He sounded so innocent when he said “clary you’re hurting me” that it just breaks my heart 😭😭😭
yeah, because he was truely innocent then. In the book he died as a human.
Ikkkk huhuhu feels like real emotion. It doesnt seem like manipulating
Me too 🥺
Broke mine too. He didn’t deserve to die
🤎💔
HE HAD RED HAIR. Just wanted to say that.
He died as Clary’s brother and not the monster that Valentine had made him.
I don’t watch the show but I have read the books. This scene made me cry
Me tooooo... :'(
ikr! he died with regret and as a good guy in his mother's arms! so many scenes in the book could have evoked so much emotion if properly executed
No one in the history of humanity has ever said that they read the books and not seen the movies/shows. Ever.
I KNOW! OMG. Have yet to read the books, but (I know wtf) swear I read somewhere they were twins?
Actually they didnt talk about his hair. They talked about his eyes. He had green eyes after she stabbed him in the books
the fact that she didnt physically hurt him to death but embraced and loved him to defeat his evilness is just beyond my expectations about how it ends and it's so beautiful
Did anyone not feel bad for her when Lilith marked her with the same rune as Johnathan while he was in the glass coffin .
Loved him to death
Yeah
It was beautifuk
her rune was burning him but more so spiritually and damaging his soul rather then his physical body almost like buting his demon blood on the inside
The Angels:"Oh, you saved everyone in the world from your brother Jonathan?"
*Takes away runes*
Me: Wtf?!
Was what this rune that disappeared?
A brother that was even more of an unnatural mess that the runes Clary created, and all of that was the fault of their crazy father that made the weird experiments in the first place but the angels were like no, let's punish Clary, she messed up with our precious runes
Exactly!! That was stupid!
Yeah, everyone would be pretty much fucked up if it wasn't for Clary's runes.
I like clary but. I can face the fact that she was going to abuse her runes. the angels more often indicated that she should not force her runes if the angels did not want that. anyway she did it and I know she did it out of goodness but it didn't end that well. when she used her necromancy rune on valentine I also noticed that she was really going the wrong way. As Still I like her and if I were her I would also give up my identity to save him.
"I've never felt so . . . Light"
-(book) Jonathan Morgenstern, City of Heavenly Fire.
Iceswallow Cmen 😔😔😔
His last words before he died in the book mmm
Makes me cry everytime I read it
I'm listening to the audio books just for this scene, I want to know how it ends up in the books....
The first and last words of boy that never had a chance.
2:19 his voice when he said that Clary was hurting him - I am crying ... even though I'm not the biggest fan of Jonathan, this scene was devastating
yeah the voice he said it in was said you could feel the pain
Do you know the violin Music we Heard ?
I fell in love with Jonathan more than I should ever since luke baines played Jonathan. He was soo good at playing the character 😭❤️
I cried in the book when his eyes turned green and he said he never felt so light it was one of the saddest things I've ever read besides the epilogue of clockwork princess
true! both of them are gut-wrenching 😢
Clockwork princess alway brings back so much bittersweet feelings in my heart.. I cried *A LOT* in that book.
Awwwww Will😭❤️
I’ve never seen a comment more true
OMG I CRIED A RIVER WITH CLOCKWORK PRINCESS
Am i the only one that thinks that Clary actually loved him (as a brother ofc) and didnt want to kill hime but had to
ELiANA TAPiNOU of course she didn’t want to but she didn’t have a choice
Isnt it that obvious
What do you mean the only one? Thats literally the whole point if the scene. She says it outloud.
Yes, in the books she, and her mom, are realle sad for Jonathan. They really love him like human (Jonathan) ,not like damon (Sebastian).
SAME
When his hair turns ginger I believe it symbolises that without the evil he could’ve been good like Clary, what’s heartbreaking is when he and Clary hugged and he didn’t fight back
She took all the demon blood out of his system but without it he can't survive
Painful but warm
It's the "his eyes were green" of the tv show
this scene was incredibly good written! a very sad & good ending for jonathan...
