get to kill him over and over" cool but that shit gets old fast and unless Cassidy lets go they are ALL stuck with William. "but William deserves it and Cassidy is just giving William what he deserves" cool, not Cassidy's place to say what William does and does not deserve. that should go to all the missing kids and as we have seen in UCN, its just Cassidy running the show. so ya in the end cassidy is a demonic little child that is happily torturing William while not caring about the other missing kids, the only important one is cassidy, cassidy, cassidy as such, cassidy is not innocent and has long lost any justification they had. so ya i think thats all i have to really comment about, comment if you disagree, would love to talk about why. But personally, I think Cassidy has every right to want him to be tortured over and over in Williams hell, children process things in different ways, like anger and hate and don’t have the proper understanding of what to do with that! While the other children were able to move on, Cassidy wasn’t, I don’t think they understand how to let go of that. Those are just my personal thoughts based on my own painful experiences. (Also, dying by a knife or an axe is probably very painful, as bleeding out is not fun Xp) Of course, canonically. We have no idea what’s going through the characters heads! :)

And then Circus Baby, she really liked Circus Baby and questioned William why she couldn't go near, because she didn't know it was going to kill her. I have an au where the fnaf 4 tormentors posses the Funtimes,and one of them is a son of Henry born out of marriafe and I made this au non canon,as what I made is not canon for me but just theories!My fnaf 4 tormentors are just 3 dudes hanging in Ennard / Mltn Freddy and im ofc aware that surely Mrs Afton didn't kill them if they're dead in canon,also Im thinking if they should be in a sort of poly relationship but idk.Henry was a bad father to Sammy,the fnaf 4 bully and another son,he had tried to have kids with his wofe but didnt suceed.In 1970 he had a secret child born out of marriage and so in 1972,till he managed to get Charlie and Sammy in 1980 with his wife.

I don't think my Elizabeth is "obsessed" with ice cream. If she is there's a good reason. When my Liz was alive, the rule at the Afton household was one dessert night a month if you behave. They were trying to be good parents, but it is part of the reason my Liz was so excited when Circus Baby made the ice cream for her.
I think that is a perfect characterization of why Elizabeth would like ice cream so much!

I personally have seen this more with Michael, even in my own old self.
With William, I only ever see people saying “he killed kids, but oh well! Who cares, he’s ‘hot’.” (Eugh)
But for Michael, I think instead of excusing the stuff he did as envy or trauma or whatever, it’s more important to acknowledge and understand the “fact” (since barely anything is canon lol) that Michael recognized he did something wrong. That he knows he’s a bad person, and doesn’t forgive himself for it even if others do. You can absolutely hate him for what he did, and honestly, you SHOULD hate what he did even if you love him as a character.
(Also personally, I think Mike still was envious, but I’m talking about when people will use it to justify what he did to C.C.-)
Edit: I also would like to add to the Henry thing, that I feel a good way to describe him is he loved his kids, but he was unknowingly neglectful. Still doesn’t make him a good person, tho

There were a lot of key points you've said, that I've agree with.
As someone who writes books, I've spend a lot of hours working on my AU. From explaining how characters know each. How certain characters posses animatronics, and why other don't. To spending hours writing different backstorys, to help EXPLAIN how a character acts and behaves towards others and how those actions have heavy consequences.

The points about Elizabeth are so real. It's gotten a bit better now as a lot of the fandom has matured, but people used to NOT be able to handle her character with nuance. It was always either she was the evil mastermind or some innocent angel, when she is neither of those things. Victim and villain are not mutually exclusive titles. I saw very similar treatment of Six in the Little Nightmares fandom.

Like, I loathe the way kids dismissed the Mennard criticism by just ignoring that last part & just using "Noah" & the fact that Elizabeth got kicked out & that Ms. Afton -highly likely if not just- does not possess Ballora! I admit that I used to be an ally of this ship, but it drives me crazy in hindsight.
This is very true- especially the not taking a serious topic seriously part. In some AUs, William will abuse Micheal HUGELY. And later William will just half heartedly apologize and all Micheal does is smile and accept it. Not much thought is put into it- but when people ACTUALLY take it seriously and make sure to treat it lightly and take notice of what abuse actually is, it definitely can be taken more seriously by viewers.
I am fine with fnaf OCs but I generally hate the AUs that have those from a whole different fandom and make them Aftons, it doesn't make sense at all to add them as they have different story lines and stuff
Examples: Izuku Afton, Kasuki Afton, Marrienette Afton (not sure if I spelled the last first name right), it doesn't work with fnaf to add them in there because they're an entirely different fandom altogether

Just a basic "oh *insert character* was in hiding or just keeping it a secret" to validate it. What about the character's family from their actual fandom? Why are they living with them as their child if they're "actually" an Afton? As you stated, it doesn't make sense to begin with. I could maybe (and I'm stretching the maybe) see some hypothetical connection or neat idea for it as an AU if they gave a proper backstory or explanation. But, they don't. It reminds me of the "characters from *insert fandom* react to *insert chraacter*'s life as *another character from another fandom*" reaction type videos. Thankfully, this sort of thing has died off for the most part.

