My friend is a former Mormon and she hob-nobed with "Mormon royalty" in the seventies.....
She dated an Osmond, rode horses with apostle Boyd K. Packer's kids, was a winner in the Miss Provo and Miss Utah Pageants, ran for Miss USA, was Belle of the Y Princess, and did her PhD and taught at BYU. She knows all there is to know about Mormonosm, and she says this video is 100% TRUE and accurate! And my friend would LOVE to go on this podcast and help support Jesse---because Jesse is telling the Truth!

When I used to live in California, I went to a ward where people were kind, sociable and friendly to me. But one day, when I was at a grocery store, I went to a check out line behind a lady who goes to the ward and is usually kind to me at church. I called out her name with a greeting, no reaction from her. I tapped her on the shoulders with a greeting along with her name, no reaction from her. Then when I saw her at church the following Sunday, she greeted me with a smile. I decided to look at her as if I didn't know her, and didn't react to her.

You are trying, but you are not free to worship as you were intended to until you can do it one on one, without someone in between telling you how you should be doing it. @Taiwan92Abarth my profession involves deconstructing brainwashed cult members. LDS bears all the characteristics of a cult, it's very similar to Scientology in that it's polytheistic and members believe they can 'work' their way upwards and eventually become "Gods".

@Taiwan92Abarth Calling somebody ignorant is very childish. And second, you're in a cult! You're blind! Poor you! You are certainly brainwashed. Jesus is no brother of Satan. There is no polygamy in Heaven. Sex in Heaven??? NOT TRUE! Joseph Smith is a fraud! He took orders from Satan. Oh yeah! He had contact with the Devil. Mormons have been decieved, and are doomed for Hell. I'm glad I'm not a Mormon! I once attended a meeting. I'm never going back! The book of Mormon replaces the King James Bible. Any book that speaks other than the Bible, is Satan talk. You missed the point! I said I belong to no religion. I only believe in God, not man! What's also misleading is that Jesus came where the Aztecs were, and called it the New Jerusalem. No where does that say in the Bible! The New Jerusalem is yet to come. Not of this world!

April it is never too late to do what you know is right, to follow the truth and to come to know the one true God who loves you, created you in His image and desires a relationship with you. Call upon the name of Jesus to be saved, through repentance for your sin and faith in Christ's death on the cross, knowing that this was done as an atonement for your sins so that you might be saved! You are saved through faith alone, by God's grace. There is power in the resurrection of Jesus.. He is alive! Can I share some verses with you that clearly show Salvation? I will share them in the next comment. Also, feel free to email me so we can talk further and help you find a solid Bible preaching church in your area.

      The Bible says:
1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life.
Isaiah 59:2 But your sinful acts have alienated you from your God; your sins have caused him to reject you and not listen to your prayers.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory (the perfect holiness) of God, Rom. 3:23
There is no one righteous, not even one, Rom. 3:9-10
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not of works, so that no one can boast.
Titus 3:5-7 he saved us, not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior. And so, since we have been justified by his grace, we become heirs with the confident expectation of eternal life.
Romans 4:1-5 What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, has discovered regarding this matter? For if Abraham was declared righteous by the works of the law, he has something to boast about (but not before God). For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous, his faith is credited as righteousness.
Romans 1:4 who was appointed the Son-of-God-in-power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 4:25 He was given over because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of our justification.
2 Corinthians 5:21 God made the one who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God.
1 Peter 3:18 Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.
John 1:12 But to all who have received him--those who believe in his name--he has given the right to become God's children
John 3:16-18 For this is the way God loved the world: he gave his one and only Son that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him. The one who believes in Him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
This means we must each come to God the same way: (1) as a sinner who recognizes his sinfulness, (2) realizes no human works can result in salvation, and (3) relies totally on Christ alone by faith alone for our salvation.
If you have just trusted in Christ, you need to learn about your new life and how to walk with the Lord. I would LOVE to talk to you more and to send you resources that will help you grow in your understanding of God and your new relationship with Him.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches a false God, a false Jesus Christ and false prophets. I have this ministry here on RUclips and I expose all of the problems and lies in Mormonism through MANY more videos than this one. I encourage you to watch them and to study these issues for yourself. Becoming a Christian is the best decision of your life! :) Sounds like you were once in a Christian church but then got led into the LDS church. I highly encourage you to seek out the truth and details behind Mormonism and it's history and doctrine and to cling to the truths of the Bible.

I left the Mormon church almost two years ago and am now attending a non-denominational Christian church. Having said that, I think it's important to remember that just because a Mormon said something at some point, does not mean that it is what all Mormons believe today. Many of the things that were shared in this video are simply not at all what I was taught in my 42 years of weekly attendance at the Mormon church. I realize there are probably references for all of the "facts" that were shared here, but that does not mean this is what all Mormons believe today. Mormons throughout its young history have said all kinds of things that are not considered to be the doctrine of the church today. I also know many Mormons who hold personal beliefs that do not necessarily reflect what is always said at the pulpit. This makes the whole conversation endlessly complicated. It is my hope that we can all offer one another the same grace that we EACH so desperately need in this life.

