Hi! I was the featured bride at the 5:55 mark. Today is actually our anniversary. Thank you so much for featuring us. 🤍 Such an honor to hear those kind words coming from international performers like you whom we look up to! Thank you for appreciating the Filipino music. You guys are amazing!
Its not a tradition its the couples choice. There are diff traditions in every region on how to celebrate wedding but not this one. Here in the Phils you can celebrate your wedding the way you like it. It doesnt matter if its an old tradition or as unique or extreme you want it.
This way of wedding entrance is not the norms but wedding here is what and how the bride and groom prefer it to be..there are brides and grooms and their entourage, dances while entering the church..😅
it never used to be "do it the way you like it", though. just 25 years ago, it was usually only the customary rings, arras, cord, veil and candles at the ceremony, and then the money dance, suman and kalamay auction, feeding each other with cake and wine, doves released from a papier mache bell and other local traditions. and then social media came up and people went, "oh i want something like that", or "i want something different". new stuff becoming the norm seem to be the wacky poses after the formal shots and the bridesmaids and groomsmen having dance numbers. i miss the charm of simpler old weddings where the event is more about the families and the community, and couples have little leeway besides the color motif. but i have to admit today's wedding albums look much better and are more inviting to browse through than the old ones.
You should watch Lea Salonga’s wedding. She sang her wedding vows. So touching! Composed by Louie Ocampo and penned by Freddie Santos as a wedding gift to the couple.
When my brother got married he sang while his bride is walking down the aisle. It was so touching and most of the people cried. And my cousins sang while the wedding is happening as the background. ❤❤❤
proud & love being a Filipino.... a happy, resilient, musically inclined people... thank you Efra and Waleska for all the appreciations to filipino talents & culture
we don't know that it becomes traditional or unique to other countries, all we know that we sing all types of stages in our life. Like we sing when we are happy, sad, broken hearted and other occasions.
2:32 "Teleserye moment" 😁😅 Do what ever you want in your own wedding moment Wale to make you Happy and your Fam/Relatives 😁 . You well known Filipino ppl are great singers so it make sense that they sang to their Wedding Day 🥰
True. I'm so shock how Ms. Lea is so good in controlling her own emotions coz her husband is literally crying already and the song is sooooo beautiful.
The couple are bandmates. So decided to just sing on their wedding to avoid crying while walking on the aisle. The bride, Marianne Amoy joined the tawag ng tanghalan 5 years ago.
One video i saw bet a Filipino and a foreign lady done abroad, the lady twice sang a tagalog song and played the violin. So heartwarming many guests couldn't hide their emotions teary eyed.
Music is an integral part of Philippine life. We don't have to be a pro at it but we do appreaciate music and because our voice is an instrument that is innate, we make use of it. So singing in weddings, in school graduation, even in funerals is just a form of self expression--expressing our joy, our jubilation, our victory, and even our grief.
Yes, we have a playlist! I used to organize weddings for our church. And one of my questions to the bride & groom when planning is if either one or both of them wants to sing a song while the bride walks down the aisle, or if they want their family/friend to do it. And also during the reception if they want to sing or a family/relative/friend would dedicate a song to the couple. That is if they don't want to invite a band.😊 So with that we have a playlist: 1. Wedding entourage song 2. Bride's song as she walks down the aisle 3. Instrumental song used as buffer during the wedding 4. Celebratory song as they are announced as an official couple 5. Tiktok songs for the reception as the entourage and couple dances 6. 1st dance 7. Money dance 8. Song dedications...😅
I miss being a wedding organizer in the Philippines. There's nowhere else celebrate weddings like we do. It is always an honor to be working with the couple and to all the team to make this moment special and memorable. Most of all, the fulfillment of making the event successful is the most rewarding feeling. When you see the couple and all the guests happy faces make all the stress paid off. CONGRATS TO THE COUPLE! Wishing you a happy forever.. best wishes!
The groom serenading the bride too… or the family members… we have a family choir! 😂 here I am thinking these are so normal. Didn’t know not all countries do this. 🤭
When I got married, I wanted to sing at the church too but I didn't trust myself enough not to cry while doing that. So we hired an in-house singer from the church and lemme tell you, I didn't expect that he has the voice of Martin Nievera! It was freaking awesome! I sang at our reception instead. hahaha!
Its a natural tradition here in the Phils. But before they only hired singers or church choires to sing, but now, its been upgraded and the wedding couples are the one singing and giving the message of love for the bride or groom! Very touching and lovely, right? Thats what we are Filipinos, loving and caring!
Funny you said wedding playlist. Yes we do! Yes we do! 😂 You don't practice that hard, you just wing it. You sing your favorite song 😍 Sing with love ❤️
