No, because he had chaos max ready to go, and Chaos max would have let him get past it. What he should have done was attack over Kragen, let true light go off, then use prosis to get rid of the blue eyes

Cards that remove themsleves for cost or with floating effects being able to activate under skill drain is one of the few things that make it "fair". The problem is you can run a deck full of those kinds of things to take advantage of it yourself. Hell, that's the basic principle behind Golden Land Stun, all their effects happen in hand or grave. Blue Eyes decks are probably more dangerous under Skill Drain than without it because of how many dumb ways they have of summoning the highest Atk Normal Monster to beat over stuff. And Chaos MAX without effects is still a 4k beatstick.
thats why i use skill drain on my casual blue eyes deck, its fun to play under skill drain with high atk monsters, bring back a little of old times lol
However, Sometimes Skilldrain HELPS decks Skilldrain makes one of the Timelords into an easy 4k Beatstick you can **LITTERALLY NORMAL SUMMON** Same with Beast King Barbaros but at 3k, Night Express Knight also at 3k Hell, Theres a whole deck specifically for that kind of thing, Skilldrain Beatdown

This reminds me of a game I had the other day: I was playing Rank 10 Trains and was against Eldlich, they went first and set 3 facedowns, and then immediately when I drew for turn they flipped up Skill Drain. I had an Ash, Night Express Knight, Super Express Bullet Train, and Revolving Switchyard in my opener. My first instinctual thought on seeing Skill Drain was "use switchyard to search Derricrane to Xyz and pop Skill Drain", then I remembered I can't detach Derricrane because of Skill Drain, _then_ I remembered "wait a second... Skill Drain is actually _good_ for Trains" (note: I myself don't run Skill Drain in my Train deck even though it can be good for Trains, but maybe I should try it since it's so good against a lot of meta decks) I proceeded to summon Knight without tribute, Skill Drain negated it back into a 3000 beater, I special summoned Bullet, Skill Drain negating its attack drawback, I moved to combat, opponent activates an Eldlixir, I Ash it, and they scoop. (I assumed because that was the only Eldlich searcher they opened with?) It's kinda fun playing Rank 10 Trains against Eldlich, Numeron OTK, and Sky Strikers. Plenty of popping to slow/stop Eldlich, Trains OTK pretty consistently so I just Uno-Reverso OTK the Numeron players, and Sky Strikers games end up having a lot of back-and-forth. Screw Drytron Fairies though. Benten and Eva need to both be fully forbidden. Edit: Thanks for clarifying how costs and Skill Drain work. I just kinda assumed it wouldn't work, but now I know Derricrane would still pop things.
Wait why couldn't you have detached Derricrane? Skill Drain just negates monster effects on field, it doesn't stop you activating them in the first place or GY effects, and Derricrane's condition only requires you to detach itself to activate right?

But since targeting is a big part of yugioh now, the PSCT fixated the word "targets" as "targets". If a modern card says "targets", then it's targeting, if not, then it isn't.

Can I honestly ask, what is the attraction to playing decks that use skill drain? I like the challenge of having to think my combos out and Putting the best board I can I can come up in the situation. I love symchron tho tho so it's all random everyhame because doppel warrior is a funny card.
Essentially, the attraction is to prevent your opponent from doing exactly what you like to do. Thats how control decks work in a nutshell, slowing the game down to where they can eventually get an unbreakable board

Choosing is not Targeting Targeting effect would specifically said Targets I learn that the hard way, the card Underworld Goddess of the Closed World is uneffected by activated cards effect unless is a targeting effect thus Forbidden Droplet don't work on her. Once you learn things the hard way you most likely won't forget
You should of used grave of the super ancient organisms it stops special summoned lv 6 or higher monsters from attacking and activating there effects (another skill drain) then just get rid of it with droplets

Your mistake was attacking. If you changed to defense, their beatsticks wouldn't be able to hit you, and they would have had to rely on Chaos Max(which you were dead to regardless of what happened, all things considered).
