For pokemon cards, I personally do, sleeve, then toploader and just seal them in a "team bag" for waterproofing. Usually not much damage will get done to them when sending via letter post!
Out here in chicago i had to change from thrifting to buying abandoned storage units for the same reason . A few weeks ago i found Princess Peach the same size as your mario in the garbage 😅 she sells for around 80
As a photographer, selling cameras & lenses untested makes me nervous. Used lenses often have mould / lens fungus inside them that can ruin the whole lens and make it unusable. But I guess that's the buyer's issue if they choose to buy it untested, really.
I can attest to this, I was looking at a camera and lenses in an op shop. Priced quite high, but still would have been a reasonable deal. after doing all the research I looked closing at the lense and saw the mould inside the front of the lens. I let the manager know about this. But they never did drop the price and it went so I hope the buyer either realised or negotiated a better price.
Hi Matt, I started reselling about 16months ago after watching you for a while. I decided to try do only video games and video games consoles out of the love of video games. I'm doing pretty well, with consistent listings etc. I'm just wondering if you have any tips when it comes to video games. I rarely see you mention stuff like whats the top price you'll post games in domestic envelopes and stuff like what to avoid when it comes to the video game genre. These were a couple things I was curious of when I first started, eventually I figured it out but I could imagine many beginners are in the same boat when it comes to video games.
I know that exact feeling. You have had great momentum through a period of the month and hoping it keeps going to hit that new high and things just go flat. But I will be watching for the video on 1 December, where you have smashed through to the next level.
I just finished my taxes for last year... the time and effort I put into Ebay was not worth it. The one who benefitted the most was Australia Post. I will continue for the Christmas period but for 2025 I will be more discerning and strategic.
For your pokemon cards dont use australia post padded mailers just use the same size plain mailers that are so much cheaper than aust post mailers. Anything under 500g can still use plain mailer with small satchel sticker on it- no need to weigh and measure.
I always do promoted listing for my items to try sell them quicker, but ebay takes a good chunk of the money when they get seller fees as well, item sold for $275 eBay got $37 transaction fee & promoted ad fee $37=$74,seems a little steep to me,sucks any profit out for me,what's your opinion about the fees??
32:49 Update: I've now saw which part of the video you make a monthly net profit which is at $5,850 (45% of $13000) at the high end, which you've previously said that you earn $130k a year in revenue, so it would be $58500 a year. But how many hours a week do you do a week into your eBay business?
Hi Matt - as an eBay seller myself, I really enjoy watching your videos as there is always something to learn from them. I’d like to ask - why you focus on monthly Sales progress over profit margin? From my experience, monthly sales figures is something I never look at, I only ever monitor profit. Looking forward to your response, thanks.
smart move and I do too hence the justification of mentioning most profitable month for us in this video. I just like to correlate revenue in videos as it's easily comparable for a viewer and their own business.
I really love your channel - such great information. Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Melbourne and an aspirational full time ebayer! BTW try thrifting for profit down here - virtually impossible.
Mate, I'm not really into reselling myself, but I find it fascinating how you turn something as ordinary as a DVD box set into a way to make income. I watch reguarly, also when needing a boost of motivation for cleaning the house or getting some exercise. Cheers.
Hi Matt, I've scored a massive 20k lot of dvds from a garage sale. I'm hyped and also a bit overwhelmed, but the deal was too good to let slide. Would you keep on thrifting or list them all first, which will take months.
good time for selling, not the best time for sourcing... would be good to have a death pile to schedule listings over the month to keep the impressions ticking over
What about a bulk deal for all the Pokémon? May as well sell it and get the consignment rather than just hand them back. I’m sure altogether they’re worth at least $150
If I sell a cheap item and post without tracking does ebay release the money straight away or do they wait for delivery confirmation from the buyer? I'm selling items under 15 dollars and loosing so much on postage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@Teresa - How long ago you listed the 26 items? What type os items do you sell? The 2 to 3 % promotion works for me. Do you research the sell through rate and price before listing? Also, do you have a history of buying in eBay? Those factors made a difference for me. May you have sales soon so you may stay motivated..Blessings!
Sorry to say this but if you have eney interest when it comes to eBay you can count on it your going to get ripped off why's that IV had 4 order's with E bay I didn't receive my goods and lost all my money on all 4 of those orders why they had sold all to other people now Iam looking else where for me to redo my orders again and with out loosing money
eBay Australia should step up their game and offer free shipping supplies to sellers like they do in the US
Amen!
U talking about priority shipping boxes from usps? Anything else free? I’m in California lol thank you