In my wedding reception I sang the song "sing me your song again daddy" When I dance with my father... and my 2 brothers sing the song "count on me" by Bruno Mars... they revise some of the lyrics to make it more perfect. And it really touch my heart.
Not everyone does this. We Filipinos just grew up loving how to sing although some not that great but with practice, they become one. Also, in the Philippines the younger ones are being coaxed by their parents to perform or sing with prizes during Christmas or get together. 😊
This is gonna be a new trend in Philippine weddings. From the Singing cooks and waiters to the singing bride and groom, life is like a musical thing in the Philippines.
When I got married, there was also like this, we hired a singer who sung our favorite songs and our theme song. This is common in the Philippines, especially for the millennials and onwards.
. . . though I grew up in the States am still Filipino and scenes likes these makes proud to be a citizen of God. And You guys never cease to amaze me I love you and GODBLESS us all 😊❤️🙏🏻✝️🇵🇭
I think this is a modern adaptation of a Filipino tradition called harana, where a man seranade his beloved as part of courtship. In some places, the person being seranade also sings back. So I'm not surprised that it's adapted in weddings too.
the bridal march always have WEDDING SONG. this song is played when the bride is walking down the isle. some people would just play a track but in most cases there would be a LIVE (WEDDING) SINGER while the bride is walking down the isle. if one of the couple happens to be a singer they do the singing. IKAW is the most famous wedding song.
The first featured wedding happened in province of Bohol she's a day winner of Tawag Ng Tanghalan, really a fairy tale story of their own having endured teenage parenthood they both strive on and continued their studies despite all financial burdens being both a working students and at the same time parents and through their sheer determination or the loved they have shown.later the bride was able convinced her father{an army colonelf but at that time is still a major serving at U.N contingent assigned in Syria)for a lending hand since the support was cutoff due to early pregnancies, maybe due the love of the grand child or a fatherly love the colonel father gave in. Now the bride is a teacher and the husband is a seafarer and this is their church wedding.
Waleska, Efra that is normal, you must have known already by now, SHARON CUNETA, (actress, singer) the so called mega star of Philippine cinema, she sang on her wedding ceremony ( first marriage, and to Gabby Conception). Not every couple who get married sing though! it could be someone else sing(s) for them!
Two of my cousins did also that. One is singing while his bride walking down the aisle. While the other cousin is same with the bride in the video. She's singing while walking down the aisle.. and it is soooo sweet witnessing those.. 🤍
It was our choice to make our wedding vow and ceremony musical since both my husband and i can sing. Our songs were originally composed for our wedding.
My colleague sang while walking the aisle during the reception part of her wedding. It was so heart-warming to watch her did it. This is not a Filipino wedding tradition yet. I guess it's not far from becoming one since singing is an integral part of Filipinos' life.
No it is not compulsory, only for the gutsy ones. Usually a wedding singer is hired to sing the wedding song while the bride is walking down the aisle. Martin Nievera's and David Pomeranz's are usually the songs of choice here in the Philippines.❤🇵🇭
I hate to break it to you, but having a singing bride, groom, or both during the wedding is actually uncommon here in the Philippines, although it does happen for a few to some engaged couples, but it's just that it's uncommon, less to non-traditional, and a more or much more modern to contemporary practice here in the Philippines for the bride, groom, or both of them to sing or to do the singing of secular wedding, wedding-related, or romantic songs during their own or the wedding, wedding ceremony, wedding proper, and/or the Mass itself. It can and does usually happen though mostly during and at the reception or the reception area or venue after the wedding, wedding ceremony, wedding proper, and/or the Mass held inside or at the basilica, cathedral, church, chapel, shrine, or wedding venue, and after-wedding receptions is usually held in hotels, resorts, or the residence of the couple or of one of the couple's family or clan member, such as their nuclear family members or parents or their extended family members. They only commonly sing when they do sing church, religious, or worship songs, some answers or responses during the wedding, wedding ceremony, wedding proper, and/or the Mass, or a verse from the Book of Psalms in unison during the wedding, wedding ceremony, wedding proper, and/or the Mass with most to all of the other people inside or at the basilica, cathedral, church, chapel, shrine, or the wedding venue that witnesses the wedding. The more common practice is having another singer or more, such as a choir or chorale group, and the assigned commentator and Psalmist to sing or do the singing of a few to most of the singing parts during the wedding, wedding ceremony, wedding proper, and/or the Mass, such as the leading of the singing of church, religious, or worship songs, some answers or responses during the wedding, wedding ceremony, wedding proper, and/or the Mass, or the verses from the Book of Psalms, or the singing of secular wedding, wedding-related, or romantic songs for the engaged and/or