I understand fully what you're saying. Yes, I can back up every claim made in the video and I do admit that yes, some of the things are not taught today (but were at some point by a "prophet!") so I can't just dismiss the past stuff and pretend it wasn't taught. Most things stated are current beliefs, though, and are not disclosed unless you search it out and learn it for yourself. So many secrets. So much kept hidden. Even people who join the church usually have NO IDEA what is done in the temples or that the goal is to become a god one day. Most people are unfamiliar with Joseph and Brigham and other's polygamy and contradicting teachings about who God is.... etc!! And this info needs to be made known.
I also hear you when you say to extend grace to one another but I simply cannot extend grace to people who are living in ignorance (many willingly) while they are serving an absolutely false god/gods. I need to proclaim the truth! As a Bible-believing Christian who loves Jesus and wants the world to come to know Him as their personal Savior, I have to expose false beliefs and proclaim the truth of the Word of God and I want to share the one and only true God and make Him known.

To be honest, I wasn't looking for a video such as this but the title caught my attention. Reading a lot of these comments, I have to say I agree with you. I had been a Mormon for over 30 yrs & I wasn't taught a lot of the things in this video & I have never heard of families not being able to be with their family members if they were excommunicated from the church. But hey, it seems a lot of church leaders in a lot of different denominations have never even read the Bible. So, the way I look at it is, if you want to be close to God, read the Bible, gain a close relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus and don't sweat the small stuff. We can cant self righteousness till the cows come home and point the finger at any Church and go on a fault finding campaign but that will not make us better people. Just saying... probably good to ask questions and choose your lifestyle with care and thoughtfulness.

i don't want to detract from jessie's comment, but i do have a question for any mormon. how do you know what the true teachings of present day mormonism is? if you can't get it from reading the standard works, or elders quorum lesson manual, or sunday school manual, or the official online mormon website? how do you know for yourself what the true mormon doctrine is, and h ow do you know that jessie is not repeating official modern mormon doctrine? if there is no written documentation for what you believe, aren't you then in danger of leading yourself and others astray with false teachings?

    • @olgamiller216
      @olgamiller216 5 лет назад +10

@@longnamenocansayy My take is, if you can't find the info by reading the official works, manuals & etc. then you have to consider the frame of reference. Then too, look at all the changes in the Catholic church. People don't question the changes so it shouldn't be surprising that the Mormon church makes changes. I believe there is such a thing as spiritual growth so maybe... It's why we need to keep studying the Bible. God opens our eyes when we're ready and able to understand.

Julia Dawn Olson Just to throw my two cents in; I come from a very heavily influenced Mormon home and my mother believes every single point made in this video. The bottomline here, in my opinion, is not whether all Mormons believe the LDS church doctrine or have even heard of most of these things. It’s that this church was not founded on biblical principals and biblical account of Christ Jesus. Which makes it a false Christ (Matthew 24:24) and because they think works and baptism and repentance saves they will be cast out (Matthew 7:21-23) Ignorance is not the same as innocence and we should be mindful of what people who speak “Christianese” say. That’s my take

As someone who was adopted by a Mormon family at the age of 9, I can positively tell you that I was taught most of the stuff that she is talking about during Sunday school and also during 'Sacrament" (same thing as listening to your pastor but it's different speakers for the Mormon church). I'm so glad that my mom got out of this church and that she didn't push me to get out, too. If she would have pushed me, I would have not listened to her. Instead, she let me come to her to ask her why she left. She told me and showed me how she was fooled into believing in a pagan religion after she was raised a Baptist. Before I was adopted at age 9, I believed in Jesus Christ, but I really didn't understand Christianity. So, it was easy for me to get sucked into that pagan religion of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (BIG contradiction in that name). I've been out since 1993 after I joined the military and got stationed in Germany.

@richardstorm4603 In 1974 I joined the Army and was stationed in Germany until I got out in March of 1979.
It was there that I went to Germany as a Catholic and left as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
One thing I learned was that the facts I thought were facts were not. I now know I have the correct facts. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's Church upon this earth. It was created for the humans who would be sent to this planet right before the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ to prepare the people of this world for the changes that will be made for the millennium.
What is the major sign to mankind that the 2nd coming will happen soon?
Here is a revelation from Joseph Smith to the world:
“I have asked of the Lord concerning His coming; and while asking the Lord, He gave a sign and said, ‘In the days of Noah I set a bow in the heavens as a sign and token that in any year that the bow should be seen the Lord would not come; but there should be seed time and harvest during that year: but whenever you see the bow withdrawn, it shall be a token that there shall be famine, pestilence, and great distress among the nations, and that the coming of the Messiah is not far distant.’”
The bow has been seen this year. And remember this... it does not have to rain to see the rainbow. You can often see it when spraying water on the lawn on a sunny day.
I find it funny that you can state a FACT yet because it is a future event you are proclaiming yourself to be a prophet and declaring that what Joseph Smith will or won't be.
The only FACT your presented was that you "believe" Joseph Smith will never be a God. And it is amazing to me that you say "planets" to rule over, when I would say "Galaxy" to rule over.
Ever notice when looking at Galaxies from the Hubble Telescope... that you can not see the center of any of them because the center of all of them is lit with a light so bright? In the center of each Galaxy is where the Glory of the God of that place shines forth. That is what I believe. So you thinking that any one who becomes like our Father in Heaven only rules over a few planets is just silly.

