@@1ChilledDude This was a good comment thread. made my day!
@@jculver1674 That Was A Hell Of A Thing!
Sam Rockwell screaming caused a real scare jump reaction on Sigourney Weaver and that was so funny. This never gets old from her since ALIEN and ALIENS lol.
Lol
@@pmason6076 I love ALIEN 3, but she never had a real jump scare in ALIEN 3, I was talking about her reactions on those two movies in particular cause in ALIEN she was scared twice, with Dallas dropping a trash can, and the Facehugger Falling on her. Then on ALIENS at the discovery of the Facehuggers when the enter the colony Gorman bumps something that falls and her scared reaction was also real.
Sam Rockwell is a comic genius. My favorite role of his is still "Mr. Right" though.
"That was a hell of a thing..." Priceless
What's wrong with them?
@@nicktechnubyte1184 I don't know
Come on!
Its was lines like this one that made me go for liking this movie to loving it.
That was the best part of the whole movie. Gets me every time!
"What's wrong with them?"
"I don't know".
LOL!
Tony Shalhoub as Tech Sgt. Chen played that teleport scene to perfection! He is a SERIOUSLY underrated actor.
Easily one of the funniest and best movies out there, and by far the best Star Trek parody ever made!
His character was high throughout the whole movie. If you remember in many scenes he can be seen either eating, trying to eat, or totally chill with a really relaxed, devil may care, attitude.
The thermins are a brilliant comedian creation. To think the actor who played the lead thermin created the sound and walk. The scene where the thermins arrive on earth for the first time is hysterically funny.
Great actor but idk about underrated, he's pretty well known.
Sigourney is SMOKING hot here!
I never really looked at her twice until this movie.
@@j.dragon651 Same.
Yeah, I was not enamoured by her in the Aliens etc, but Man she hot in makeup, blonde and cleavage.
Excuse me 😳 did you notice what the alien approached her with?!?
That's a speculum!
Sam Rockwell’s scream makes me laugh every time!
Did you notice Sigourney Weaver jumping? She seems to have not expected it. This is typical of her, in ALIEN and ALIENS they did this to her, scaring her for real, like 4 times, 2 times per film, and all concerning the Facehuggers scenes. She seems to be jumpy and some directors know this cause they get the best reactions from her lol.
@@EternalRoman It's true, his scream wasn't in the script and Sigourney's reaction in that scene is genuine.
Look at Rickman. Didn't even flinch. Badass.
@@one7decimal2eight I read that he knew it was coming. Everyone knew but Sigourney lol
That’s it Sam, let it out. Feeling better now. 🤣
Sigourney was blazing hot in this.
I had not talked to my son in 18 years. I brought up this movie in conversation. He said Sigourney was hot.
YUMMY
Way Sexier as a blond.
I saw in an interview that she enjoyed being a bling for this movie. It does look good on her. ☺️
Is she ever not?
I have a feeling when Guy screamed it was not scripted. If you watch Sigourney Weaver she was really surprised.
I have not watched any materials from the set of this film, documentaries, if there are any. But it seems to me that not everyone was deliberately warned by the director about this idea-prank in order to achieve exactly this result!)))))))))))))))))))))
The scream was so hysterical it literally startled the hell outta Sigourney

Rickman's character never loses the prosthetic makeup all through the movie...
Mostly.
It is interesting that it progressively comes apart. Just like any lie. They never had a choice but to fight.
Feb. 27, 2022---Every once in awhile, Hollyweird gets their shit together and makes a memorable and keepable movie.
I love Guy ...dude cracks me up
Best Star Trek Spoof ever!❤
Tony Shalhoub's entrance cracks me up every time.
Great cast, writing, a really underrated movie
underrated? Well, I've yet to run into anyone that doesn't like it Galaxy Quest
I've always theorized that the fictional writer of the show was an actual Thermian who was actually seeking help and got stranded on earth . That's why all the tech and life forms like dr. lazarus could have been real.
Tony Shalhoub apparently improvised most of his character
That was a helluva thing.....
And did a damn fine job.
Best Star Trek movie EVER!!
Can we talk about how Daniels (ST: Enterprise - Time Agent) got on board?
This show needed a part 2 or a series
Was Sigourney's reaction to Sam's scream scripted? She looked genuinely surprised
Nope, that was indeed genuine. His scream was unscripted.
@@Commando110 "We are going to need a bigger boat" was improve and so was the scene in Aliens two when the drop ship crashed when Paul Riser said lets light a fire and sing some songs.
OK.. how come I never noticed until now that Ted Buckland from Scrubs was one of the aliens!
As well as Dwight Shrute from The Office...
There's been talk of a sequel, but for me this movie needs to stand on its own just as it was created, no sequel necessary or desirable. There's been talk of a sequel to 1956's Forbidden Planet, but, thankfully, nothing has yet come of that.
What makes Galaxy Quest so brilliant is that it is able to, simultaneously, parody and revere the Star Trek franchise. Doing either well is hard enough, but doing both superbly is nearly impossible.
