Finally! When you said I'm so tired but I just don't fall asleep my eyes teared up a bit because no one understands when I say that. I take a sleep med as well and it does make me very tired but it doesnt actually make me fall asleep. I have to kind of force it once I get tired enough. And it is never really actual sleep if that makes sense... just like half sleep. However without the meds I literally DO NOT sleep. People that don't have our health issues will never understand.
Same, I have been told it's all in my head and I'm just depressed.

I’ve also been so very tired but couldn’t sleep and its left me in tears wondering if I’ll ever be able to sleep ever again. I don’t know how you can explain to someone what its like to desperately want to sleep and not be able to actually fall asleep and that feeling of absolute exhaustion and yet your brain won’t shut down
I totally understand being so tired and all you want to do is fall asleep but it never happens and then if im having a bad pain day or night its even worse. I lay in bed most nights praying that i can just fall asleep for 30 or 45 minutes before i have to get up for the day and go to work or and doctor's appointment. So pmease dont ever feel alone. There are so many of us out there that lay awake everynight in pain and cant fall asleep.

Thank you for the update Amy. I certainly understand the no sleep thing because I deal with that too with other pain issues. It’s so frustrating and the more frustrated I get the harder it is to relax and fall asleep. I’m so happy that you and Tom did something fun. Amy! You are the strongest most beautiful lady ever. Tbh you are my most favorite youtuber not only because you are amazing, funny, and awesome but also because I relate to you so so much I have so much chronic illness myself. I have congenital hypothyroidism with a synthroid resistant thyroid that ended up almost ending my life and had to be removed to save my life, but SADLY the surgeon who took my thyroid out BOTCHED my surgery and cut and paralyzed my vocal chords leaving me unable to breathe or speak on my own and had to get a trache in my neck. I've now had almost 13 surgeries in order to get the trache out and rewire my vocal chords. I have a surgery every 5 years or less now to cut all the scar tissue out that grows in my airway leaving me on oxygen, cpap and on bed rest most of the time. I swear the older you get the worst your body scars and slows down healing so much. Chronic illness is my life and always will be and I dont have anyone to relate to anymore since I lost my best friend to cystic fibrosis. You honestly make me feel like I'm not so alone. Sorry for the long rambling storytelling I just wanted to say you inspire me and help me not feel so alone. You're my hero ♡♡♡♡ love always and also I hope Lilly's doing better!
I am glad your doctor is willing and helpful in collaborating with your medications, from pain management to sleep interruption, it is very important for you to work as a team.
I am not sure how I found your channel but super glad that I did!! Just turned 33 and I am currently going through radiation for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with bone metastases. Everything you have to endure makes me realize that I am lucky even with my diagnosis. You will be in my thoughts!! And I believe pain insomnia is real !!!

From one non-sleeper/chronic pain sufferer to another, my heart goes out to you Amy. I'm currently dealing with finding a sleeping pill that'll keep me asleep , not just put me to sleep. Here's to hoping that they find something that works for you😊❤.

I went for the first time by myself a few months ago! I hate the dentist and when I mention it to the staff they love to point out that I have tattoos and piercings. Like, that’s different! It’s not even pain, I can handle going to the doctor, just not the dentist 😭

Fibro squad🙌💜. Diagnosed 6 years ago. Currently on my 3rd sleeping med. The struggle to stay asleep is real. I'm sorry you're going through this. Not sleeping definetly does not help the situation. Suffering with pain 24/7 and having zero energy to even deal, can make just about anyone crazy.

Iv been watching your vlogs for a little while. My 11 yr old daughter and I have just been DX with EDS. We both have other issues, Celiac, my daughter Colitis, and myself Chronic Asthma And scoliosis. We are soon to see a surgeon as there is suspected spinal instability etc for my daughter and they say also for myself..
What we deal with is so small compared to what you do!! You, and a friend of mine who also has EDS amongst a lot of other serious health issues, she almost died of Chiari but the same surgiram we are going to see saved her life! You both inspire beyond words and help me remember how blessed we are every day to have the health we do have and independence and ability that we do have! Your lives put things in perspective!! You are amazing Amy!! I hope I can show even a small percentage of the strength you do!