Scenes by Scenes no it wasn’t it was utter shite. He was a god for fucks sake, his power was so strong he murdered the seelie queen without even trying then to die from a hug? How on Earth is that seen as “gOoD wRiTiNg”
Name Because clary has the power of the angels so it would make sense that she could kill him
@@Name-gt7lf the hug didn't destroy him it was a rune
@@Name-gt7lf It wasn't the hug that killed him it was the runes. Clary has the powers of the angles so it actually does make sense. She said in the interview it took away all of his demon blood which he can't live without. You could see his hair turning back. I do think they could have been more clear though. This is no hate towards you. I just wanted to explain it
lol you should read how he died in the books
"His eyes were green"~ City of Heavenly Fire
has the exact same effect as Jonathans hair turning red in the show. It shows that it really was the demon blood that made him a psychotic and evil person. By burning away the demon blood he is a good person and just like clary. That's why in the book he said that he felt so light after his demon blood was burned away by the heavenly fire.
I think here everyone misunderstands how devastating and broken Clary is. That's her brother. Her family. She had to take away his life to save him. The demon blood from Lilith did so much damage and while she was warned not to draw anther rune again she had to. She had to save her brother from himself. Raziel is just acting like a child because she could make her own runes without his blessing.
omg thanks for explaining! I think I need to rewatch season 4 because I don’t remember he being warned about not drawing another runs.
@@jama5336 no worries. There is no season 4 it's season 3b. She was warned in the finale by her mother who was sent to give her the message from Raziel
Raziel is acting stupid. Clary had to kill her own brother to saved the world from distinction. #Give Clary her runes back
I don’t know why they did that since in the book they don’t take her powers
@@erikagalvan8426 they had to wrap things up very quickly due to the show being cancelled. It was said there could have been a good few more seasons. Although in a way if you think about it, if someone where to pick the show back up then there is the whole her gaining her memories back and then her gaining her ability too.
"Let me go." "I am." is the most powerful exchange of words to be had. It hit me so hard. And although they had to rush this because they were cancelled, this didn't feel any less powerful. When she talked about how they did share a childhood, even just subconsciously, that made him being her brother even more real to me and the loss even bigger.
Angels: *Ohhh, she saved the WHOLLLEEEE world? Just a sec.*
**STRIPS RUNES**
Angels: *Ayeeeee there we go!*
raziel was just mad cause she was special and powerful enough to create her own runes and didn’t have to suck up to him
the angels went: runes go brr
The angels didnt care about something so trivial. They were more worried about a possible threat to their power
I actually kind of liked Jonathan, he may have been a villain but he was one of the cool villains. R.I.P. Jonathan❤️
Yea he tried to rape her in the book...
He was my favorite character...
He was gross
@@jman4668 HE was never taught what platonic love was. It wasn't his fault. He was experimented on by his disgusting father and tortures by has sadistic mother.
@@mukkuoo Oh yeah I forgot about that....Ughh!
She was giving up everything in this scnene...like literally EVERYTHING😭❤
@nickeboi Ok yeah maybe that's true but she gave up her brother, her friends, the love of her life and the shadow world she loved so much....but still I think we can all agree that it was sad🤷🏼♀️😕
But she was beautiful tho
“clary you’re hurting me” “let me go” 😭😭
In city of heavenly fire, Jonathan's death was so heartbreaking because they actually managed to get rid of his evil - so the real Jonathan Morgenstern was revealed. It was so beautiful that he got to see his mother and clary before he died 😢 Even though the show is completely different, it was just as beautiful 💜
Nadia Begum ikr . ❤️
They managed to capture the same essence which is why I completely loved the finale bc plot points were changed but in the end it gave the same feeling so I am completely satisfied.
I agree, the book scene was beautifully written and heartbreaking at the same time.
why did she killed him if the get rid of his evil
@@noone-bp1euthe sword of heavenly fire killed him, cleared all the evil from him, but there was so small goodness in him that he just wasn't able to live.
This scene broke me. It was written so well, Jonathan is my favourite despite the fact he was a villain. I hated him in the books but right at the end... He made me love him. Luke Baines was amazing. #SaveShadowhunters
Jonathan was the last of her biological family😢. Although she has her friends, Luke , Jace and all, watching/knowing that the last blood family member die is very sad. Same thing with Clary. I feel so sad for her😢😢😢😢
Tanya K In the books Jocelyn is Alive. And Jonathan has a son named Ash with the Seelie Queen
Clary: saves the entire world, sacrifices her brother, ready to give up her runes and Jace
The Angels: hahaha Rune go whoosh
I have this theory/wish, that Jonathan was reborn as an angel after his death and is now living up there with his mother Jocelyn, looking after his younger sister. That after all, he has always been a victim of circumstance that was never given a chance and that he is in fact a good human. I think this would be beautiful!
