    Just happened to me at locals. Got hit with double flicker arc lightning clv. My hand was reds and I melted before he even presented an attack

      Ouch! That'll happen. I hope the rest of your games went better!

    I am not the most experienced player, but dropping the combo, including the Flicker Wisp, when against Assassin or Ranger, since they disrupt the massive turns.
    Been leaning into Trip the Light Fantastic and subbing for that, as a way to mitigate on hits from Azalea and force Assasins to have it after reactions.
    Having a good time!

      I don't combo against either of those classes, so I completely agree! Trip the Light Fantastic isn't a card that I've found room for. I'm not particularly concerned about Ranger, and I don't have many local assassins.

      @@Lupinefiasco one of the betters in my local meta committed a war crime against me with a Sandscour Azalea deck aimed squarely at ruining all the red decks floating around. 2 Judge, Jury, Executioner (via Memorial Grounds) followed by Red in the Ledger.
      He also has a lotttttt more experience (though I occasionally peel Ws off him), but it was absolutely crushing defeat and felt like a matchup to try to cover. This is really my first sideboard though, so I am definitely not an authority, just helping me :)

      Update, my adjustments made for PQ didn't see the light of day, because I didn't play against a single deck I prepared for and otherwise mostly raced :)

    I believe Aether Ironweave with 1 Def Battleworn is a low opportunity cost slot for the combo. Grasp still pairs well with it as a follow up action since Aurora isn't typically resource point bound. So really, you are just losing out on the Crown of Dominion's Gold action if you trim down on the combo equip suite to keep Def high (unless you are a Snapdragon afficionado over Lightning Greaves, like someone). I do like the intersection of budget options for new players. Crown of Dichotomy for Arcane match ups isn't bad for AB and could let a Flicker Wisp combo strike twice. well. The only issue for budget equipment is the defence value. While Grasp of the Arknight is the most powerful piece, it's also the easiest to replace? Huh. I could see a world of X 2 Def headpiece, Ather Ironweave, Vexing Quillhand, and Snapdragon Scalers doing just fine with an upgrade path to Grasp of the Arknight as budget increases. Snagging good helm fist seems to be the way to go, and based on the opportunity cost, Crown of Dominion isn't it.

      Playing toward the full combo with equipment makes a lot of sense on a budget: Dominion, Ironweave, Vexing, and Snaps can be bought for under $50 and Vexing even pulls double duty as arcane barrier. Arcanite Skullcap is going for $30 and is another upgrade for players who want more defense in the head slot.

    Do you generally draw into both. I have had a string of bad runs of arsenalling one and not finding the other for several turns. Do you try and pitch stack them?

    • @IcarusOOT
      @IcarusOOT 16 дней назад +1

      That's one way, imo the combo is primarily into the more fatiguey matchups (save for assassins since they can just say nuhuh) so it's a pretty solid strategy to pitch stack if the matchup fits
      I'd never do that into the earth heroes because there's a chance their ability would be online by time I find it.

      For me, I have been trying to factor in the likelihood of disruption and my ability to block it out if it happens. If I have armor up or enough to soak a CNC, I arsenal part of the combo and if I get a duplicate, I cycle the arsenal into play to at least indicate I am down one and to present the movement of it out of my arsenal (only to be replaced by another and hopefully speed up drawing into the next).
      I have noticed I am performing better now that I am not being SOOO precious about the combo, but the combo is so fun.

    • @Lupinefiasco
      @Lupinefiasco  16 дней назад

      I try not to rely too heavily on my arsenal against the Earth heroes. I might arsenal a combo piece for a turn or two, but if I know that my opponent still has 2-3 Plow Unders left then I'm usually not taking the chance. Arc Lightning in particular is a card I look to play as soon as possible.

    • @Lupinefiasco
      @Lupinefiasco  16 дней назад

      If I draw into both pieces at once then I usually fire on four cards. With a good hand I'm looking at 8-10 arcane damage, but more than that playing Arc Lightning with two other cards is going to be a pretty bad value. Getting Flicker value without the AL is very difficult.
      Pitch stacking against Enigma isn't something I specifically look to do, but if a combo piece gets Dissolve Reality'd or I pitch a piece so I don't IP then I'll at least be aware of where it is in my stack in case I pitch another piece later.

    • @IcarusOOT
      @IcarusOOT 16 дней назад

      And honestly if you find an arc Lightning very early, just throw it out there, put the pressure on, makes it easier to last and find the combo
