Lindsay, I have both the chalk sets you used and I'm thankful for your inspiration; very pretty and chalk is the perfect medium to color with, such a soft look!
I love this! Perfect way to add the finishing touches to a focal image, and use already owned supplies. I have both sets of chalks you used, and I like the stacking ones as well.
This is fantastic, thanks for sharing. I have many chalks, seldom use, so disappointing. I did not know how to use them. Eager to try this technique. Thanks again!
Cute! Cute! Cute! I love your videos and I have, (still) those chalks in the round container from years ago. Thanks for reminding me. What a fun, simple card! It would take a minute to get these materials and start creating!
gorgeous! I just found a box of these exact chalks at a flea market yesterday for $3, and was looking for a tutorial; now I can't wait to use them! This is beautiful!
Love what you've done! I just getting into mixed media and have 2 sets of the chalks but wasn't sure what to do with them, now I know. I also love the tip about using glycerin to stamp; thank you so much.
I am an illustrator and I often use eye shadows I don`t use anymore, or friends give to me. Eye shadows can be quite pretty, because of the pearl content. Thank you Lindsay, I love your presentations.
I really liked that background. It turned out really great. I am going to try it with my own chalks. That Pom Pom idea works pretty good. I might have to get some
Hi Lindsay, I am definitely hooked. you have taken your fabulous Flower Fairy creation to a whole new level with this background, stunning !! stunning !! stunning !! Lots of love from Patricia xx
Lovely image Lindsay you continue to amaze me with your techniques and imagery. She was just breathtaking! Thank You for the lesson. Have a great day, L~
looks great ..I use eye makeup (powdered of course) with the clear ink for a similar effect some of the modern colors are awesome love your videos so inspirational
Great job-thank you for always sharing tips and techniques-I always enjoy your "real time" videos- and look forward to more :). Keep up the positive energy and awesome crafting! :) Katherine
how long does the clear ink (or glycerin) stay workable? I do love the applicator with the pompoms, I am going to have to figure out a way to make something similar and see if it works for using the chalks on polymer clay. Thanks so much!
I saw the chalks in a stack like yours from EK at hobby lobby or michaels a year ago :) I used to have one, using an old Inkadinkado one now. Try adding rubbing alcohol to the chalk. It is how we fix broken powder cosmetics. You add it, smooth, and let dry/evaporate.
Lindsay, goddess of all things crafty, Derwent do a grater pot for the inktense blocks, if people were to grate down their cheep sticks of chalk using this and store either in tiny plastic pots (they come in the uk as a pack of 12 in a clar plastic case and are similar but slightly smaller than the h2o pots) or even into a covered pallet, and then use craft pompoms on a crocclip tool (its used for holding items when embossing so you, as you would say... dont burn your hands off). Would they get the same effect as you would with panpastels? And second question can you combine chalk wigb a micca powder to get a glistening glittery effect.?
I really love your fairy image and the chalks. I use chalks occasionally too but I was wondering if you apply any sealer to this so it doesn't rub off on the envelope, etc.?
Beautiful tutorial. How long dies it take to allow the clear stamp to dry ? Also, what to use as a fixative ? In my few attempts to use pan pastels for background coloring; love the color depth & intensity, however the color powder moves around...for example, when you pick up the card, the color comes off on your fingers ?
+BarbaraMerry Geng the pastel sticks the the wet ink, it r=dries when the pastel hits it and the rest is rubbed into the paper so it does not smudge. A ticker application of pastel would need fixatif like hairspray (aresol) or Krylon fixative
I love to wake up and watch your crafting video with coffee because they are so creative and it helps get me in the art flow! The variety ideas and techniques are exactly what I need. Thank you Lindsay, you are inspiring. Frances
OMGoodness that is a wonderful technique and using chalks it doesn't need to pe perfection (although yours looks it to me). I don't have any chalks, so think I need to get some ;) Then again, I may have a go with my pastel pencils.......