@Diana I agree, I think Jonathan is one of the best villains of all time. Not because he is super evil or kills many people but because he shows us not to judge people at first sight.
Man, I'll miss that show so much. It gives us so many role models and modern statements we should entrench in our society!
What? Jocelyn didn't die. Spoiler alert : she finally married Luke. Why are you guys even watching this show? Read the book
@@yehaniwijekoon3212 I tried but the books are so horribly written >_> The show is much better, and fixed a couple problematic things from the books as well(the later seasons not the very first)
@@yehaniwijekoon3212 Damn why are you on a clip from the show if you don't want people to talk about what happened in the show?
True he does have shadowhunter blood, especially cuz she burned the evil out of him.
All he wanted was a family to love him 😭😭
But he kill innocent people
💔💔
wasn't he into his own sister tho?
This scene is just so beautifully written. From the way they talk with each other and her finally telling him what he wanted to hear all the time, that someone really loves him to her hugging him with her wings. I cried so much during this scene, to me it doesn’t really feel like she’s killing him, feels more like saving him from himself, because he can‘t do it, but it’s what he so desperately wants. To be saved and loved...it’s like Clary is his guardian angel and I really love that!
This scene is so powerful. They did an amazing job portraying this scene. It's a total heartbreak.
you can hear how hurt Jonathan is when he says “clary.....clary you’re hurting me..” 🥺 2:20
to me it's so powerful when he says"let me go" and she answers "I am" 😢
The moment when Clary's angel wings wrapped to Jonathan and feeling in pained 😭one of the best scenes I consider in this series
No matter how angry Jonathan is, Clary always calm him down. Such effect she has on him. How he loved her
This scene is so sad but beautifully written. And both Kat and Luke's actings killed it, my heart broke and I cried during their talk. So well done.
Possibly the best written/acted scene of the entire show (though there are many fabulous scenes). The part that always gets me is when Jonathan says "Let me go" and Clary replies with "I am," as she gently lowers him to the ground. Because that's what she's doing. She's letting go of the brother she wanted so badly, the last of her blood family, in order to save the world AND him. Because she knows it's too late to save him from his own darkness. It's so beautiful and tragic at the same time!
The fact that she killed hime while crying made me realise she wasn't only killing him for everyone else, it was also for him.
originally (in the books) clary kills him with the sword of heavenly fire but in here she embraced him to death which shows more emotion and feeling. both of them were sad in my opinion, but this was a better death
I miss the speech he gives , it made him seem more 3D to me
Which rune that clary used to defeat jonathan?
This is so sad. Clary kills Jonathan to save everyone. And then her memories combined with her runes are taken. Goodbye Shadowhunters
i think this scene showed exactly how much clary does love her brother and even if he went the wrong path all he ever wanted was to be loved.
Omg why? 😭❤️ Why is she loosing her runes after killing her brother, that's not fair. She is the only one who can kill him and the angels are doing that, whyy? 😭😭❤️
At this moment I actually hate Raziel like never before
It’s like they’re punishing her for the sins oh her whole family
Ines Hrdliczka it’s because she was using them for the wrong reasons at times. For example, when she resurrected Jace. Or used them to make portals.
@@arstindaniel203I'm pretty sure it was Raziel because Ithuriel is dead (and Jocelyn told Clary so)
Ines Hrdliczka I knoooo! She basically just saved the world and the angels are punishing her for that! :((((
One of the most emotional scenes in the entire show, and there were many.
This honestly broke my heart. I was against Jonathan, obviously. But I can understand him. I love the fact the show didn't just label him as absolutely evil. All he ever wanted was love, he was tortured from birth.
Its perfect.
OOF THIS SCENE GETS ME SO GOOD
phenomenal acting & the imagery of Clary with angel wings is just so appropriately beautiful - killing with kindness, literally the epitome of her as a character! Just so beautiful in every way.