Rickman died so they decided they wouldn't do a sequel without him
Well, Forbidden Planet itself is more or less a remake of an older story, called The Tempest by a guy named Shakespeare
@@ariaflame-au Yeah, good old Will Shakespeare.
The script took The Tempest as a template, but the addition of some not unreasonable science and scientific speculation along with a first use of a purely electronic music and sound effects. We're nearing 70 years since its release -- a film released in 1956 would have been shooting scenes about a year before that so, yeah, almost 70 years.
1:50 Matt Winston!!! I didn't realize Agent Daniels was in this movie ^^
I laughed and laughed out loud all the way through this movie in the theater!
I like how guy was so afraid to die in this movie but was the only one who survived at the end.
The nostalgia! Crying...
The way it ends is really moving.
@@somedumbozzie1539 How does it end again, remind me? 🥲
@@funkymunky They save the ship and they find out that they really are the hero's they have been playing. You can buy it on YT I did a few weeks ago.
@@somedumbozzie1539 Right, I remember! It was very touching. I'll have to re-watch it but thanks for the heads-up! Hope all is well🙂
I just got it! I was wondering why Fred showed up so much later than everyone else. I thought it was awful considerate of the Thermian's to wait for Fred to get some soup. But no! It's smarter than that!
Liliari had 4 pods ready for transport because Jason was expecting them to have good hearts and return. But Guy ended up tagging along, so Liliari calls in an extra pod. As Fred wanders off to look at the soup, Guy accidentally takes the pod that was prepared for Fred and leaves with the rest of the crew. Then, after a minute or so, Fred's pod is ready and he joins them.
If only Guy didn't take Fred's. He'd probably have a much better time with a friendly welcome rather than probed by squids in the first 5 minutes of your adventure
“Yes we wish to go to the ship you see we work together or not at all”
Black Willy Wonka: That’s exactly what I wanted to hear

3:08 When I meet my idol in person
Should've given him some Moon Pie. That would've calmed him down a bit.
The eye squint Schalub does is f'ing hilarious

Brilliant film. Shame there was no sequel
I see now, Avantgardey are Thermians.
Great movie!
Loved this film .
1:27 OMFG on that instrument on Sigorney’s face
Sigourney Weaver looks a lot lot lot better as a blonde
Jeebs and Ripley in the same movie? 😮
Hey - didn't "Guy" play "Billy the Kid" from "The Green Mile"?
3:27 when someone asks if I toss salad

I love how this movie ranks in the top 5 best star trek movies among trekie fans.
Of course it does. It's about us. We love it!!
@@ValeriePallaoro Absolutely we are going to be the ones that "can handle the truth".
Top 5?
Bruh, it's #1!
Then again, I am more of a Doctor Who fan...
There are two categories of space travel movies:
2001 and Galaxy Quest
Star Trek is not in the 2001 category.
in some (or many) multiverse realities, Galaxy Quest is THE Star Trek canon
1:59 I love how Sam genuinely scared the crap out of Sigourney LMFAO 🤣
LOL
Lmao that blood-curdling scream. I can't😂
I think it was ad libbed. But funny
I also love how Alan Rickman didn't even flinch. Maybe he saw Sam winding up to it out of the corner of his eye.
Whether ad-libbed or scripted, if that was the first take, I'm sure she DID get startled, Sam Rockwell sure can scream.
Signorney was 50 in this!! HO LEE FUUUUUK.
OMG
Apparently Signorney Weaver suggested the idea the go blonde for the movie. She never looked hotter for that role.
Her "kick" she does when coming out on stage in the beginning reminds me heavily of the "I'MMMM 50!" Sally O'Malley SNL skit.
She was!?
But she looked so young back then.
Nice movie. They planned a sequel but Alan Rickman passed and Sigourney said it didn't feel right doing it without Alan.
She's not wrong. Just like, even if anyone actually wanted a sequel to the HHG movie, you couldn't do it without him as the voice of Marvin.
The movie which had Sigourney Weaver looking hotter than she's looked since Ghostbusters.
She looked good in Doc Martin 😂😂 a UK tv series which appeared in a few episodes
Not even since, just ever lol
Tony Shalhoub is by far the best character during the entire movie. He is just flowing by himself.
Like he was expecting this moment to happen his whole life.
Fun fact: he based his character on David Carradine from Kung Fu, who was rumored to be frequently high on weed because he was an non-Asian playing an Asian character, so that was the basis for his character's constant Zen.
Dunno, Sam Rockwell was a hoot too
He was supposed to be high the entire time but the studio removed any weed scenes from the movie. So you end up with a character who is portrayed as high but without the scenes explaining so.
I dont know, tough call, literally EVERY SNGLE CHARACTER in the movie is amazing. How many movies have that?
"That was a hell of a thing..." Baahaahaa! Chen is so cool!
So many people I know don't get this movie...too bad for them! I have to admit there are a few cheesy scenes like the rock monster, but it has tons of subtle jokes that you only catch with repeated watches. I think its time to watch again real soon!
Definitely, but I also like the rock monster scene. They had to have a scene like out of Star Trek where Kirk had to do battle with some creature on a planet.
Why is it always ducts?
It is tributing the original Trek, and it had it's cheesy moments too. Richard.