People rarely hear that M-O-R-M-O-N is one letter from M-O-R-O-N. It is believed that Joseph Smith had a hatred of religion and was a con man, so he chose to add the second M. Mormons claim that they believe the Holy Bible, but the Book of Mormon and their other books contradict the Holy Bible many times. When people are talked to about becoming Mormon, many of them ask questions that the young people don't know the answers to, so they research to answer and then find out many wrongs in their religion, then some quit.

My Mormon Mission... God forgive me. So I was raised LDS, my father served an LDS mission. Growing up in a small Utah town all of my friends went on missions, but I didn't want to because I felt in my heart that the LDS church was not true. I never believed in Joseph Smith or the BOM. So I went to college, also in Utah. There I met other friends who were confused as to why I wasn't on a mission at the age of 19. I was under so much pressure from my family and friends to go. I was told that I would never get married and that I promised to save people before I was born, but that I would be letting them down if I didn't go. So I caved in and went. I never read the BOM until I was in the MTC. I still felt that the church was not true and that the BOM was invented. On the mission I followed all the rules to the exact detail (it's my personality). But every time I taught about good ol' Joe and his book I felt horrible and never believed it. I feel like the mission was an incredibly aggressive sales pitch for Mormonism. I was required to keep statistical data that was reported to the HQ every week. It's honestly like trying to sell a used car with no tires. But I grinned and bore the two year event and "returned with honor." Now I feel really bad because I drove people away from the true Christ (if he actually exists). So God please forgive me.

Hi Jessie, you are very informative. I grew up in a Reorgaized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints family home. ( Not Mormon but shared some main beliefs. ) I Believed our church was the only way to salvation and that every one else is going to hell and that the Catholic church was the church of the devil. I was a non active member for years because I kept silent.
To make a long story short, at the age of 40 I came out of my bubble when I started asking questions and was not happy with the answers I received. I explored other Faiths. It says in the Bible that God wants us to question everything because in doing so we will find the truth. Wow has my journey of faith changed since coming out of the bubble.
I have so many stories of how God has blessed me and those I love.
All I need is my Bible.
God's salivation is for everyone, not just a chosen few. There is good and bad in all religion........but I also believe more than anything what my Grandfather told me. He said salvation is not how many times you go to church......or what church you go to......it's how you live your life, how you treat your next door neighbor, our actions and the kind of person you are in your heart.
God loves everyone. There is good and bad in everyone.
I would also like to point out that in the Bible it says why satan was kicked out of heaven and who he is/was.
The Bible are the only words I need. I pray you will be blessed in your search for the truth. You are definitely on the right track.

My answer should not sound harsh to you as it is difficult to show how I really mean it by writing. I mean it with love. Sorry you´re wrong! You think your way is the same as for example the Christian way.
But the way with Jesus Christ is unique. He is the way, the truth, the life and no one cometh to the father but through him. It´s about our sin before God. That made the gap between God and men. (the spiritual and also bodily dead).True repentence is what God wants and always wanted from us. He loves us but will judge correctly. As everybody is somehow guilty he would have to judge all of us. The wages of sin is death. This is also what you might have heared about heaven and hell. I know that in some famos east religions they talk rather of reincarnation and drop hell. But hell is real. So God in his love for us send his only begotten son that he would pay our wages. He suffered and died instead of us.
When you truly repend and accept Jesus Christ as your savior and give your live to him in a serious prayer, you will be free of sin (wages of..) immediately and will receive his holy spirit which also means that you will be bornagain.
A bornagain Christian. You would notice the difference. Please then (go on ) praying to Got in Jesus Name or to Jesus Christ and read the bible. It´s not about being rich and always of promised good health. It´s not about energies. It´s not about wishes to be fulfilled. Its not about meditating and hearing inner voices (I had my experiences... with "Angels", "Jesus" and others) Find out. It´s really serious. Please find out. There are also many false preachers.
It´s not about (trying) to be good. It´s about accepting his salvation. But , as I am not native english speaking I don´t know many, but you may listen to Paul Washer, John Lennox, ...and of course going on reading the bible.
Please excuse me if I misunderstood something.
      May God bless you.

One day I decided that I would investigate the "rumors" I've heard about the organization and I was completely shocked to learn about the confirmed lies and cover-ups that the leaders have said and done through the years. It's bad guys. A warning, don't buy into the current leaders' lies. The members are super ignorant and most are very apologetic, you are very looked down on if you question the the teachings or history of the church. It saddens me to say that the church can NOT be true and those who don't agree have not done their research. Be brave and go into Sherlock Holmes mode. You will thank me one day. This is not reasonable, all good thing come of Christ. In the Bible we find the Savior making this statement to some those who would not believe. “You are of you Father the devil, he was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there IS NO TRUTH IN HIM” the devil never supports those who follow him with spiritual gifts, he is not capable. He may give that which will not last, which is temporal thing, but by and by these thing fade away. He cannot enlighten with spiritual truth or make you have feeling like the Holy Ghost, again he is not capable of this kind of love, which love come from our Heavenly Father.

