The writing in this show is spectacular. It can handle serious scenes with believable dialogue between characters according to their situations and still drop a few almost-unrealistic terms and curses but still make it work like a charm.
I forget which issue it was, but it's one of my favorite comic sequences with DC's Joker. Red Hood (an ex-Robin Joker beat with a crowbar, psychologically tormented, and left to die) had him tied to a chair. He leaned into the Joker's ear and told him that he knows his biggest secret: he's "crazy", but not nearly as "crazy" as he wants people to think he is. It's just a shield, an act to avoid any personal feelings of responsibility for anything. It's one of the few times I've seen the Joker genuinely frown.

Also, the curses she uses are from our current era in our lingo. The F word didn't even exist in her time, and "dafuq" certainly didn't exist until the Internet made it a thing. Next up is Alucard. They turned him bi in this series, which was disgusting. They also turned him into a nut. As if he would make dolls of Trevor and Sypha because he was lonely. Nonsense. And even if he were bi, that doesn't mean he would accept such an approach from two siblings who are supposed to be his students. It came completely out of nowhere and he would have suspected foul play of some kind. If not from the siblings directly, then perhaps some outside controlling force influencing them. He would have at the very least questioned their actions and behavior. This was clearly just a case of the writers throwing a bone to the alphabet soup community. Then there's Hector the cuck. He's just a pathetic whipping boy in this, when in fact the REAL Hector was a boss chad. He would not have fallen for Lenore's trick, and even if he had, it would have been on purpose so he could flip the script on her later. Those rings that bind him to the others could easily be reversed by Hector using his skills as a devil forge master. This is the same guy who turned Dracula's Curse into something harmless in his video game. In that same game he was not quick to warm up to Julia, despite her looking so much like his dead wife. The guy was careful and cautious the whole time, and that was during the effects of Dracula's Curse. He was able to resist his own blood lust for killing Issac, albeit with help from others, so you can't tell me he couldn't resist Lenore's transparent deception. And of course that brings me to Issac. Melanin increase aside, he's just a little too calm and collected in this. Though in the game he was under the influence of Dracula's Curse, so maybe there is no good basis for comparison. Even so, he seems to still hold out some hope for humanity, whereas the REAL Issac never wanted to spare other humans. Even Carmilla is not right. In the game, she was loyal to Dracula. No question. Now, if they want to make her self-serving and ambitious, that's one thing. I think I could let that slide. Sure, make her out for herself and her own empowerment. But that doesn't mean she should be totally opposed to humans. In Circle of the Moon, she states that her desire is for the world to properly reflect the darkness that is in the hearts of all humanity. And, limited dialogue in this GBA game notwithstanding, it is strongly implied that Carmilla tried to seduce Nathan Graves into embracing the darkness in his heart, and that if he did, she would show him a new world of pleasure. Alpha male that he is, Nathan turned her down flat. Hugh Baldwin on the other hand gave in to his dark impulses, which is why Carmilla accepted him among their ranks. She would have done the same with Hector. In fact, Lenore seems more like Carmilla ought to have been. Even her appearance is similar to Carmilla's CotM art style. Hector was ready to help Lenore, the rings were unnecessary. It was only done because the writers seem to have a hate-on for strong male characters who are white, which is why they made Issac black. Trevor is also out of character. They just give him modern day slang and attitude to make him seem edgy. Most of his humor is toilet humor. The REAL Trevor was one who deeply wanted to restore the honor and prestige of his family name, and would act accordingly to the respect he believed his family deserved. St. Germaine is nothing like the character we meet in the game, but I actually think I can tolerate this change, since this is likely Germaine before he gains the power to move through time. So this could be his "true" personality before gaining most of his powers and using them to experience countless time periods. But lets not forget that Trevor and Sypha utterly failed to help the village in season 3. They knew about the markings and did nothing to remove them or warn the people. They also failed to expose the Judge until it was too late to do anything about him. They also puss'd out investigating the church building when they could have just stormed the building by force. They knew the brothers there were up to no good flashing those devil armbands and all. And they knew a demon went in there. It was their duty to investigate by any means necessary. The only winner in this series is Grant, since he's absent from it.

They knew the brothers there were up to no good flashing those devil armbands and all. And they knew a demon went in there. It was their duty to investigate by any means necessary.

@@BelieveIt1051 You're talkiong about the series being different AT ALL, gotcha. I respect your opinion but honestly, every character here is written miles ahead better than their VG counterparts. Real depth, actual emotion, characterization, pathos, determination, great voice acting and it oozes with the campiness of the source material.
@@JobyPlays No, not different. BAD. Why would Trevor and Sypha leave the satanic markings on the houses? Why would they not investigate the church after hearing about the demon? That doesn't make sense within the context of their characters. There's this word, it's called "contrived". The more a story is of this word the worse it tends to be. Netflix Castlevania is no different from any of the comic book heroes that are being picked up by SJWs and twisted to push their political agendas. They can't make something new that anyone will watch, so they steal old franchises and just use those to push their ideas and blend of humor.
Define "better". Sure the VG versions don't have much writing to them due to limited production resources and time on video games, but what little there is of their characters in the games and manuals is still better than what we're getting here.
What? The voice acting is terrible. Most of them mumble half the time, or whisper to the point where you have to turn the volume way up.
@@BelieveIt1051 As far as acting, they talk like humans talk, they mumble and swear and hold no reverence for outdated beliefs, which that part could be outlandish but it works.
Anyway, again, the characters have motivations, emotional depth and real goals to attain beyond "I must beat this level!" that the VGs have. You're right it isn't "Bad" but it's also completely uncompelling. And I'm honestly not sure what part you're referring to with the symbols part, season 3?