already newlywed couple. By the way, these are only mostly true among the predominant Roman Catholic Christian Filipinos, which make up or comprise more or less than 80% of the total population of Filipinos. Other denominations, sects, branches, churches, religions, beliefs, belief systems, traditions, and/or sociocultural, religious, spiritual, native, indigenous, tribal, or ethnolinguistic communities do have their own ways, manners, forms, styles, cultures, traditions, customs, beliefs, procedures, or processes of and for weddings, wedding ceremonies, wedding or wedding-related rituals, or even before, during, and after the wedding proper, which I am personally not the right person to talk or discuss about, even generally but most especially in detail, because I am baptized and grew up most of my life as a Roman Catholic Christian Filipino from predominantly Roman Catholic Christian Filipino clans and local community, and I am less to not knowledgeable, aware, informed, educated, and/or immersed, not even for at least enough, with the other ones and how they do them.
waiting for their reaction to that. Warning: it's actually so touching that they might get emotional, but Ms. Lea arggh she's so good in controlling her emotions. Like really.
I'm an amateur singer and this is actually my dream wedding, to sing a duet with my husband while I'm walking down the aisle. But I ended up with a man who's not a singer, and I don't want to get the most spotlight on our wedding, so I chose not to sing. 😁 I sing for him when we hang out for a karaoke fun time though.
Yo hommie you covered so many filipino talent singer in the Phil and this one in the chruch is very normal because what you said we filipinos are very unique when we sing and im so thankfull to both of you for supporting the filipino raw talent like this and for that i always supporting tour channel too ...and yes we filipinos sings very well no matter if you are not a singer we sings in our hearth and lastly no age limit hahahahahah.....
Me and my husband didn't sing but we danced. Not like the first dance as husband and wife but a dance routine consisting of 5 songs I think. Our wedding day was both our birthdays as well so we thought of perfroming as a gift to our guests.
I will not be surprised if the couple (from the first video) are members of a choir. Hehehe! Just goes to show that Filipinos really love music and singing. Proud to be a Filipino. 😉 Waleska is right.... I think Filipinos have a wedding playlist. 😁😄😄 Oh...I think you should search for Lea Salonga's wedding video as well. She sang too. Hehehe!
Some couples hire singers during their wedding but the usual practice the groom sings their love song as the bride walk along the ailes. Some serenade their wife at the reception. It's a normal practice in the Philippines.
moira sang her wedding vows too. its worth it to mention bc although it didnt work in the end, it was a beautiful wedding vow/song. i think you should watch it.
It is very important in a wedding to make it special wedding day is to have a singer to sing live in their own choice. It is not a Filipino tradition wedding for the couple to sing during their wedding ceremony but you can arrange it to be memorable🤔🤭😀
Filipino in love in music. music is colourful in our life not complete our day without music we feel sad all day if can't heard music and im like that 😂😂 i dont have energy without music 🎶🎶
During my brother his best friend sung a heart touching song dedicated to the groom and bride while most of the guests had fallen tears,a tears of joy I guess song that touch every one to hear..
After the wedding mass, our priest (family friend) surprised us by singing How did you know by Gary V and my husband and I did our first dance in front of the altar. RIP, the singing priest Fr. Elso Nalangan (+)
Filipinos would always put music on any kind of event.. like every event... I have experience with my uncles wake, since when he's alive he used to be a musician, and his kids and grandchildren are musically inclined so every night a live band performs to keep the people awake.. ^_^ .. some people would also put karaoke during vigil/wake, not all but it does happens "only in the Philippines"
youll fall inlove in the phillipines over and over again, no matter whats the occasion there is always a big room for singing name it they always have it
mostly, there's a live singer or band during the ceremony. it's rare that they sing themselves, unless they used to singing and really have good voices
Most common wedding here in the Philippines is that there will be a singer who will sang the favorite song of the bride or couple or choosen song for the bride while walking on aisle... my uncle sang a song while his older sister walking at the aisle before.. others are their relatives etc.
I don't know in other countries, but here in the philippines they will play a music even in your funeral. They will play music in your journey from your house to the cemetery on speaker.
Its nice if all of us can sing beautifully. Not everybody can do it. Some are super shy and most dont have the mo ey to do all beautiful wedding like this. But yes a lot of Filipinos can sing. Back then in pur Region or Province they newly weds dance and people give them money. The sides of the froom qwill give to the bride and the bride side will give to the groom. Sime couple have wine 🍷 or alcohol whoever tale the drink need to give them money... Many kinds of traditions.
Only in the philippines, there are many things that originated in the phils. Filipinos are exceptional and very creative that other nationaties followed .