Going through faith crisis watching my husband passed away and having to come to the realization that everything I believed in was false was extremely hard to bear. I have been sharing the truth to friends that are willing to listen. Have you noticed that when you try to help friends or family see the truth of the lies of this church how angry they become and pull away from you? I remember going through all of that I was so afraid that my whole life was going to come crashing down on me, which it did I went through the process of denial and unbelief. But now that I am free and my eyes are wide open I have never been happier. Thank you for your beautiful videos. It's true that the truth will set you free. There is so much Scripture to back up false prophets, and your teachings (I don’t have time to write down), I know the Mormons believe that the Bible has many flaws and they do not believe. However, they will pick and choose the Scriptures they want to quote so they can feel like they are Christ like. I myself, have a personal relationship with the true Jesus and He has given me so much peace and joy. I don’t deserve it, but He is a gracious God and only He is the one I go through in prayer. @@tonyawhaley1781 Well Tonya I will tell you this. His last words are totally dependent upon which version you read. Right?
Let's see... in Matthew he says that the last words of Jesus are:
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Then Matthew says: 50 ¶ Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Now let us look and see what Mark has to say:
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
So Matthew and Mark say the same thing. Let us see what Luke has to say:
46 ¶ And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
And now for the last testimony of what his last words were... from John:
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
So there ya have it Tonya. 4 versions, 2 are the same... 2 are different. So let me now ask you.
You said I bet you don’t have a clue of his last words on the cross. It is finished.
Now you know that that might not have been the last words he said. We really don't know do we????? But I think you would like it to be.. It is finished but as you can see ... that was just one of four.

Sir, you need Jesus. Jesus said, "Follow Me." Jesus is the good Shepherd. Jesus will never let you down.
John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
Jesus is my substitute (i.e. Isaiah 53:4-6). He is way more than my example. A substitute does it for us. An example shows us how but we must still do it. He personally paid the penalty for all my sin. As a result, of His mercy I want to obey His commandments.
Jesus as my righteousness, as our law-keeper (i.e. Romans 5:19, 1 Corinthians 1:3; Isaiah 61:10) The biblical truth is that Jesus kept the law for us
I know for sure that I have been completely forgiven (i.e. Hebrews 10:14-17) and am accepted by God (i.e. 1 Peter 2:9).
I know God is with me, providing and protecting me (i.e. Romans 8:31-39, Psalm 23).
I know for sure that when I die I will live eternally with Heavenly Father (i.e. Philippians 1:23).
I have no doubts because my acceptance by God depends entirely on Jesus’ work for me and he has already accomplished it (John 19:30).

As a current Mormon I can tell you that much of what you said in this video is true. Though I don't see most of it in the sinister light that you try and paint it. Most differences between what you believe and Mormons believe are not sinister, they are just different. A few specific things I want to point out. 1. "satanic" star symbols on the temple. There are actually several different version of both 5 and 6 pointed stars on many temples. The 5 pointed start was used in early Christianity to symbolize the 5 wounds of Christ (two in his hands, two in his feet, and 1 in his side) So not satanic. If the bottom point is elongated is represents Jesus coming to earth. The 6 pointed stars if they are displayed prominently are a reference to the star of David. Sometimes they are just supposed to look like stars, the twinkly kind. 2. The mountain meadows massacre. 100% agree this was a horrific event. We all know that, but Brigham young was hundreds of miles away when it happened and had no idea about it until weeks later. So he was not involved. The Mormons were a persecuted people, they had been driven from their homes in Missouri and Illinois, often in the dead of winter and in the middle of the night. Governor Lilburn Bogs had even passed the Mormon extermination order making it legal to shoot Mormons on sight. (that law stayed on the books until 1976) So yes, these settlers were a little on edge. It was still wrong, nobody is trying to justify it, but context matters. 3. Was Brigham young an evil racist? By today's standards, absolutely! By the standards of the 1860's he was pretty tolerant. Really anyone who was not actively hunting down runaway slaves and hanging them from trees was a bleeding heart liberal back then so lets keep things in context. It should also be noted that nobody was ever actually sentenced to death for having relations with a person of color. Now you can say his words were still evil but prophets from the Old Testament say a person should be killed for wearing clothing of mixed cloth, so I guess we all have a little crazy in our background. Interesting note, near the end of Joseph Smiths life he became an abolitionist himself and in 1844 wrote a lengthy letter calling for all slaves to be freed. If you are really trying to spread truth then you need to include the context.

Mormons are legendary for their "newspeak" . as a jr high kid I was told not to tell people what church I attended, but to invite kids to church. That people would prejudge us without getting to know us...they were right.
In high school i went to seminary classes before school, they had us study the KJV in my sophomore year. I kept reading it and by my senior year had many difficult questions and deep misgivings about what they were saying to outsiders vs. what they were teaching me, as i was preparing for missions, we had been to the temple and participated in baptism for the dead, and that KJV kept coming up, you know, John 3:16&17...Eph 2: 8-10...stuff like that...so I started asking questions.
The questions were not welcome. And after a period of time, I wasn't either.
Fast forward 2 years I join the Marines...on Sunday if you go to church you can escape the watchful eye of the drill instructors for 2 hrs! So I went to the LDS service...within 2 weeks of filling out the visitors card, tha minister in charge met me at the door and explained where all the other denominations met...I was blackballed! Not that I'm hurt, just a fun example of LDS love....the holy spirit got ahold of me a few years later, and I'm saved now. Pray for your LDS frieds, the indoctrination theye been through is powerful...they're convinced if they lose their membership they're eternally cursed...it's sad really, no assurance of salvation.