I just wanted to talk about this a little bit to put everyone's mind at ease. I've gotten a lot of e-mails complaining that the book doesn't match up with one or more of the games. Even some of the reviews on Amazon chatise the book for not matching the games, something that i should have explained very early on is that the book is NOT intended to solve anything. It's not intented to be a guide for the games, or to fill in gaps. The games are what they are, and as I stated before, that story is finished.
Something that I said in one of the forum threads about this, is that sometimes the lore of something can become so crowded that you can't tell an original story anymore. The games and the books should be considered to be separate continuities, even if they do share many familiar elements.
So yes, the book is canon, just as the games are. Thst doesn't mean that they are intended to fit togheter like two puzzle pieces. I would actually ask anyone wanting to read the book, even if you are a devout fan of the games, to read the book for the sake of enjoying the book, and don't try to "solve" anything. The book is a re-imagining of the Five Night's at Freddy's story, and if you go into it with that mindset, I think you will really enjoy it! :)

In my AU, I’ve never shipped the kids cuz like, no- But I do make them have tiny crushes sometimes! (But they all went away after deaths) It’s only like 2 ppl anyways (both one-sided, and both now dead.) I hope that isn’t that weird, they’re like 9-10 so it isn’t super romantic or smt like that!! (If it is super weird though, I can get rid of them! They don’t serve any major parts anyways, just tiny details.)

I strongly agree with the au thing because in mine William took cc from the hospital in some way and started experimenting with cc to try and find ways to immortality and bring his son back. When the missing children incident happened, he said that cc had also went missing around the same time. The incident is like a string of disappearances instead of straight up five or six children going missing at the same time.

2:53 I feel like an age gap is okay, as long as the character is above the age of eighteen and we’re not shipping 70 year olds with people who just became an adult. Age gaps kind of vary from person to person(and I know you said this was your opinion) but I just wanted to tell you mine. I personally feel like an age gap like 15 years is morally acceptable and that’s because it depends on the person. I just don’t feel that it is necessary to point out age gaps because I don’t want anyone to feel bad if they have a relationship with an age gap. I’ve met(or more accurately seen in person) a couple that had a ten(give or take) year age gap, and they were really sweet to each other. Sorry for the rant, I just felt like saying this. Also, I LOVE YOUR DESIGN FOR YOUR OC. You leaned into the semi-realistic and I love it!

The AU thing has always been weird to me but I'm starting to have a more open mind about things, especially AUs and ships I don't agree with. In my opinion, the only time AUs are truly 'bad' is when the creator is using it as an excuse to age up characters for a ship or ship characters with a child/adult, etc. weird stuff like that. Especially on the aged up stuff. It's always been so gross to me how their excuse as to why they can ship a child with an adult is because they aged the child up, and that it's their 'AU'

I remember making the tormenters in Gacha like 3 years ago. Remind you, I made their designs based off of my memory and also kinda my own imagination. Safe to say, I got so many hate comments for not making the Bonnie mask guy 'dark' enough, but I didn't do it on purpose and when I tried to explain nobody listened. But remember, there will always be one sane person in your comments section who will defend and understand you because I didn't do it maliciously. I just wanted to share my opinion, because I've been on the receiving end of hate from many fandoms for not being accurate enough, for people disliking my AU's or ships, etc. Every fandom has it, and the haters will always manage to outshine the people who support you because their words hurt more than how wonderful the support feels. To that I say; screw them. If anybody here is thinking of making any sort of content, please do, and if somebody hates it, well that's on them, because they're wasting THEIR time, so don't allow them to waste yours. So, the 'stuffing the children in the animatronic suits' thing really annoys me because in almost all the au's I've seen (especially after the movie came out) make it so that William stuffed the kids in the suits and as you said, it's an au so in general I have no problem/really like it when they deviate from canon/insert their own ideas, BUT in almost all cases (probably because it's so popular) they act as if it is canon and it just annoys me when a thing that isn't canon appears in SO MANY different aus because sometimes I just don't know if they just like that for their au or if they think it's canon. I mean the fnaf fandom already has so few actually canon things and then to act as if the mini-game of the puppet 'giving' the dead kid their suits doesn't exist just kind of make me mad whenever I see it because we literally SEE the Puppet place the animatronics heads on the dead kids, so If I'm not stupid and those are 4 other dead kids, the Puppet was the one to stuff the kids in the animatronics.
Again I don't mind/like changes to canon, but when 1 specific change happens SO often, that you see less canon (especially if the canon actually exists and is this 'obvious') than this au, idk it just makes me rage a bit

