The Evo Ralliart is only there for a control subject as it starts with a delay against the other cars. It's not there to compete against them. They do it all the time.

They aren't "way faster", they have an ej207 engine in them, which makes 280hp. In america, we get the ej257, which has 305hp, so one may argue that the STi's in this video are at a disadvantage to the USDM STi.

I wonder if that 370z has better brake cooling. In the US on Car and Driver when they were doing their Lightning Lap, the 370z brakes overheated cause the 370z didn't have sufficient air going to the brakes to cool them. The result of Car and Driver was complete brake failure at like 130mph and they crashed the car.
@pcbb01 nope... fastest time attack starts at the very back... That mitsu ralliart hardcore machine is the lightest on the grid and with that suspenion and tires goes like on the rails. With such cornering speed difference the others would be no match if allowed starting from close distance...

In the specs given by honda, vtec also reach the max power at 7000rpm, and every good pilot, take the car until 8500rpm. Because in 8000rpm, you still have more power, than in the next gear only at 5000!

The Spec C has a lightened body, more power/torque, completely different suspension (dampers and springs, anti roll bars, bushings), new wheels, and different LSD. Their mods just aren't as effective. The evo should have started with them at the back and just destroy everything. Unfair? Not really, that evo costs as much as the Spec C and has same level of mods.
@jezwah Seems like Nissan engineers leave the fans some space to "reengineer" and play with the toys :) They offer affordable yet playful lines, and premium, more expensive for extra bucks with GTR's.. Market wise, anyone can enjoy Nissan's

Would a 370z be as much fun if it cost just as much as a 35GTR and had all the fruit ? who wants some $15,000 brake pads ? Or would it be more fun to pay what a 370z costs now, and do what you want ? In the old Nissan days you could buy an RS260 Stagea which had all the joy of GTR, but in a wagon. Thats why i love my series 2 rsfour-s stagea . Its already halfway there :D

Fierag no. On the practice laps, they set a time and that is how far behind they are from the person in front. If it's not a lot then it's based on the grid but if they are a lot faster, they are set much further back so each car gets equal chance.
I wish they'd stop using stock-cars to represent Germany... xD our cars have longer transmission layouts due to high travel speeds and emission laws and they're also set to understeer for safety reasons. Well, you could bring a GT2 RS... that one has a proper factory setting. :P
the audi wins because it has the moust hp and tq and compared to the 205 R its lighter .. but the scooby almoust had his ass... 20 more hp and that 5cyl tt was history ... from my point of view the r205 and the evo are the winners !

Honda is an atmosferic engine and the dynograph shows You that the line of powerband is very plain and long. Subaru has a turbocharger so the power comes at very limited range of rpm's. Read EJ20 specification and You will see what I mean. I own STI, my cus also, my friend has a new one and his bro got new one tuned to over 400hp. Still we all (3 gen.of Imprezas) know that the best moment to gear change is at (about) 6500, even the Tuner said that. I think that they are cheating here.

They arbitrarily put a start point with no idea if the lead was way too big or too little. In this case it was too big. That evo would need over 400 hp to "win"
WOW ... no stock car will ever be able beat a group B race car. Audis became total boring, badly balanced and in stock form they are good in one thing. UNDERSTEEEEER. Audis build quality is fantastic but they are not realy sporty even if it is a TT RS. When you do one lap on the Nordschleife your brakes are gone. Realy nice for a performance car. NOT
damn it, Evo owned both best lap and time attack and yet everyone praises Audi, a shame. In real racing(not these outsider favouring) Evo would be keeping n1 position from start to end, here you have reverse schedule(fastest in drag race = worse pole-position, meaning that EVO was on the bottom of the grid cause of the best drag result, while Audi was on top with worse). And surely there is driver factor, but others are not so bad drivers either.

Evo was 2-4 second a lap quicker than the rest of the field. Pretty impressive as the TT RS is a quick car.

They don't have 280hp anymore, the spec c has 305hp with the 2.0 and the R205 has 315hp.
Plus they use different turbo than the usdm ones. Jdms have torque under 4000rpm while jdms ones dont

R205 is better under braking and has better exit acceleration. Just hasn't got the legs on the straights to overtake.
