My 2017 Yukon 5.3 is making a clicking noise constantly from this valve. Is it supposed to function this way or is it supposed to be a once in a while clicking.?
Good video my friend:) You may want to look up online and see what it says about using petroleum jelly/Vaseline on O-rings. From what I’ve read it will ruin them faster. Still a great video though!
I’ve been having this problem, I keep shutting the engine code off, then it’ll come back on. It’s sometimes trigger from over fueling as well, spilling fuel on your fuel spout. I think not having a gas cap was a poor design in my opinion.
@@averygentry35 The Chevy and GMC trucks have a spring loaded flap that acts as a gas cap. When you fuel, you just push the flap in with the fuel nozzle.
Great video. I recently got the code P0455 on my 2014 Sierra. I started with the replacing the gas cap because I would get the message on my cluster to “tighten gas cap”. I replaced the cap and the message came right back on with the code also. Do you think replacing this part will fix it? People have also told me to replace the canister solenoid. The one under the truck by the gas tank.
Both are right on placement but one under hood for mine fixed it now u can replace the one by tank but mostly people say when u fuel up takes forever cause that one by tank is bad fuel won't go in tank fast that's a way I learned by the tank is bad
Gerardo Reveles The only thing I have done since I got the code was replace the fuel cap and erased the code. I sometimes still get the “tighten gas cap” message on my dash but the check engine light or the code hasn’t come back on since then so as long the codes gone I don’t care about that message because I know the caps new.
@@shaunsmith1157 mine threw the dreaded P0449, vent valve solenoid malfunction. Got the GM replacement parts. I'm going to install both the purge and vent solenoid today. Hope it clears up this issue code. Thanks for the info on the video.
What is the wire called that leads to the canister purge valve? There’s a ticking coming from that wire which you can feel it jerking too and I already replaced the canister purge valve and it didn’t fix anything

Not having a gas cap? What you mean?

Thats only on the newer GM trucks not the 14-18 models
Did this also throw off your mass air sensor and cause your motor to run lean?
No not at all
Im having this problem did you ever figure it out ?
Man do I miss points, 4 barrel carbs, and distributor engines. Damn EPA forced so much restriction -BS on todays engines I don't know how they breathe

Yes I had to pull the negative battery cable for 10 mins light went out and still never came back on my mileage has improved to 6 mpg