Fr, Cassidy, Elizabeth, C.C and sometimes the missing children gets so often demonised and even bases their entire personality to being angry all the time.
I've been in this part of the fandom for a while too, from the content creation angle and the viewer angle and something that really bugs me is C.C.'s characterisation. It always seems so monotonous and same-y in most of the videos I've seen. People don't try anything new with the guy and just keep dragging the 'child turned angry psycho' thing with him too (just this time without any depth),,,
I've seen a few good ones that give C.C. a more nuanced character but a lot of them just seemed to be used only to push Michael's main character status forward,,,

I was 9 when I discovered fnaf! Everytime I make a fnaf au I scrap it because my autistic brain goes "Oooo New AU idea" and I just scrap it all- How do you stick with an au for so long?

My only au that’s stayed the same is my security breach AU where the Glamrock’s (EXCEPT BONNIE) were all programmed to be siblings, Gregory is a human child from a not-so-good-home that he was kicked out of, DJMM can only communicate through remixed clips of lyrics in the songs he plays, and instead of just one Eclipse (the one we saw in ruin) in the daycare attendant(who also are siblings), it’s 3;

Lunar (A softer variant of Moon with the task of healthcare for the children)
And Solar (Basically that old Eclipse the entire fandom flocked to when we saw the glitched Sun face in the Balloon world minigame) 💀💀

(so bonnie has purplish hair and lavender skin). for human designs, he usually just does canon or whatever fits his uh... 'AU' or whatever. He wrote the whole au thing down in a book. It's like 100 pages...

I agree with most of this, but we have to remember that we can’t change them to an extent, even if it is an AU, because they’re Scott Cawthon’s characters not ours. Scott endorses fan games, which are basically fan fictions, so I don’t really care about OCs (Mostly). I also get annoyed when people think it’s okay to make a white character black but then it’s not okay to make a black character white? I think both should be bad. Racism isn’t specific to black people, even if it’s more severe for them. I’m not white myself, but I still think it’s a bit strange that more people don’t talk about it. You could argue that making a white character black wouldn’t change anything because there are no cultural or racial effects made by it, but then making black characters white is deemed wrong no matter the context. I just think both shouldn’t be allowed. And I agree with the rest of your video, especially the demonization of the children. I hate people who even make alive Elizabeth a friendless psycho even though she hadn’t even died yet.
@@Melroseyyy to me, A lot of these characters in game canon, do not have substance/personalities to them so it’s up to the fans to add to them! Maybe this is just me having Undertale as one of my core fandom’s as a child, but I personally think you’re free to do whatever you want with an AU, as long as it sticks to some of the bare bone basics of canon!

I honestly hate the whole Elizabeth liking icecream post death thing to be honest. Like, I feel like a thing people don’t talk about enough with ghosts of people who died in accidents is that if they ever saw something that reminded them of what happened, they would probably freak out!
This is likely worse for children. You can’t tell me that the ghost of a child who had their life taken from them in an accident would see something associated with what happened and not start freaking out because of the memories.
I don’t think Elizabeth would like icecream after she died due to the memories that it would cause her to have. But I don’t know, everybody sees ghosts differently I guess.

I like that you bring up the problem with people saying William has “trauma” and then using it as an excuse for literal CM. In my AU, he was actually investigated by the police, and they found mountains worth of evidence against him. Authorities wont just say “Oh? You had a bad childhood? Okay! I guess we just won’t arrest you~!❤️”

And while yeah, the books are not entirely canon, they still have some stuff that give you the idea of what could be canon in the games (for example, Henry's family tree). As long as the skin tone is not canon, you are more than free to use your imagination!

