    Hey Eric,
In the words of Fr. Stephen Freeman-a devout Orthodox priest who I find exudes both the truth and sweetness of Jesus-says, “I do not know a God of genocide.” His reasoning for saying this is in response to modernity’s radical historicization of Scripture, which he claims is not the way of the Alexandrian Fathers which much of his tradition gleans from. Yet I find he is far from resembling a Marcionite in any way, shape or form. A true Marcionite throws out the entire Old Testament altogether, rather than seeing it as a progressive revelation of God unfolding to Christ in the New Testament.
I bring this up because you seem to be suggesting that anyone who doesn’t interpret the Old Testament word-for-word at face value is, at the very least, a semi-Marcionite. But I don’t think that’s a fair assessment.
Other than that, thanks for sharing this video, Eric! I appreciate your perspective🙏

      Hello Mattis,
Thank you for your kind and respectful comments. May I continue in that graceful, direct tone.
We may also find many Orthodox not taking a neo-Origenist positions as well. Consider biblical scholar and Orthodox priest Fr. Stephen De Young presents a similar view regarding violence in the OT as I present in the above video. Posted below is a link to an interview with him, specifically regarding his book "God is a Man of War."
Thank you again for the respectful and hopeful discussion; if you would like to continue it further, I can be reached through my website listed at the end of my video clip. Agape and Shalom in Jesus the Messiah

@@EricWilding just to briefly point out, Origen wasn’t the only Alexandrian father