The Bible calls this idolatry, blasphemy and believing another gospel damns you to eternal torment in hell. Gal. 1:8
I had four LDS missionaries in my home and they wanted me to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it and God would automatically tell me it is true. I showed them from the word of God that I do not pray to their heavenly father who was once a man, so I would not get the answer that they would get. I worship the Creator.

The highest heavens cannot contain Him. He created Adam out of the dust of the ground. No wife needed. No pre existence.
Why don't you worship your Creator?

I was recently asked come to their church under the guise of Christianity. I had no idea they were Mormons until I got there. Soon as they talked about going to temple, gold plates and Joseph smith. I was totally confused because I know true Christians do not believe in that. Then one of their missionaries was talking to me and opened their bible and at the bottom it said Mormon. That’s when I was even more puzzled because I had no idea about Mormonism. Literally recently I am learning about it and another missionary asked me what my religious background is, in front of their followers. When I said I was raised in Islam but I don’t agree with the religion. That’s when one of their followers told me it’s all the same and most religions come from the Middle East have similar beliefs. So later through text I asked their missionary if they practice polygamy, which I am totally against and one of the reasons I don’t subscribe to Islam, the missionary told me they used to do it under the directions from God. So I have been telling them I’m busy and don’t have time to come over for “bible” study. Honestly I’m kind of afraid to offend them so I’m trying to respectfully decline their offer to “save my soul.” Thank you for exposing who they are because I almost fell into that cult but luckily I always do my research before committing to anything. 😅 you’re right they definitely lie about a lot of things until you catch them in their lies.

hey, I was the same way about 2 years ago, then I took a step back an analyzed things. Sure, the church teaches generally good things that will make you happy, but ultimately it can not be true (or highly unlikely anyway) as the claim of it can not be verified. For this, consider a simple experiment.
Since 2 people from two different religions can pray about something and both feel a confirmation of their beliefs, while it is not possible for them both to be correct, then we must conclude faith is not a good measure of truth. Since faith is really the only way to justify belief in a religion, that means, believing in the church (or any church for this matter) is an act that can not be justified, thus since it can not ever be shown to be a justifiable action, it makes no sense to believe in one.
This is a hard pill to swallow but is ultimately the logical conclusion.

@Distin Hirschi Jesus said “Except a man is born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” Jesus himself got baptized and he received the Holy Ghost. His Apostles baptized believers and conferred the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. How about those who died without the gospel. Jesus’ words are clear: They cannot enter into the kingdom of God. How can they receive the gospel if they’re dead? 1 Peter 4:6 says, “For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.” But how can they be baptized? Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:29, “Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?” Baptism for the dead in the Church is by revelation a vicarious ordinance of the gospel which is performed in the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There are now 168 such temples in operation, and more will continue to be constructed till the second coming of Jesus Christ.

What's helped me honestly is accepting that the church's history is, in fact, not squeaky clean. The church has been working to be more transparent in recent years which is awesome, and I welcome it! But for so many years church leaders encouraged a perfectly tidy vision of church history, and it was simply not a complete picture. Prophets were never perfect people, many church leaders have said and done questionable things, members have wrongly acted in the name of the church, and so on. However, the church is in a constant process of receiving revelation to improve upon it's past and to advance forward. I've found comfort in the fact that Christ himself is perfect, and that he chooses to work through imperfect people to build his kingdom. This means that sometimes mistakes are made, people are hurt, and reputations are marred. But this doesn't mean that Christ's gospel is untrue, or that the church he's established on earth is unworthy of our membership. It just means that we still have work to do to learn from the mistakes of our past and the past of the church.
My Dad would take me and my brothers and sisters to Church history sites while we were growing up. Plural marriage... Always knew about that. Bank failure in Kirtland... Always knew about that. Problems Saints had with the pro-slavery Missouri militia... Always knew about that. Smith destroying the Expositor, then getting protected and exonerated by the Nauvoo courts, then killed for it... Always knew about that. Young was a controversial leader who harbored racist ideologies while also leading The Saints... Always knew about that.
History was part of my life. And I knew about those things when I had a miraculous experience as a teen, and felt the Spirit of God, and knew The Church was true.
I still had a hard time as a missionary when I encountered anti-Mormon materials. Some of it is asked in a way that makes the antagonism not necessarily a question that is easy to answer. And sometimes anti-Mormons did not allow an answer, or tried to frame what they expected the answer to be.
Sometimes the honest answer is, "I have faith." Sometimes that is the honest answer.
I think sometimes Saints think that there is an easy answer for everything, and there isn't and antagonists play that to their advantage.
I guess it was and is easier to me because I was exposed to antagonistic material and the more difficult aspects of Church history prior to my conversion. It would probably be harder for someone who was converted, then experienced anti-Mormon material.
The scriptures are clear that spiritual things can only truly be understood through a spiritual lens. Take the spiritual lens out of the equation (which is what antagonists do) and it is harder to explain or justify the controversial aspects of Church history.
Smiths plural marriages... Taken in the context against Biblical plural marriages is understandable (to me). It was practiced in the Bible. It was practiced by Smith and Young and the early Latter-Day Church.
Bank failure in Kirtland.... Smith was trying to help people, and there was a broad global recession at the same time. Lots of banks failed. Smith and many others lost everything with everyone else. Tragic. Sad. But The Church now has safeguards (lol) against recession and financial loss, and the current Church assets have to be understood against Church history of The Church being destitute in Kirtland, assets taken in Missouri, and assets left in Illinois.
Smith translating The Book of Mormon and Book of Abraham... Smith had power and spiritual insights and gifts you and I and Egyptologists or antagonists to The Church do not have access to-- or really an understanding of (without a spiritual lens). If you want to know The Book of Mormon is true then you have to pray to God. That is where the spiritual answer to the Book of Mormon is found. That is not an answer that satisfies many antagonists to The Church.
Despite my sincere efforts to understand Jesus Christ, I find myself facing questions from others who interpret the Bible differently. As for how it all ends, I believe it remains a mystery until God chooses to reveal it. Until then, the quest for understanding continues.
Imagine having a personal spiritual experience, feeling its goodness deeply within yourself, only to have someone else speak against it. In such moments, it may seem as though the very essence of what you felt or believed in-the spirit-has been called into question. This raises profound questions: Is God truly real? Could it be that the spirit is deceiving us? Do we genuinely experience the love of God?
If God will punish me of believing on something is not true or believe someone saying something that you belong in a wrong faith. So be it!

