    What are modal verbs?
    Modals (also called modal verbs, modal auxiliary verbs, modal auxiliaries) are special verbs which behave irregularly in English. They are different from normal verbs like "work, play, visit..." They give additional information about the function of the main verb that follows it. They have a great variety of communicative functions.
    Here are some characteristics of modal verbs:
    They never change their form. You can't add "s", "ed", "ing"...
    They are always followed by an infinitive without "to" (e.i. the bare infinitive.)
    They are used to indicate modality allow speakers to express certainty, possibility, willingness, obligation, necessity, ability
    Here is a list of modal verbs:
    can, could, may, might, will, would, shall, should, must
    The verbs or expressions dare, ought to, had better, and need not behave like modal auxiliaries to a large extent and my be added to the above list
    Use of modal verbs:
    Modal verbs are used to express functions such as:
    Permission
    Ability
    Obligation
    Prohibition
    Lack of necessity
    Advice
    possibility
    probability

    love contractions this is the real spoken American English, ok it's good speak normal but to they it sounds like robotic and I really love speak like real American as soon as possible

      Yeah, you are right! Contractions make our life easier, they help us to sound more natural, and save our spoken time) I know sometimes its difficult, just don't give up and everything will be great!! You are not alone!

    Where is used had have/ had have been ?

      "Had" is the past form of "to have". and "had been" is a Past Perfect tense. Thank you so much for another interesting topic for our lessons!

      I think you are stronger than Modal verbs!!! Treat them as ordinary verbs, the difference is that they are not changing their form...they don't have endings like -s, -ed, -ing.

    I just decided Listening English with subtitles in Spanish or inverse I really hate grammar sorry I'm not make it up I just hope it works my better 😂😂😂

      My videos can have Spanish subtitles? Grammar is difficult, just don't be in a hurry, listen attentively......several times......try to find out what points are the most difficult for you, and pay more attention to them.

      Right, they are the same as Modal verbs. Don't let the CONDITIONALS to confuse you) You will do it, it needs repetition........
