This turned out so well-- the colors are very comforting and the dress pattern you created works well with it. I bet that would look fantastic under your blue or red grandad vest, or a sharp blazer.
I love the dress. Your pinterest dress made me think of the liberation skirts after the second ww in the Netherlands. The women made beautiful skirts of scraps because there were so little materials. A lot of these skirts hang in museums. Love them.❤️
Yes they’re beautiful aren’t they ….. the dress on my Pinterest is in the V&A museum in London …. I love looking at vintage clothes and how they were made xxx
I have some brushed cotton coming this week, and I’ve been searching for just the right dress pattern for the fabrics. After so much humming and hawing (I’ve toiled the Indigo dress, studied the Romey raglan dress, and thought about getting the Hope dress pattern), I think I‘d love the Ava blouse (which I’ve made a few of now), made into a dress (maybe the Fleur pinafore tiers or some variation of them). This gives me the inspiration/confidence that I think I’ll go for it, and it’ll be perfect! Fingers crossed😊
I'm so happy to have found your video. I've been collecting fabrics (Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements & Moda Grunge) to make myself a patchwork dress. My intention is to create a piece of patchwork fabric then cut my pattern pieces from it (as you did). I haven't got an overlocker but after seeing this video, I think I will have to invest in one! Anyway Jayne your dress is glorious and the colours suit you so well. Thanks for sharing. X
Wow!! Great minds think alike...I love, love, love Patchwork and your dress. Saw a Patchwork dress tutorial on YTube a while ago and loved it. With my sewjo so low I thought to start cutting my pieces to make a dress. Looking forward to the pastel dress. Many thanks for sharing. x Blessings x Mariana UK xx

Hello Jayne Dress looks amazing I am looking forward to seeing the pastel ditsy prints for spring I like the length Maybe would it be to much work to make the square's on the next one 3 or 4 inches It's lovely but iwould be interested to see how smaller square's look with the ditsy prints I have seen fabric that looks like patchwork and that's what I would use lol it's a little more work making your own patchwork As always great ideas and inspiration for a spring dress You look so good with your hair a little shorter and curls and volume Lovely You are always very excited about your makes it's so good to see You absolutely love what you are doing Thank you Take care and happy sewing 🧵 🪡 ❤️
This is such a fabulous dress I love it and you look amazing in it. I made a patchwork dress last summer from 5 mens shirts that I bought in a charity shop, although I didn’t patchwork the bodice. I think I will give full on patchwork a try. Thanks for the video ☺️
We are thinking along the same lines. I made a patchwork fabric but with florals and I made them 5” and I sewed them all up into a quilt. I absolutely love it. I had thought how cute would it be for a poppy pinafore. I think I’m going to try it. I love yours and I think you are going get a lot of wear from it.
You have captivated me! I love this dress. love to know about the bottom, did you hack the Ava pattern with a bottom from another pattern? I am not so good at hacks!
I absolutely love this dress. You are a very talented lady. Keep making the videos
Thank you so much!

Great idea, lovely colours, although on the large side, don‘t you think. Why do you wear jeans underneath?