What is the name of those chalks? I have not seen them at the Dick Blick stores here in Chicago? I was wondering if this is more of a "crafts" thing where I might find them at a Michael's store?
thefrugalcrafter . Thanks for checking for me. Of course, I always see the artist grade Pro pastels, (I love Schminke's they're so buttery soft) and I have seen how expensive the pan pastels are! These seem so wonderful with what you have done, and for the money, are not bad to "try out". Thanks for introducing (some-like ME!) to them. I deal with more fine arts stuff, and don't do "crafts" as often as I used to. So it's nice to investigate what is in "the other stores" or "other aisles"! ;-)
Deirdre Powers coat them with glycerin (or clear embossing ink) and let sit overnight. In the morning wash with simple green and a toothbrush, the stains should come off but even if they do not the stamp will be clean and conditioned and ready to use:)
What is the name of the Glue which you applied to the back of the rubber stamp? I have the same problem with rubber stamps that are not mounted which I want to use with a clear acrylic block. Thanks! I love all your videos by the way :)
Deborah Anne, Lindsay mentioned as she was doing it, if she thought her ink or glycerin were still wet, she would dab in order to prevent smearing the image.
I only subbed the other day and you have taught me so much I have a clear stamp that is so old but I have glycerine so now I know how to re new it , and I have dove craft chalks I only ever use on embossed areas , now i know how else to use it thank you , :o)
Beautiful card! Are you using a makeup sponge to spread the Chalklets? I can only find the Pebble Chalks, can I use a makeup sponge and use those the same way as the Chalkets? Thank you
Lindsay, I have both the chalk sets you used and I'm thankful for your inspiration; very pretty and chalk is the perfect medium to color with, such a soft look!
I love this! Perfect way to add the finishing touches to a focal image, and use already owned supplies. I have both sets of chalks you used, and I like the stacking ones as well.
Such a difference that additional stamping made. It's so pretty.
This is fantastic, thanks for sharing. I have many chalks, seldom use, so disappointing. I did not know how to use them. Eager to try this technique. Thanks again!

This technique is drop-dead brilliant! I have that set and can hardly wait to play with it. Thanks
Cecilia Sawyer thanks!
gorgeous! I just found a box of these exact chalks at a flea market yesterday for $3, and was looking for a tutorial; now I can't wait to use them! This is beautiful!
ScrappyStephy sweet deal! Have fun!
I haven't used my chalks in years. I love this idea of applying the chalk to a background...very cool!😉
Thank you! Cheers!
WOW !!!! You are so talented ... so much fun to watch you !
Thank you Lindsay! I forgot about my chalks and love your creative ideas!!!! This is gorgeousness ♥
Love what you've done! I just getting into mixed media and have 2 sets of the chalks but wasn't sure what to do with them, now I know. I also love the tip about using glycerin to stamp; thank you so much.

What a great idea! I'll have to remember this!
Good idea!!! I like the way the whole thing turned out. Thank you
I really liked that background. It turned out really great. I am going to try it with my own chalks. That Pom Pom idea works pretty good. I might have to get some
I have this stamp set, too! I love it! I'll have to try this technique.
Nice technique and another way to use up some of my large supply of chalk!
Hi Lindsay, I am definitely hooked. you have taken your fabulous Flower Fairy creation to a whole new level with this background, stunning !! stunning !! stunning !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx
GORGEOUS!!! Chalk on a pom pom, 2 bits! I don't know why! LOL! Thank you luv! ♥
Wonderful! I forgot I've got those pastels and those darling little pom poms. Getting them out. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love this thank you so much for sharing. I have to try this
Lovely image Lindsay you continue to amaze me with your techniques and imagery. She was just breathtaking! Thank You for the lesson. Have a great day, L~
Thanx !!!! Brilliant idea ! Yours looks beautiful !!!!!
Just bought some Joy chalks, EK has to get the Chalklets back on the market, you're right !!!
What a fab technique! Thanks Lindsay.
Is that the clear like you use for embossing?
yes:)
awesome thanks!! I am gonna have to get my chalks out more often!!
looks great ..I use eye makeup (powdered of course) with the clear ink for a similar effect some of the modern colors are awesome love your videos so inspirational
Thank you so much. What a great technique. As always I love your videos.

Love it!!💐💐💐
Lindsay I loved this and have the chalks, any answer on the stamps????I would certainly add my vote for them to come back.
not that I have heard, hopefully another company wll licence the images. I'm glad I bought them when I did!
Can you use a versamark embossing ink pad to stamp for chalking? Thank you
Thank you, I always learn something new from ur video
Love this technique! Tfs - Gladys
How do the chalks stay on the card do you spray them with something? Wonderful video thank you!!
you can blast them with hairspray but I dont and they stay fine:)
I really love your fairy image and the chalks. I use chalks occasionally too but I was wondering if you apply any sealer to this so it doesn't rub off on the envelope, etc.?
the ink acts as a sealer, you do not need to spray it:)

+Frances B thank you!