I have fibromyalgia and I'm constantly exhausted. Last night i dozed for 4 hours, just half asleep, and now i have to get up and go out for 2 hours of physio! I also find i can sleep easier during the day, like naps, which is what im gonna do when i get back! So sorry to hear about Lily, knowing her though she will power through this! Sending you all positive thoughts and hope you can catch up on some decent sleep 💕
I completely understand the not sleeping. I have had about 3 hours of sleep today. So annoying to not sleep. I try calming, sleepy tea. I have been watching ASMR videos to try to sleep. Its is awful. I am saying prayers and sending healing vibes to you sweet puppy. I really hope she is alright. Take care of yourself.
I love being able to listen to someone who deals with pain and no sleep.. I have spina bifida and thethered cord which causes constant pain nd spasms and everything the trying isn't working om totally drained
I have arthrogryposis which is a condition causing joint contractors in all my joints if been disabled from birth and I'm always in pain my Dr keeps dropping the dose of my opioid meds this opiate crisis is why most chronic pain patients are comiting suicide which is so messed up it's not fair to people with chronic illness and disabilities it seems their more liberal with the meds in the uk
@@kassandraahuero7962 yer had it from birth as well but they found out my cord had thethered to later hence why I can no longer walk now.. I'm from the UK and my dr is very strict on what he will give me because of addiction and I'm at breaking point

Pregabalin is Lyrica..... we use that in the US for neuropathy. Doesn’t make me sleepy at all. Weird choice for sleeping med. I take ambien for sleep. Works like a dream . I’m a pain patient as well. I have severe AS and chronic pancreatitis. Had a jtube for couple years but I took it out. Gaining weight back now and on biologics and pain killers. Costs me 250 a month to stay out of pain. It’s disgusting. But I’m crippled and disfigured. I need the meds. Heroin junkies have ruined things for pain patients. Best of luck to you.

For the pain,try floatation therapy in a sensory deprivation pod.Ive seen some people on RUclips with EDS and they said it helped a bit.Stay strong lovely❤

I feel for you because I have severe insomnia. I do have medication that works. But I don’t deal with everything else you do. You are amazing 💪

I have been going to the pain clinic for 17 years now and know what your going through with the pain meds. It took me a year and half to get off the 2 pain meds I was on because my family doctor had me on so many meds and kepting upping them. I have been on methadone for pain for 4 years and just starting to taper off of them because they are not working anymore. But they were the best for the first 3 years. They helped with the depress and anxiety also. So I didn't have to be on any meds for that. I just had a spinal cord stimulator put in 2 weeks ago so hoping I get some relief with that. My problems aren't near to what your going through but I do understand the pain part.

I get insomnia related to my thyroid disease..I find eating something sweet before bed helps my brain slip into the dream world and I stay asleep beyond my usual 12:30 am reawakening
I have had the same situation with my blood sugars being low while I am sleeping and it actually wakes me up. Weird but I am sure glad that it does!!

Agreed girl! Hate dental work. My dentist is actually amazing he is very understanding with my anxiety and feelings going through losing a large portion of my own teeth replacing them with denture on top and partial on bottom and was very sweet with how he was while doing the work and not like acting like I shouldn't be upset. I didn't like bawl but when he told me he couldn't save the top teeth due to the lack of care given at my prior dentist office a couple tears rolled down my cheek because at 35 I was not ready to face wearing a full denture on top and he just put his hand on my shoulder and was super nice. He told me that he understood how I was feeling but that I wouldn't be in so much pain and constantly fighting infection and reminded me that being i'de been on antibiotics for about 3 months at that point due to my teeth that it was further wreaking havoc with my already fd up immune system (2 auto immune diseases) and I knew he was right but losing my teeth because of the constant reflux and the 6 months of constant vomiting while pregnant plus random vomiting when my reflux got super bad my teeth were just making me sicker. It was still hard and hate hate hate needles! Oof

I’m a horrible sleeper, I’m going on 6th week in hospital and headed into open heart surgery for infected port and have thrown two PEs My left lung is 100% blocked and my right long is only working at 30%. Piece of my port broke off and lodged into my left pulmonary artery w a clot . It’s awful Hang in there !

