Most of the time when Riot releases a Legendary skin they release it with an intro for it, unless there is a bigger event in-game. This patch featured Lissandra and the war from the three tribes of the Freljord, yet it released the Legendary skin of my favorite champion, Blackfrost Anivia

She chose to delay the apocalypse no matter the cause. She knows it can't be repelled, not without divine intervention, so with all her strength and wisdom, committed many atrocities, to give other more time to live. Herself doomed to be blind, to be the keeper. For those are her punishment for bringing chaos upon this realm.
Imagine you are just a random villager passing through the bridge, looking down and you see this humanoid figure with ice cold expression just ghastly traversing the abyss
Lissandra is one of my favorites (can't you tell, with that icon? haha), but I only started playing from the Jinx patch. Kind of bummed I missed the main event :/ Although "Get Jinxed!"...wow, what an introduction to the game :D
I started playing exactly when zac came out, end of march 2013, and Liss came end of april 2013. I have such nostalgia towards the zac and liss login screen for that reason.

It's because in ARAM the bridge you fight on is from the Freljord lore. Howling Abyss bridge is located in Freljord and it serves as a gateway bridge for the Frostguard Citadel.
The Freljord Patch, by far the most memorable one :)