'There was once a man of Christ named Josef who made a middling wage in the world he lived. A religious man in a white robe, blue of eyes, speaks to him and says, "I am a shepherd of Jesus flock, give me your tithe and together we shall build the church of Christ." Another man in white, but brown of eyes, speaks to him and says, "I am a shepherd of Jesus flock, give me your tithe and together we shall build the church of Christ." Another man, disheveled and in rags speaks to him and says, "I am hungry. Can you help me?" Josef thinks to himself for a moment, and wonders to himself, of these three... who is beggar, who is shepherd, and who is charlatan, for I honestly cannot tell the difference. I think you are both missing the point here. Grace and faith are two different things.
Grace is decided by Jesus and faith is decided by us and both are required to achieve the maximum outcome in an afterlife...
So we come across an argument that I see so many times, but actually both sides of the argument miss the context of the point...
Our faith cannot save us nor can our works if Jesus decides not to apply his grace... Grace is a decision based on how Jesus considers our situation..
Now to go with the Mormon point of view, Jesus grew in favour of God as he practiced doing his will, which means that as Jesus said as a warning "by there works you shall know them".
If you believe his words you will follow the two parables as Jesus taught.. 1. Not to hide your light
      2. To be a good Samaritan.
Jesus also talks of what keeps you out of heaven, and it's not
Based on false beliefs, false prophets etc, which were rife during Christ time. Rather than do what this post tries to do,bwhich destroys good faith in what are called "true believer Mormons", but is more on the fact in how well you live your life....
Can a Hindu be saved? Or a Muslim be saved? Even if they have no passing mention of Jesus between their ears?
Grace applies here as Jesus will say, these lived their lives as good people etc, it won't matter of the false doctrine they were taught.
If a Mormon keeps their values as the ancient Essenes did and serve man and woman in their best capacity according to their beliefs, god's grace is more lightly apply to these than professors of faith who like the Pharisees taught good things but their hearts were far away...
I think both sides of the argument miss the point and neither understand grace or works...

I saw something on RUclips that I had never known before about Joseph Smith. I have not researched or verified this, but if it's true it very much impacts the credibility of Mormonism. The RUclips video made the claim that typhoid swept through the Smith family while Joseph was six years old. The disease initially settled in a gland in his armpit which a doctor then lanced and drained with no pain medication. The typhoid then was said to become systemic finally settling in the tibia of his leg. From the report, there were three separate occasions where they cut open his leg, with no pain medication or anesthesia, on three occasions and scraped the infection off the bone and out of the muscles. The psychologist stated that this sort of trauma in early childhood would cause dissociation from reality, and that this could be a lifelong issue. If this is true, it makes me see Joseph Smith in a different light - not as a liar and con man, but as a human being suffering PTSD, and deflecting difficulty or trauma by fantasizing. This, however, does not change the fact that Mormonism is a man made, false religion, and people caught up in Mormonism would be much better off finding the real Jesus of the Bible.

    • @cornyplays8766
      @cornyplays8766 2 года назад

This is crazy seeing this comment because I was taught that Joseph Smith was sick and the infection went to his leg and the were going to amputate it but it miraculously healed through painful treatments of taking the infection out of his leg. I was taught he was even offered whisky and he turned it down because it wasn't good for him. It would make a lot of sense if the trauma made him have these fantasies. It is fascinating to learn stuff like this after being raised LDS.