Jonathan was one of my favourite movie villains. So full of devastating feelings, yet so eager for love and acceptance. And huge chapeau bas for an actor, he portrayed Jonathan reliably and movingly. That's the moment when I have to farewell exciting character, but I know the end is so on point.
They should bring back this series plz
"clary, you're hurting me" shattered me and I don't know why
Goodbye shadowhunters 😔
That was actually one of the most emotional moments everrrrrr
This scene broke me. She hugged him to death and when she cried at the end I didn’t think I would be that sad when Jonathan died but boy was I wrong ❤️😭 #saveshadowhunters
I not love Jonathan but I was sad when he died ! It's so sad 😭 Clary save everyone and she lose his runes
Her" not his
I can't believe they canceled this show. This was an amazing scene
Jonathan: Clary, Clary you’re hurting me
Clary: shhh it’s ok
This scene is so sad and emotional Kat really put the emotion into it it shows us that even though Clary was upset she had to let her brother die for the best and for the good of the Shadow World she was the girl the girl who wanted to save her brother from the tower the sister who wanted to save the prince from the tower but was unable to and eventually killed the sibling she loved most in the world despite being evil hoping to save him from darkness
Bravo Kat amazing acting *claps* 👏🏻❤️
Clary has such a huge heart. Loved this scene alot.
I love shadowhunters like if you agree😭😭😭😭
I agree and I didn't want it to end so I gusse I have to watch it all over and pretend I haven't seen before
Yeah I agree. But I still think the books are better.
This was so emotional and did the books justice, even if it was made differently
I loved jonathan so much. he was one of my comfort characters and i cried so hard when he died. I just wanted to see him have the chance to live a normal life with clary and find real love whether it's romantic or family
When he says that she's hurting him he sounded so lost and sad. I couldn't help but feel bad for him.
I knew that Jonathan's good even though he had a demon blood. He's always longing for that love that he ever wanted but Lilith always told him that no one loves him.
Remember the time where we heard Isaiah and Dom saying ,, So. What. Are. You. Waiting. For. Subribe. Now. "
Now it's Isaiah's
GUTEN TAG. WILLKOMMEN!!
this scene was so powerful, and it also had much meaning.
Kat and Luke did an amazing job, I'm really proud of them!
This made my cry so much.Clary said so many sad stuff and then betrayed Jonathan buy killing him when he accepted her apology.Clary just ended him.It was a sad part i cried here till the end of the ep.It was bitter-sweet 😵😩😰
Good job clary
I was sooo upset about that 😭😭😭😭
Believe me it was also Really embarrassing for clary. I know that Jonathan is not completely bad because of his past and All. but clary has Still the worst. even though she knew what she will lose if she drew a new rune. she did it anyway to protect everyone and also Jonathan himself.if he were there longer and would continue to kill. Then he will probably never see light in the hereafter so better now than later.
@@joke1965 true but the way he died tho was heart wrenching 😭💔
@@joke1965 why making a new rune made her lose the others?
Kat and Luke are the best! The acting is incredible! A really heartbreaking scene, even though Jonathan was a villain. Such a shame the show was canceled just like that! Shame!
i just wish that we could have gotten to see more of jonathan and clary's bond and their brother sister bond
She really killed him with kindness 😂
I just finish watching the series and this part made me cry. If you will look deeper there's a lot of lessons from this series and I dont think I cant get over with it , not now . I cant huhu.
THIS SCENE KILLS ME
PLEASE I NEED S4 AND S5 S6 S7 S8 S9 S10
This scene was so upsetting for Jonathan and Clary😪 Wish shadowhunters could come back❤
one thing about me: i barely cry at TV shows. at movies sometimes, but not at shows. i get incredibly invested but i almost never *actually cry* .
and this made me tear up SO BAD.
everything about this is tragedy and s o w e l l w r i t t e n . . . . ! ! !