You had to love the captain's underreaction to that though - "Ah, darn."
A bit of Trivia, the one that apologizes for forgetting their appearence Generators also play Crewman Daniels on Star Trek Enterprise.......
I missed that one well spotted.
This will ALWAYS be one of my favorite movies.
Sig Weaver milffing it up to the absolute maxx in this movie!😍🤪
Let's get out of here before Guy gets killed. 😁
I love that line XD
What a great cast ensemble. Sam Rockwell's goofy smile.....
unconditionnal love for this movie and these actors.
Cant believe its been 23 years
Every scene that shows up here makes me want to watch this movie again. It holds up really well.
This movie is so much better than 98 percent of the cr*P that they make these days.
Amen brother.
Agreed. These days we might get two movies a year that are even worth seeing.
U really bleeped out crap what the fuck lol
My man just censored the word crap, dont ever let the internet change you lol
Another nothing good made now unlike 'back in the day' comment.
Galaxy Quest was also better than 98% of what was made when it was made. Probably 98% better than most movies ever made.
I do admit that since the eighties, movies more often stick to formulas that proven to work and there is less experimentation with big budget movies. Considering budgets kept going up this is hardly surprising. Hollywood was never ever making movies purely for the art.
Seriously loved this movie
Best Star Trek parody ever made!
@@caronstout354 I was at the grand opening of the Star Trek museum in LA and this film and props are part of it
I also loved this movie!😁👍
@@caronstout354 I wouldn’t call it a parody so much as an homage.
Today ST and SW movies are so bad that is impossible to make a good parody of them, even Galaxy Quest is a lot more than parody to me.
The late, great Alan Rickman. Professor Snape forever.
Hans Gruber is the correct spelling.😮
That Look On Alan Rickman's Face When They Gave Him His Favorite Food, A Bowl Full Of Bugs! I Know They Didn't Show It In This Clip But It's A Great Scene. Thank You.
Ngl, it was hilarious. "Just like mother used to make."
Sam Rockwell's scream is PRICELESS!
"Anybody else?"
No that scream would be MINE if I'd transported.
I just noticed that one of the implements was sort of like a speculum, props guy had a good sense of humor lol.
It was a speculum. They were inspecting Gwen with it. Part of me thought she secretly wanted it (but couldn't show it around her crew). Gwen lowkey masochistic in my hc. (What the fuck is wrong with me?)
I'm just here for the ridiculous "this movie is so underrated" comments.
Tony Shalhoub was great!
Best Star Trek Movie EVER made! Seriously...
Great movie. I love how Fred isn't fazed by anything that happens because he was late to be transported up.
He missed the octopus aliens coming with the probing instruments, but given that he was unfazed by the transport itself, he probably would've taken that in stride too.
Actually, come to think of it, he's the one that got with Lailani. Tentacles at all.
Afaik there is a cut scene of him toking up.
This movie was so much fun !
Sigourney's blonde hair really, really suits her, she's frikking gorgeous ❤❤❤
Now that im 23ish years older and in the medical field. I never noticed one of the aliens holding a vaginal speculum, and to make it better-its pointed at Sigourney lol
Sam Rockwell is da MAN! Such great actors in this movie
"Guy" was my favorite character in this classic.
3:08 I never made the connection until now how his name is Chen and the "asian eye" squint lol. Can't do that today
Fred be canceled if he do that today
This is one of my favorite movies, it caught the Star Trek spirit which I think we all recognize
Galaxy Quest was such a hilarious Star Trek spoof.
The most attractive Sigourney has ever looked.
agreed
**cough cough** Ghostbusters **cough**
Shes always looked gorgeous
Technically it wasn't a probing, those three Thermians were actually Medical Personnel using their equipment to see if the transportation had any ill-effects on them.
How were they able to do that? We don't see anything, do we?
@@your_local_questerian The clacking tool in front of Sigourney was likely used for testing her reaction to sound, the "pistol" used on both Guy and Alan Rickman was likely for temperature checks, the spinning tool was likely meant to test their breathing because it was in front of their mouths.
That's fair.
I feel like this movie and the actors in it took none of the movie seriously and it just made it so amazing. they took "lean into the meme" to the next level.
Love this movie in all it’s Insanity
I ♥️ Sigourney.
What a brilliant film! The cast is outstanding! Everyone at that time was quite young, Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman was full of energy, blessed memory to him. I rewatch it periodically, but how can you not rewatch it?!
te vaginal speculum was supposed to get all the laughter
One of the most PERFECTLY casted movies ever man. Movie is a GEM!
*She's Jakes teacher on 2 1/2 men* 💡
*Mrs Pastorneck* 💡
Tim Allen plays a jerk sooo well. It's almost like it comes natural.
2:00 yep I’d react exactly the same way
Sigourney is a hot woman, always made my knees like yelly when I saw Ghost Busters and then the Alien franchise. Even "hotter" as a blond with thos smoky eyes 👀 🌹💕❤️😍
Great film.
wow wow
One of my all time favorites! Funny from start to finish and a great concept. The casting was super.
This film is a genuine masterpiece
It is now an official Historical Record having been transmitted across the universe.