T Thinker: Well your conclusion is fantasy with no evidence. How could some psychologist who never met Joseph Smith make such an outrageous diagnosis and conclusion? lol Here are some facts with corroborating evidence and witnesses that would stand up in court. Joseph and Oliver were visited by John the Baptist, Peter, James, John, Jesus Christ, Moses, Paul, and Elijah--"In the mouths of two or three witnesses shall every word be established" according to the bible. At least five people saw the angel Moroni and wrote a testimony of that fact. 13 people saw and handled the gold plates and wrote a testimony of that fact. Numerous people observed the translation process of the Book of Mormon wherein Joseph Smith gazed into the Urim and Thummim, saw the Egyptian figures in the upper portion of the device and the English translation below which he read aloud so that Oliver Cowdery could write it down. Oliver then read it back to make sure he had written it correctly. If he had, the images would disappear and new images appeared and so on. When they returned from a break, Joseph never asked where they left off because he had no idea. He just began reading what was in the Urim and Thummim again. Joseph did not know Egyptian and could not have possibly translated it in normal translation processes. The entire text of some 525 pages was translated in 60. Joseph said it was translated "by the gift and power of God." Try reading the book and ask yourself if such a book could have been written by anyone in 60 days without any revisions. Unlike the bible the Book of Mormon comes with a guarantee that "if you will read with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truthfulness of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost." Millions, including myself, testify that they have received that testimony.
There is and always has been only one Jesus Christ, the son of God. He is spoken of as the coming Messiah in the Old Testament and the Redeemer and Savior in the New Testament. It is he who revealed his word to the prophets of the tribe of Joseph which are found in the Book of Mormon. See Ezekiel 37 It is he who said in the New Testament that "other sheep I have which are not of this fold, them also I must bring." He visited the tribe of Joseph and declared himself to be the Christ, the risen Lord. You can read all about his visit and his teachings in the Book of Mormon. He also told them he still had other tribes to visit--the Lost 10 tribes described in the bible.
Jesus Christ began fulfilling the prophecy of Acts 3:19-21by calling a prophet (see Amos 3:7) restoring the fulness of his gospel a second time, restoring priesthood authority so the saving ordinances of baptism and giving the Gift of the Holy Ghost could be accomplished, restoring His church with the same organization and authority it had when he was on the earth, and naming his church. There is nothing man made about it. It's "built on a foundation of apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone" just as it was in the primitive church.

@@troll-tx4mp The word cult refers to an unorthodox sect whose members distort the original doctrines of the religion. In a Christian context, the definition of a cult is, specifically, “a religious group that denies one or more of the fundamentals of biblical truth.” A cult is a group that teaches doctrines that, if believed, will cause a person to remain unsaved. A cult claims to be part of a religion, yet it denies essential truth(s) of that religion. Therefore, a Christian cult will deny one or more of the fundamental truths of Christianity while still claiming to be Christian.
The two most common teachings of Christian cults are that Jesus was not God and that salvation is not by faith alone. A denial of the deity of Christ results in the view that Jesus’ death was insufficient to pay for our sins. A denial of salvation by faith alone results in the teaching that salvation is achieved by our own works. The apostles dealt with cults in the early years of the church: for example, John addresses the teaching of Gnosticism in 1 John 4:1-3. John’s litmus test for godly doctrine was “Jesus Christ has come in the flesh” (verse 2)-a direct contradiction of the Gnostic heresy (cf. 2 John 1:7).
The two most well-known examples of cults today are the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons. Both groups claim to be Christian, yet both deny the deity of Christ and salvation by faith alone. Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons believe many things that are in agreement with or similar to what the Bible teaches. However, the fact that they deny the deity of Christ and preach a salvation by works qualifies them as cults.

@@itsmejessie Heavenly Father, as I personally know Him, is kind and loving.
He knows that not all will understand or be able come to the truth in a world full of confusion and deceit. As I see it, the most important part of any faith is a person's honest intention to follow truth, seeing as whenever they are actually confronted with it if they are set on following truth, they will recognize it and follow it.
Coming to know Christ is the best thing that ever happened to me. Through His grace, and Heavenly Father's plan, I am conquering things that have plagued me for a majority of my life and finding peace within myself for the first time.

I'm a former Mormon and I really appreciate what you are doing here! Lots of these things not even lifelong Mormons really know. It's insane. The only correction I'd make is that Mormons aren't polytheist but henotheists. Polytheists worship multiple gods while henotheists worship one god but believe in multiple gods.

It's Me Jessie I think this is where it gets tricky for actual Christians in understanding what Mormons believe around Christ. Because true Christians worship Christ but Mormons only really view him as their Messiah or Savior but not their God. The Heavenly Father of *this* Earth is their God and the only one they treat as such. Jesus and the Holy Ghost are instruments of God and aren't "deserving" of the same sort of treatment. Did I worship Jesus as a Mormon? Absolutely not. In fact, it was one of the big issues I started to have as I got older (I was raised Mormon). Mormons will point to "Jesus Christ" being in their name and they truly think that's sufficient. It's not. At all. They don't emphasis Jesus nearly as much as Christian churches do. They respect and revere their version of Christ but he is only a god to them no THE god. The funny thing is for them to push back on the idea that they are polytheist means they have to admit they don't worship Christ.
And I know this will be unpopular but I went Catholic after leaving Mormonism. However, I am always so happy to see any former Mormon turn to Jesus and the Trinity. Catholics acknowledge the baptism of Protestants because Protestants are correct in their belief in God. As a former Mormon I had to be baptised into Catholicism because, well, I was never a Christian. I was never baptised in the name of our true Lord.

    • @margaretphillips1137

I want to clarify- like with most thing Mormons use familiar terms that mean something different to them. Many will likely tell you they worship Christ. My argument is that they don't. They don't pray to Christ, for example, only to God in Christ's name. The "worship" of Mormonism looks very different from the worship of those who believe in the Trinity.