@@EnbyBee the *only* time where I get even remotely bothered over skin color is when the Bonnie & Chica bullies' skin are brightened up / *legit white*; they may not have much character, per say, but they are some of the only confirmed POCs in the main series of games so far - other than some other FNaF 4 kids & Cassie from Ruins. That & the characters actually get used as characters in many AUs - & are seemingly the only ones to get that treatment, so it legit feels a bit worse. Thankfully, I don't even see that happen too much anymore with Mike & Freddy Bully even having their tans on top of the whole diversifying & raceswapping thing with some characters. (:

Alright, firstly I want to say something about the skin tones. I think it really varies between characters like for example, if i were to make one of the fazbear frights characters that as no canon skin color like Samantha from coming home i think that would be perfectly fine because again she doesn't have a canon skin tone or really a design. I think it would be fine for someone to change the hair or eyes or clothing of the character as long as the skintone is kept the same. But for characters like Cassie, she has a cannon design so it would kind of be weird in the long run for people to whitewash her same with reverse situation. Characters like Charlie I think are fine to change the skin tone because in the minigame she is grey and the books aren't canon.
For Henry being not completely innocent, I have to add that I think it could vary depending on au. I think in canon you are completely correct but i've seen aus were 1985 murders happen before Charlie's death and Henry gets arrested because William blames him. Therefore he is in prison, unable to protect his child. Or she couldve not been outside too long in the first place. Potential she was out there for 5 minutes and William saw his chance. I don't know but i think you should let it vary between aus.

There are aus in which Glitchtrap exists as a another entity different from William- i personally can only sympathize with William in 3 type of aus, 1 the ones that make him have a insane glitch side because of past experiments, and so he can't control his own actions and should actually be helped, because those experiments both make him feel pain and make him do things he hates doing like murder, 2 is when Glitchtrap is an entity different from William, that controls William, in that aus all the fault is of Glitchtrap, and William suffering because of the yellow rabbit actions is unfair and cruel, then 3 is half and half, while i think he should get incarcerated in a mental facility for it- those aus in which he went insane after his children died, those aus are mostly him being a good dad, trying to be a good husband, but failing, and so losing his mind trying to use remnant and bring his family back, that is unhealthy, and if he received the good amount of help I'm sure he could move on, and realize just the extent of what he did
Except in those aus, in the ones in which William is an abuser, a sadist, or a psychopath because of his own choice, i absolutely support the missing children decision on ending him, those aus William CAN'T BE JUSTIFIED IN ANY WAY! Abuse, trauma, or anything like that cannot justify it

In my au that i haven’t posted about yet Susie got killed just before Charlie death (in my au most of the missing didn’t know eachother before they died so most of them got killed in different months and days and some died in different years). the reason why Elizabeth like ice cream so much well she likes all sweets and she also likes fast food an lot is because they were only allowed to have it once in an while (in my au I got this form the book she has narcissism in my au but she not like evil evil like in some aus. Henry was definitely an better father then Willam but he were the best father or person in my au the reason why Charlie was left outside for so long was because of Henry was in an meeting with someone while William was supposed to be in the meeting he pretended to be sick and went out drinking and when he saw Charlie alone he took it as an opportunity to off another kid since he an psychopath who lacks empathy also he planned Elizabeth death in my au. Henry found out it was Willam who killed his daughter but didn’t have enough evidence to tell the police so then when Micheal asked Henry if the prank he was gonna pull on c.c was safe Henry said yes since he wanted revenge on Willam then boom bite of 83 happens. Also Willam was a neglectful father who would leave his children for hour on end alone and would force Micheal to watch c.c and Elizabeth but Micheal ain’t innocent either he bullied c.c for fun but Micheal did changed. C.c nightmare are just his imagination and in my au past c.c had depression and c.c saw Susie get stuffed into chica but since William was in the spring Bonnie suit c.c thought spring Bonnie killed the little girl Willam ofc didn’t saw c.c or he would have off c.c to cover up his crimes and after the bite c.c memory became hazy