November’s the best month of the year 🚀
i sold a green yoshi that size (with tags) for $200 - I found at the thrift for $10! Great pick up Matt!
That’s so cool to hear - well done!
I've just had my best month ever also in October 2024. Hopefully November is even better :)
going ALL in every day :) plus first comment LOL
Great video mate!
Hey I made a video for you and sent it to your email and Instagram mate, let me know If you received it 👀
I just finished my taxes for last year... the time and effort I put into Ebay was not worth it. The one who benefitted the most was Australia Post. I will continue for the Christmas period but for 2025 I will be more discerning and strategic.
Lessons learnt it seems!
@ indeed 🤦♀️
Your right courier delivery cost to much, add ebay fees & there's no profit left, its hard to compete
For your pokemon cards dont use australia post padded mailers just use the same size plain mailers that are so much cheaper than aust post mailers. Anything under 500g can still use plain mailer with small satchel sticker on it- no need to weigh and measure.
Don't forget to look under the plastic in the game box too. People just throw everything in the bottom and cover it up.
Great video Matt! Have you listed the Daria dvds yet? I'd love to buy them for my daughter for Christmas :)
Shoot me a message on instagram :)

Promoted % seems a little high. 3% promoted gets me 68% of my total sales volume. You don’t need to go high
Record month & no employee costs - well done! 🎉😊
Thanks so much!

maybe 30
This is equal to my goal of replacing my ta income

Would you keep on thrifting or list them all first, which will take months.
List first well done!
@TheAussieFlipper thank you, mate! The op shops will be missing me for a while ;)
Cool Mario score!
Epic hay!
Would you ever send anything out that is not tracked?
Which software would you recommend for operating/managing an Ebay store? Cheers
Excel
Do you work out an average on how much time you spend on each consignment? From the listing, prep, pack and send the product on $/per hour metric?
Small card so probably not too much on handling!
i dont - rather just work on what I will make after the split which means $50+ items are usually all I'll accept.
If you sell singing tracking envelopes do you put standard mail when choosing postage options rather than eBay labels
Yep
good time for selling, not the best time for sourcing... would be good to have a death pile to schedule listings over the month to keep the impressions ticking over
Scheduled listings** death piles never get listed
Damn mate you got fencing up over your windows. Is it that bad over there? I used to live an area where you had to have this extra precaution
lol that's my backyard
I love your dog. What's his name?
Perry!
@TheAussieFlipper Funny how in most RUclips videos they always end up on the screen. Trying to get their 15 mins of fame. More like more smackoos!
I havent heard you talk about insurance for ebay sellers. Is it necessary to have it in order to sell for profit on ebay in australia?
Pack my Pokemon cards very different to you mate. Both very effective though, keep up the great work!
What about a bulk deal for all the Pokémon? May as well sell it and get the consignment rather than just hand them back. I’m sure altogether they’re worth at least $150
to list everything individually to add up to $150 worth of value isn't worth my time
@ 10 photos and a $99 auction would probably sell it. But yea, may not be worth your time
@ bigger fish to fry
I’ve been thinking about offering consignment services. Do you have a contract that you have your consigners sign?
Nope! We agree and then just run the play
How can an opshop put a board game up for sale for $4 and have nothing in it
Wild

Very inspiring and informative video. You're awesome 😎
Thanks for watching
I don’t ever pick up games and rarely get DVD’s but since watching your Aussie ass you got me t!nking! 😅🤜🏼
You know what to do!
@ yeah I know but I genuinely like watching ya shenanigans geezer. It’s a catch 22! 🤔
Split of net profit
Hi matt do you clean your dvds or sell as is
Sell as is
Did you know that if you buy 5x 10 packs of those envelopes you get a further discount. It’s not huge but it all adds up
Yep true
I need that Saguaro card for my Master Set haha. Might stalk your ebay later
You know what to do!
Awesome great month. How's Courtney doing? ❤😊
All is well!
Couldn’t you use a layer of bubble wrap, rather than cutting a padded satchel for the Pokemon card?
Absolutely
If I sell a cheap item and post without tracking does ebay release the money straight away or do they wait for delivery confirmation from the buyer? I'm selling items under 15 dollars and loosing so much on postage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Stop selling cheap items
The three the title the photos and the price.i need to improve mine😢

@soniaperez2417 I have had 2 sales so far.i need to improve my photos:) thank you for your kind response I appreciate it
LABOR GO M.A.G.A
Do you promote all your items on EBay? How much do you charge for international postage?
Promoting is the best way, promote with 2% and you should be set
What is your eBay name? I might need your Pokemon cards 😮
House of mamba
Do you sell on fb marketplace too?
Damn missed members give away
I’ll keep you in the draw
@TheAussieFlipper awww thanks. This was anawsome video.

Sounds more like a you problem than an "eney" problem.