Beautiful job. What did you use to make the unmounted stamps sticky to make them cling to the package? Thanks
Aleene's tack it over & over glue
Really cool technique 👌
That's just awesome!!!!!!!
Can you heat emboss as well with the glycerin?
OMGoodness that is a wonderful technique and using chalks it doesn't need to pe perfection (although yours looks it to me). I don't have any chalks, so think I need to get some ;)
Then again, I may have a go with my pastel pencils.......
Should a fixative be sprayed over the chalk?
This is lovely, Lindsay. If you were going to make this into a card, would you seal it? If so, what would you use? Thank you.
thats really cool, i really need to get some stamps and not chalk soon
Quick question: The glycerine must be freshly applied to the paper, correct? Waiting until it dries is too late, I presume.
angelhelp yes, you want it to be damp, it will stay that way for a long time so there is no rush really:)
Does the fairy have the face features--or do you use another stamp for the facial image--thanks
yes, it has a face
Lovely!
im sorry if this sounds stupid as i am new to this craft but could u use eye shadow for the chalking as i have loads of it
+Susan Burns yes you can (it is very similar!)
What is the name of those chalks? I have not seen them at the Dick Blick stores here in Chicago? I was wondering if this is more of a "crafts" thing where I might find them at a Michael's store?
it is a crafty/scrapbook item but regular pastels (artists soft pastels, AKA the chalky kind) work beautifully too:) These ones are by Pebbles.
I just checked, they are on sale at Custom Crops: www.customcrops.com/product_info.php?&manufacturers_id=&products_id=10020668
thefrugalcrafter . Thanks for checking for me. Of course, I always see the artist grade Pro pastels, (I love Schminke's they're so buttery soft) and I have seen how expensive the pan pastels are! Lindsay, I have bought quite a few used stamps with the rubber stamp pretty stained up with old ink. Is there any way I can clean these up a bit?
Deirdre Powers coat them with glycerin (or clear embossing ink) and let sit overnight. In the morning wash with simple green and a toothbrush, the stains should come off but even if they do not the stamp will be clean and conditioned and ready to use:)
+thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I can't seem to find the Simple Green in amounts that look like a full gallon! Any sites sell small bottles?
Hi Where did you get your chalk set from thanks
oh, it was years ago...www.customcrops.com/product_info.php?&manufacturers_id=&products_id=10020668 these are the ones I have and they are on sale!
what kind of glycerin did you use to stamp the card?
Norma Perez vegetable
I know you made this video 7 years ago but I'm just now starting out with pebbles chalks. Question. Where did you buy the extra pom poms?
Joanns
What is the name of the Glue which you applied to the back of the rubber stamp? I have the same problem with rubber stamps that are not mounted which I want to use with a clear acrylic block. Thanks! I love all your videos by the way :)
aleens tack it over and over
Why did you dab the butterfly and not the other images? Thank you
probably because I just wanted to color that one spot a certain color
Deborah Anne, Lindsay mentioned as she was doing it, if she thought her ink or glycerin were still wet, she would dab in order to prevent smearing the image.
I only subbed the other day and you have taught me so much I have a clear stamp that is so old but I have glycerine so now I know how to re new it , and I have dove craft chalks I only ever use on embossed areas , now i know how else to use it thank you , :o)
irish magic for the fairy's
What did you put on the back of the stamp to make it stick? I couldn't quite catch what you said. Aliens Tag? LOL
jocelynandjosh Aleene's tack it over and over glue
I am now going to have to get my chalks out from hiding and have some fun--Thanks...
Will the Chalk come off?
not if you have the ink on the paper and rub it in like i did, it locked in the color and wipes away the excess:)
Cool demo. TFS
In the UK, there are lots of sets available here - www.thecraftbarn.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=pebbles+chalk+set
Beautiful card! Are you using a makeup sponge to spread the Chalklets? I can only find the Pebble Chalks, can I use a makeup sponge and use those the same way as the Chalkets? Thank you
yes, pom poms or makeup sponges will work
Doesnt this stuff smear?
Amber Thomasson the clear ink locks in in place. Also when you rub it into the paper there is not enough extra to really smudge.
OK,Makes me less hesitant to try it! And TY for the great videos!
where can I buy the glycerin to spruce up my embossing pads, etc? thanks
+ALANA LENDVAY a pharmacy or health food store
THANKS SWEETS...WILL DO.
Your Magic Lindsay xXx
hello can you please speak slowly????