Honestly i agree with a lot of this video, people should be able to go wild with there AU's but ya i do hate when people say there AU is canon while also hating people that try to focus AUs to follow canon. People should be able to make their own story while using the lore, their own idea of how things might have gone down or if thing were different.
For 3, I also agree with the shipping bit, dont make ships with major age gaps and no Incest however i also hold the caveat that if you have the kids age after death so that they are of age then it fine to ship them together; this is mainly due to how if they have aged with each other and only having each other to talk with "if you have them possessing the ability to talk to each other in your AU", that relationships could form or you can have them trauma bonding with each other.
for 4, Ya i do hate the trauma/mental illness as an excuse for Williams actions "though the same can be said for cassidy", but its great when you use it reasoning if you do it right. like you can say "hay dude has trauma or a mental illness so he did some fucked up things, not saying its right just a reason" is something i love because it gives his character more depth, more lore but again you have to do it right. its a great way to expanded an AU while giving reasoning or backstory for why a character not just William might act or you can just use it explain why he did things in lore.
*side note, the only real physical abuse i have seen or read about that we know for sure happened that is not assumptions was with Elizabeth in the fnaf books were after she had pushed him 3 times while he was working he hit her once, which seems more like a guy with anger issues then full on abuse. yes i know just a single hit can count as abuse and I'm not saying it was right but it was in the 80s and parents were much more strict and physical back then "parents spanking kids with a belt, or slapping their kids". As for emotional abuse, again its kinda mostly assumptions as we have no real idea what was going on with Williams life at the time where he was neglectful/not around with CC; Plus we have no idea if William did or didnt do anything about Michael bulling CC, he might have punished Michael but Michael kept going or he might not have.
for 5, I disagree that people shouldn't demonize Cassidy. Cassidy is not innocent and she lost her justification for what she had been doing to William by the end, full stop. Let me go over why, first off we have no idea how the missing kids died, unless there is some new and obscure lore i have missed we just don't know, could be killed with a knife or a fire-axe and it was long and brutal or it was a quick and painless death that they were unaware about. Again we just don't know, but for the sake of arguing lets say William stab them all to death with a knife but he did so quickly so that they didnt scream. Ok so a somewhat painful death and there bodies are stuffed into the animatronics, so far so good. However we then have no idea what there life as ghost were like, you can make guess but you have no idea. Honestly i firmly believe that besides Cassidy and Charlotte the others are not even aware of what is going on, this is due to what the puppet says in UCN "The others are like animals, but I am very aware." but even if they were aware they have each other so more then likely not a majorly isolating experience just a majorly boring one.
Anyway back on topic i do agree they have every right to want William dead and guess what, they got what they wanted, William was killed by spring bonnie by springlocks, which i might add would be incredibly painful, then the guy gets locked up and left to rot for 30 years in the backroom, which we know was would be way more time spent dead then the missing kids. so just to recap, dude dies a incredibly painful death "which was more then likely even more painful then the missing kids death", then is left alone for 30 years "which was longer then the missing kids"; sounds like vengeance was done, justification for doing stuff to William gone, time to pack up and move on to what comes after in the FNAF universe.

Is it me trapped, or is it you? Perhaps, it's us both." which could just be torture for the other souls as do you want to see your killer after so long? "o but they get to kill him over and over" cool but that shit gets old fast and unless Cassidy lets go they are ALL stuck with William. "but William deserves it and Cassidy is just giving William what he deserves" cool, not Cassidy's place to say what William does and does not deserve. that should go to all the missing kids and as we have seen in UCN, its just Cassidy running the show.
so ya in the end cassidy is a demonic little child that is happily torturing William while not caring about the other missing kids, the only important one is cassidy, cassidy, cassidy as such, cassidy is not innocent and has long lost any justification they had.

The part that i wonder about is, if we do say that the other missing kids could move on, why couldn't Cassidy. All we know is that cassidy was "the one you should not have killed". again a bit of a side thing that while i do understand why Scott didn't do this I'm kinda mad we just don't know the real reason why cassidy is so special as well as how the missing kids were killed, though it might just be some real obscure lore bit i don't know about.
As for letting them bleeding out i don't really see William doing as he more then likely killed them during the day as well as when the restaurant was open so letting them bleed out would just up the chances of him being found out. i mean lets say your boss goes missing during the day with one of the suits "since we know William used the springbonnie suit to lure them away" and he's been gone for a hot minute what do you do? you go looking for him, which might lead one of the other employees to finding the dead or dying kid and William with a bloody weapon. (Ya dying to a knife or axe would be painful even if it was fast)
@@dragonlord7666 I do agree on that, I wish we would know more about the missing children before and after their deaths, but unfortunately, there is no concrete canon for the games, barely scraps! I do understand that the lore was made up as it went on!
This is probably the most agreeable of these kinds of videos, you give valid points, you are experienced in the community and you just..have agreeable points I don’t know exactly how to explain it (also I like your characters)
about 3:42 does it still count as william doing the sins if glitchtrap was controlling him at the time? oh btw in my au, it’s like an au but instead of the usual characters everyone is different & unique, in Five Nights at Sleddog’s, instead of willaim it’s paxton & banechtrap (is glitchtrap) made him kill the children. (no domestic abuse towards his kids)

Imo, Elizabeth isn't obsessed with ice cream. Many children love ice cream. And then Circus Baby, she really liked Circus Baby and questioned William why she couldn't go near, because she didn't know it was going to kill her. I think she felt it was a good deal, she gets ice cream and a good look at Circus Baby.
