Great video! Just changed my oil and while moving coolant tank to access filter housing the factory tee fitting broke, found your video and it's just what I needed, looks like it's a 3/4" by 1/2" tee, I'll pick up the tee, good hose clamps, new antifreeze this week and step by step repair with your video next weekend. I subscribed to you, looks like your the goto guy on the minis, thanks again! Edit on tee size, if you get a brass pex tee it is a 1" by 3/4" tee, fits like a glove!

The 3/4 was too big for the down hose that he took out in the video, and the 1/2 was too small idk

Did you have to clean it hella and take off the thermostat?

Thanks for posting this. My wife and I have a 2010 Clubman JCW and the 2012 Inspired by Goodwood Bespoke Edition.
Two Minis because we are gluttons for punishment.
If you're not made of money you're going to DIY some repairs.
    These videos make it possible.

It’s a common failure and can be a disaster for some just trying to change their oil or even an independent shop.

@@ifixmini3634 mine actually snapped on me in a walgreens parking lot. Thankfully it was at the front of my neighborhood so I just drove back to my house. I just got this car and I've never done work on coolant lines before so I was nervous but your video literally helped me every step of the way. Thanks for your service my dude

Great video, you should add the tools to your parts list. You didn’t use the OEM hose in your video. I guess that’s just for people who puncture the hose while they’re trying to complete this project.

Hmmm would brass be the smartest choice for this tho? Is there going to be brass corrosion or some other interaction between the engine metal and the coolant with the brass?

I tried the size y’all recommended but it didn’t fit, I put something smaller on and it leaked so now I am gonna take thermostat off and hopefully clean that line and fit the recommended 1x1x3/4 for the top, the top and side keep not fitting though

My Ts don’t fit correctly hoping I don’t hear a leak when I pour this coolant in

Is there any harm replacing the oil filter every two years, lol

On the R56 2007 to 2010, changing the oil every 4500-5k miles is a MUST. the timing chain will break. These engines burn lots of oil and if you don't change and replace the oil, it's a 2500-3200 repair.
