No question about that. HL is 3+ tiers lower and requires a significant amount of character knowledge to fight that well. He was driving a 16 gear big rig vs an automatic transmission Mazda Miata.

I honestly thought a shinobi would completely stomp a highlander when both players are very skilled. This highlander played very well against someone with a kit like shinobi’s.
That's because the HL player is a better player than the kid playing Shinobi. If they were truly evenly matched the HL shouldn't get that many rounds ever.
Highlander and Shinobi has always been some of the most intense matchups. I want to play more highlander. I think people overpraise highlander players at times. Don't get me wrong, he's difficult to play from a controls perspective, but his damage output is quite good.
This Highlander is an absolute beast! Unfortunately, this is another matchup where Highlander has to work 10x harder to get damage off because of how safe shinobi is. To be fair at least in this match there's a trade-off because highlander gets great damage but I think that may just be more down to Shinobi making the wrong reads, or just not playing optionally
This shows that highlander is really good, highlander just needs to lose his HA on light. His animations should get fixed, his top celtic curse should be undodgeable, maybe some stamina tweaks and some HA on his kick to grab and grab. Than i think HL would be a really good hero, and he wouldn't lose his skillgap unlike Raider, Orochi, etc.

I get what you're trying to say with hyper armor grab because it would track if it wasn't for these dodge attacks being a lot faster than HL himself. Instead, what about faster startup on neutral grab. If you noticed neutral grabs take some milliseconds before it actually performs. So that you would grab dodge attacks before the dodge attacks hit you like it does now.
@@obamasoe9392 imo his finishers are really fast and with this wanky animations and HA and his ghost tracking i think it would be a good change to remove his finisher HA and put it on his Offstance, i think HL needs HA on his grab and on the heavies after his kick and grab connects, it happened to me a lot, that i couldn't kill someone cause i got hit out of my bash heavies and you know how slow his bash heavies are, and that even TEAMMATES can hit you out of it.

So this stage of the tournament is in sanctuary. Each number 1 hero will face each other. Once everyone has finished all their fights, we will have a rank system based off the win/loss record for the number 1s. Then we will have a tournament bracket based of ranking. The tournament will be held on the ranked duel map

Well HL's kit hasn't been upgraded to match the other hero's yet. So kinda unfair imo. But yet it was interesting to watch. Good game play from both guys. I just cried alittle when the shinobi won. I hate that hero with a passion lol
Hey, I’m the Highlander in the vid but basically it’s preference man, I enjoyed his playstyle I was terrible with him and kept working on getting better with him over and over eventually I got to the level im at today!
Great game, as a highlander main myself that was intense and shinobi is a tuff match up, needed to use more defensive stance in my opinion as in switching out of offensive more and celtic curse has I frames which could of been utilised a bit more but amazing highlander non the less.

He was good, but his reads were way off, he let himself get into and guessed wrong way to many 50/50

I think HL could've avoided some of the opening shinobi kicks by forward dodge heavy then soft feint into a side dodge heavy.