This is not common in the Philippines, not even a tradition. These couples have singing talents. Beautiful!

Everything is a musical in the Philippines! In fact, Filipinos probably feel that life is one big musical. Every life has its own soundtrack 😅

Only few does that. but one thing for sure. Music is life. And Philippines/Filipinos are embeded with music.
Waleska, Efra that is normal, you must have known already by now, SHARON CUNETA, (actress, singer) the so called mega star of Philippine cinema, she sang on her wedding ceremony ( first marriage, and to Gabby Conception). it's this simple to define what music is for us Filipinos, music is our soul.
Two of my cousins did also that. One is singing while his bride walking down the aisle. While the other cousin is same with the bride in the video. She's singing while walking down the aisle.. and it is soooo sweet witnessing those.. 🤍

Yey, you actually reacted to this. I sent it to you in Tiktok. Love it.

This is FACTS and I hate when idiot commenters in the comment section love to claim things when in fact black people do this more often in America.
I love Waleska saying the word “Ikaw”! And it was perfect sound of Filipino ❤
Proud Filipino here.....
Please do more reaction about us Filipinos
Thank you❤
Just sing with all of your heart and emotions, no reherse, will capture all straight 🏹💘
*This is new, and getting more and more popular.* Singing at a wedding is starting to be the new trend.
Even Lea Salonga sang at her own wedding, during their exchange of wedding vows ❣
waiting for their reaction to that.
Warning: it's actually so touching that they might get emotional, but Ms. Lea arggh she's so good in controlling her emotions. Like really.
You should hear Lea Salonga sing her vows
"Araw-araw" would be a freaking awesome wedding song.
I'm an amateur singer and this is actually my dream wedding, to sing a duet with my husband while I'm walking down the aisle. Its the expression of their love via music / singing...very solemn ceremony...love the idea tho 🥰

