Respect to Byron Jones for being honest to the realities of being NFL player. Team doctors/trainers should be making decisions for the longterm health & success of the players. Players have to feel comfortable that the health professionals around them has their interests at mind & the organization interests. That includes informed consent over all treatment possibilities. Example taking this shot can get you back in the game but slow the recovery process & have you out longer. This is why the player union & CBA exist.
This was a great video. Shoutout to Sweet for being a good podcast host too. He lets them boys talk instead of being ignorant just to get a word in. And then he asks good questions from the perspective of someone who didn't play in the NFL, like the rest of us viewers. Keep up the good work fellas
a metaphor for alex... i drove a truck for a company that let their trucks go... i have to stop for a d.o.t. spot inspection, the cop notes some defects with the truck, i'm like, "i told them about that but they won't fix it." cop is like, "you can refuse to drive it if they don't fix it." me, "you know what they would do? fire me and find someone else to drive this broken truck." i asked him for a favor, to write the ticket to the company and not me... he did.
The Players Union and all the players need to get an injury severance package which is mandatory in every single contract. If players are forced into retirement due to career-ending injuries they should be covered with some kind of severance with full coverage insurance. The Players destroy their body for $$$$$$.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 "i cant feel my chest" Ed Reed was that man💪🏾💪🏾 layed the wood to that guy, pause. 😂😂😂 i dont know how nobody laughed when he said that, yu know they all felt his pain tho, from a fan perspective and high school football standout myself i know he dead serious too. Meanwhile Julian Edelman is calling every nfl player today soft and a bitch for not playing through injuries. Meanwhile he takes all kinds of injections and shots and ended his career abruptly.
I'm glad he's okay but if you would have took that video to a choreographer that would have been the new dance crave. What's so funny I saw this on big hits on youtube a month ago lol but thank U God he was able to get up an walk off the field on his own.
Football isn’t the only dangerous job, ppl never talk about xgames/ extreme sports but with these dangerous jobs ppl know the risks. And an adult has a right to choose what they want to do
Professional wrestling one of the dangerous and physically, sometimes mentally challenging forms of sports and athletics. Even though it’s scripted but the injuries and toll it takes your body is very real. Watch under the mat or watch any interview from any former professional wrestler and you’ll have a new found respect for professional wrestlers and what they do
Frfr they need to talk about they giving these guys percs and shots on a regular they can literally got to the team doctor and get a script for oxy or watever else and that’s serious stuff thoes are opids megatron talked about it in his Interview he was taking oxy before games and everything
Dirk Nowitzki also notoriously has severe mobility issues due to his knee problems in the league so this def a multisport issue but obviously diff sports have diff nuances for example contact sports are gonna give you way more injuries or if you're NBA tall (not likely in other sports) your body is gonna have issues period even if you don't play a sport purely off the strength of you being tall as hell and the mechanics required to get ya ass around lol but yeah shit all the way fucked up and all sports need to take much better care of their players cause even if you look at it from an evil sterile robot economic standpoint it still makes sense that the better you treat your "commodity" the better it performs lol idk what's so hard bout that for folk fr
the nfl has a lot of dirty secrets. cte, concussions, it varies on the position and how many years in the league but the life expectancy of an nfl player is 15 to 20 years shorter than the average.
As a 27 year old man who had dreams of going to the NFL as a kid/young adult, I knew all the risks of playing & would’ve gladly given up future health for an opportunity to play in the league. These players know the risk that comes with playing this sport. I’m glad they’re taking the precautions and changing the rules to help the players and make it more safe, but these guy ls don’t care and will gladly risk it for the biscuit lol
no money or fame is worth your health , i rather be able to play with my kids and grandkids than people who dont know me, praise me for a game. Life> money.
Love the podcast. This game is not worth it. They don’t get enough money to destroy their bodies like that. And they are really too young to make long term decisions about their health, in the heat of the moment
Quality of life? Whats the best quality for most of these young guys who have been on a pedestal since high school ? Make millions for a few years and deal with aches and pains and sometimes worse? Or graduate from high school and work construction for 30 years and have aches and pains and sometimes worse. I know they give up their bodies because I have problems after 1 year of college football. But I wouldn't trade it for nothing
@oneout it's probably some extremely stupid reason like he probably only cares about the black players and assumes all white people are racist.. or that the nfl is ran by white people who are don't care about black people..
Y'all ain't even mentioned the situation with Demar Hamlin just this past year. 24 yr old man who just suddenly collapsed on the football field for the buffalo bills. That could've been from those same injections and pills that Byron Jones was talking about. He can never play the game again.

If you asked a vet player if they would play football if they were young again. 99% would say yes the other 1% were already rich before football.