Tomorrow we will be celebrating Thanksgiving which is pretty much a North American holiday. The Canadians celebrate it on a different date and for a completely different reason. In Mexico they call it La Acion De Gracia which translates to the Action of giving Thanks. It may be a non-event for you but just know that while we're celebrating someone is sending out cheers to you.

Sorry you are having a rough time! I am on over 509mg if pregablin, morphine, slow release and quick release etc etc and I still have issues sleeping. Diazepam or temazepam doesn’t seem to work for me either except the next day it makes me feel like crap lol so I defo feel your pain. But you look so so pretty one your way to the game. Your eyes are so pretty. Don’t give up hope on the sleep. Something is bound to work x
Edit: I had to go off the pain patches because it started to burn my skin and was so itchy so switched to tablets only. It’s a pain. You aren’t getting it easy!

Pain keeps me up many nights but there are many nights I just can’t sleep. Chronic Pain is not easy to get through. I can’t drive myself to the dentist I hate it so much.
I had a appointment the 23 with my doctor pain clinic. I recently got a pain pump and I will be able to get medicine this week
I live with chronic pain and I haven’t been able to walk for several years now.

Pregabalin is good. I take 300mg twice daily with panadol and tramadol for my neurological disorder and chronic pain. Once you are put on a higher dose it should help :) Amy from NZ

I was on the same pain patch and it burned my skin too. It was so frustrating because they worked so well but I had bleeding blisters everywhere that I had placed a patch, and it took them forever to heal.
It is a vicious cycle when you have pain and insomnia and nothing is breaking the cycle you’re so tired but yet you can’t sleep or when you’re sleeping you’re not resting many people do not understand this I have multiple spine issues and fibromyalgia and many people do not understand it but my spine is literally just crumbling apart and the pain it causes is atrocious. Many hugs

I’m an insomniac. I take one prescription until it stops working and get prescribed a new one. It’s a forever struggle. Sleeping struggles are quite horrible. I hope you got it sorted

1:41min there are TONS of types of insomnia i have Hypersomnia disorder( which refers to either excessive daytime sleepiness or excessive time spent sleeping) i looked it up on a sleep disorder website you have chronic pain Insomnia disorder

My doctor is sending me to the pain clinic this wee because I suffer from chronic migraines I've had for 35 years now and my neuroligist says I'm going to be living with them for the rest of my life, I'm in pain everyday

Being a diabetic, I'm fully aware of the "Puke" aspect of Glucagon (glue-kah-gone)...and the not being able to think straight during a "hypo"...but I'm grateful now that I've found the nasal powdered spray version (no mixing and injection needed) called Baqsimi. Maybe you can get your hands on it to help you out a bit.

Hey Amy, I have Hypermobile EDS and I really struggled with sleep and still do. In addition to my medication I have started using a weighted blanket, I don't know if you've tried one before. I use the heaviest one available, 25lbs. (10 pounds heavier than the recommended size for my weight) It works great for restricting my movement during the night and keeping me from hurting myself by tossing around. Maybe give it a try if you haven't before!

hey, about pregabalin. i take it as well for like a half year. i take it in the morning 150mg to calm me down for the day. it does not make me sleepy at all. i even used to take 600mg.. did not rly have an effect on me :/.
have you ever heard of seroquel? i take it for sleep. 150mg and it makes me so so so sleepy. its for falling asleep and sleeping through. i would definitely recommend it to you. also i take dominal forte.. its for sleeping through the night. i have massive sleep troubles and it helps me

praying for lilli I have a dog and she is a Labrador and she knows when im ill she can tell when im porly bless her we found a lump on her back and it turnd outto be a cist but we have to keep a eye on on itif it gets any bigger to bring her to the vets if I lost her I would not know what to do thay become apart of the family she is around 10 yrs old praying for her hunni and try and get some rest yourself im ill I have severe lung dammidge I was in intesnsive care on a venterlater I was in a coma it was scary I had severe prenumonia and sepsis thay diddent think I was going to pull thew so u getas well as you can

You were talking about waking up and having symptoms of low blood sugar ! I have Late stage COPD and when I go to sleep I have to where a bypap machine because I'm on strong pain meds, and when I sleep I don't breath right and the symptoms of that is the same I get jittery all over and my v9ision is wack