This scene was just epic! He deserved to have such a beautiful death in his sister's arms.. i cry everytime i see it 😢😢😢😢 ave atque vale! She did the right thing and she lost her runes. I hope the channel to decide to continue the serie... All the actors were amazing (Sorry for my English)
I want to see a sequel to Shadowhunters in film version, and Clary taking her rightful place as an angel, because if I have seen something, it is that she is a true angel, guide and protect, never punish or destroy
I never cried in my life as I cried with the end of this
2:19 when her wings came out and when he said you're hurting me 😢
Jonathan is so unlike any other evil characters in other ya novels. All he craves for is love, which retains him on the good side instead of turning totally evil. In the end, he still loves his sister, the only true family he’s got but never truly experienced. I haven’t read the books yet but from the show it seems there are really deep profound meanings the author wants to convey. I love Jonathan anw.
me: watching this video till the very end and crying over the scene
isaiah: GUTEN TAG! WILLKOMMEN
Why I'm crying🥺😭I watch shadowhunters many times
I felt so bad for him and the fact that he loves clary so much and he cries out to her when he's in pain just breaks my heart
He did some messed up stuff but that's because his life was messed up and the people who realised him were literal demons and monsters
Okay, but the most heartbreaking part of this entire video was when Dom says, ‘Sneak peeks from future episodes.’
I’m so mad rn
"You are my queen, now and always."
At the end clary truly did save Jonathan she saved him from himself
2:25-2:28 that Clary your hurting me part is just heartbreaking 🥺
I just finished the show today and this scene had me crying all the time.
This was the scene where I totally broke down and cried during the whole episode... It‘s beautiful. It‘s so sad, but goddamn this scene is beautiful heartbreaking... I actually felt so so bad for Jonathan. He was so vulnerable at that moment...
OH MY GOD!!!! I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH!!! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
MY HEART WAS BROKEN FOR HIM💔💔😭😭😭
We have the same pain
Although this scene finished fast , it was really gud !! Luke Bains was excellent in this scene.....😍😍
I know Jonathan was bed but this scene made me cry non stop.
the way she let him go was so kind, thoughtful... It was perfect how the last thing she showed him was that she loved him no matter what, that he'll be in her heart forever*. She used her last rune to kill Jonathan in a kind way. :'''''( :) loved this show so much.
#saveshadowhunters
*(even though she forgets afterward)
We need a season 4. 💔
Oh I cried during this it was just so lovely that she held him as he died and knew she did love him.
its was such a good end but i cried when clary lost all her runes 🥺🥺 and when she again saw jace i cried FREAKING much
Razelie was just mad that if she learned the full potential of her power that she could be more powerful than him😒
When Clary needs to sacrifice not only her brother but also herself even though she knew the consequence of doing another rune. 👉👈
#SHADOWHUNTERS THE BEST SERIES , who still wants an extra season to give like to comm ! ❤❤❤
When you're just sacrifice your own brother and yourself just to save others. It only shows that Love is sacrifice. Clary just love his brother but he can't help it, he just have to ignore the love and the pain it takes.
This was an amazing scene. Very sad but beautiful. Kat and Luke were great.
i cried at “clary you’re hurting me”
She literally gave up EVERYTHING in this scene
-her love
-1/2 her family
-her birth right
-BASICALLY her entire life that she just recently learned about, accepted and learned to love.....
It's really petty of the Angels......sad ending tho.....💞💞💯💯
#shadowhuntersforlife.....
He was misunderstood, abbused and all he wanted was love. Rest in peace Jonathan
For a while it felt unfair that clary seemed to be the sole one punished and for doing the one thing that saved everyone until i thought of it in another way.
Many of the shadowhunters broke rules but the rules broken were ones that could be rightly punished by their own kind, the only one who could do with some angelic punishment would be the father.
Remember clarys punishment wasn't permanent, she was just essentially put in shadowhunter timeout for breaking the rules.
😢 what would have made it even more heartbreaking is if he said ‘I feel so light’ right before he dies and his eyes turn green cause she burned away all of his demon taint
The way he said “clary you’re hurting me” made me cry he deserved better 😭😭😭
I hope we can #saveshadowhunters so clace can be happy
By the angel!! One of the saddest deaths EVER!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
NOW IM CRYING AGAIN GOSH DAMN IT!!! 😭😭😭
Both the book and show scenes are so powerful and heartbreaking…the fact that Jonathan died being himself, someone who could have loved and laugh and…be good, its so sad that he never got the chance to be himself until right before he died! 💔😢😢
Clary didn't deserve what the angels did to her. She killed her only remaining family member to save the world using a power they gave her and they punished her for it.