Hi Waleska and Efra - I am always delighted to hear watch your reactions...
Lea Salonga also sang in her wedding while walking down the aisle. A song was composed exclusively for her wedding.
I LOVE THAT.
She sang "Two Words (I do)"
She sang during her wedding vow, not while walking down the aisle.
Oops! Thanks for the correction.
Filipino wedding is one of a kind.
Wow you got the second video. I have only seen the first one. Thanks for this.
Me and my husband didn't sing but we danced. Not like the first dance as husband and wife but a dance routine consisting of 5 songs I think. Our wedding day was both our birthdays as well so we thought of perfroming as a gift to our guests.
Lea Salonga started it I think. She also sang down the aisle. Regine also sang her vow.
Even in funeral processions we have great singers singing on the way to the church or cemetery. Only in the Philippines!
When I got married, I also sang while walking in the aisle while my husband wiped his tears because he didn't expect it to be happened 😂😂
This is not traditional but this is common in filipino weddings. 🥰🥰
Tear dropping episode man. Awesome
Other songs usually sung during Pinoy weddings are:
1. When God made you (Newsong)
2. God Bless Broken Road (Rascal Flatts)
3. Forevermore (Side A)
You want me to sing for your wedding?😂
IKAW ANG BIGAY NG MAYKAPAL ❤
Meaning
Youve given by god❤❤❤
I will not be surprised if the couple (from the first video) are members of a choir. Hehehe!
Just goes to show that Filipinos really love music and singing. Proud to be a Filipino. 😉
Waleska is right.... I think Filipinos have a wedding playlist. 😁😄😄

Some couples hire singers during their wedding but the usual practice the groom sings their love song as the bride walk along the ailes. Some serenade their wife at the reception. It's a normal practice in the Philippines.
Wedding singing? Wonderful!!!
The first time I've seen a bride sang a song in her wedding was decades plus ago, it was Lea Salonga!
Even Lea Salonga sang her wedding vow. You should check it out! My fav song when i sing on weddings. 😊
moira sang her wedding vows too. its worth it to mention bc although it didnt work in the end, it was a beautiful wedding vow/song. i think you should watch it.
You Guy's are so LOVELY...love u both..!!!
It is very important in a wedding to make it special wedding day is to have a singer to sing live in their own choice. It is not a Filipino tradition wedding for the couple to sing during their wedding ceremony but you can arrange it to be memorable🤔🤭😀
Filipinos are music lover . Love to sing and go anywhere with there is singing contest.
In the Philippines..a choice to sing on your wedding or you have your relatives to sing a song..or a gift of a friend...brother and sister
The couple's wants memorable wedding and unique.. and be the first Wedding Celebration they have and difference from other weddings.
They express their love by singing..
I am teary and envious 🥲
My husband plays the flute... so when we got married, he played our theme song as I walked down the aisle. I will never ever forget it.

^_^ .. some people would also put karaoke during vigil/wake, not all but it does happens "only in the Philippines"
youll fall inlove in the phillipines over and over again, no matter whats the occasion there is always a big room for singing
name it they always have it
When they can sing, they will do in church or in the reception, norm in the Philippines, so much talent always!
Oh! You’ve got to see Morissette Amon and her husband during their wedding day too. Their song is so beautiful ❤
mostly, there's a live singer or band during the ceremony. it's rare that they sing themselves, unless they used to singing and really have good voices
Brides awesome voices!!!

So true !commonly The wedding couple has its own wedding playlist.
Only in the philippines, there are many things that originated in the phils. Filipinos are exceptional and very creative that other nationaties followed .
As far as I know they're the first who did this in the Philippines. Safe to say they probably started a tradition here..