@@margaretphillips1137 Yes, I understand the concept of what you said and that was my understanding as well. I think you adding the point that Mormons saying that they're not Polytheistic means they have to deny worship of the Mormon Christ was a major point. My Mormon friends do not agree with what you told me (or should I say, don't *admit* what you told me) about Jesus. They all tell me that he is absolutely a God and equal with Heavenly Father and that they worship him. I never know when my Mormon friends are actually being completely honest with me. Sometimes I believe that they are being honest because maybe they just don't have all the answers and don't fully know how to answer. But then other times I feel like I'm being deceived. When talking about doctrine, I get the answers like, "Yes, we absolutely believe that. The same as you do!" But I know what they're saying is false and that they don't believe that at all. *sigh* It's exhausting. Anyways.. I appreciate your explanation and the time you took to write. And had I left Mormonism and converted to a Christian denomination, I absolutely believe in getting baptized again for real. 🙂 ..Baptized into a Bible-believing faith. And though I disagree with Roman Catholicism, I don't doubt that there are Catholics who are truly born again and who have fully accepted the true Gospel message of the Bible and Biblical Salvation. I do disagree with all works-based religions as well as the mediators placed between God and man, such as priests and the Pope and all. The Gospel message of the New Testament is so clear that Jesus is our mediator with the Father and that we can go directly to Him in prayer and in relationship. And Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that it's not by our works that we're saved but through our faith in Jesus, by the grace of God and as a free gift from Him.. not of works lest any man should boast. But anyway.. just sharing my beliefs. Glad you commented! Hi George, I don’t have much time to do a full rebuttal of all of the claims here, but I’m happy to try to shed some light. Do you mind if I connect with you via email?
The overarching claim of this video is that the missionaries of the church will lie or omit parts of the gospel, in essence tricking people into joining the church. Its just not true. I was a missionary for two years and serve now as a ward missionary in my community. I’m well versed in the doctrine of the church, as well as the church history. The church is very transparent about its doctrine and its history. See the Joseph Smith Papers project josephsmithpapers.org, Saints history.lds.org/saints?lang=eng&cid=rdb_v_saints_eng, church history topics history.lds.org/, gospel topic essays www.lds.org/topics/essays?lang=eng, and churchofjesuschrist.org which houses all teachings from the church. The church and its members are good, honest people and I would never omit or lie to prospective members. The way she paints the church and its members is totally out of character.
“Your church is wrong. Your beliefs are an abomination to God. Your pastor is a hireling of Satan. Salvation is found only in our church. There is no way to achieve any form of salvation outside of the church.” This is not true. Especially the part about the pastor. Just not true. The church believes in an apostasy and restoration. www.lds.org/topics/apostasy?lang=eng#_
      www.mormon.org/site/jesus-christs-church/jesus-church-restored
“They will not tell you that they are wearing temple garments”.

      ruclips.net/video/5vvN4qJRBM0/видео.html
Although this is a sacred and personal practice, so it usually isn’t spoken of lightly and frequently.
“Temple garments are meant to protect against evil…YOU”. Nope, not you. Nothing like that is remotely taught. As you will see in the videos above, garments are an outward reflection of an inward commitment to God.
“They will not tell you about their temple rites at all.” Not true. See videos for example: ruclips.net/video/Fd8tVXN9y6Q/видео.html

“Familiar spirits are good and Book of Mormon has a familiar spirit.” I’m not even sure where this comes from. Members of the church believe in the Holy Ghost. www.lds.org/topics/holy-ghost?lang=eng
“Mormon women find salvation only through their husbands.” This is just not true. www.lds.org/topics/women-in-the-church?lang=eng
“Mormon women will be pregnant through all of eternity so they can populate planets.” Not true and not based in much of anything. This is designed by critics based on the idea that God intends for us to become like him. Creating and populating planets is as good as a description of heaven for members of the church as sitting on a cloud playing a harp is for other Christians. Its just not true.
“They intend to become Gods themselves one day.” “Heavenly Father over their own planet”. Heavenly Father over their own planet is not true. Intend to become Gods one day is spun in a half truth way. We believe that we are heirs to God, joint heirs with Christ as the Bible teaches. Here is a great article that would certainly help: www.lds.org/topics/becoming-like-god?lang=eng
“Exaltation is done through works and obeying the church.” Not true. We obey Christ’s commandments because of our love for him. By believing in Jesus and repenting of sins, we are saved by grace. All are saved by Christ in that every person will be resurrected and all are saved from Adam’s transgression. From the Book of Mormon: 2 Nephi 10:24 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; and remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved.
“They intend to have many wives in heaven, not just one.” No, I intend to have one. This claim comes from the polygamy practiced in the early church. You can read about that here: www.lds.org/topics/plural-marriage-in-the-church-of-jesus-christ-of-latter-day-saints?lang=eng
“God is one of infinite Gods out there.” Paul said this in the New Testament, but also said “but for us there is one God.”
That is our belief on this. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the one true God.
“They are polytheists” Not the case. I highly recommend listening to this talk to get a better understanding. www.lds.org/general-conference/2007/10/the-only-true-god-and-jesus-christ-whom-he-hath-sent?lang=eng
“They believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are three completely different Gods” Half truth. The scriptures teach that they are one God, but separate beings. This should be logical to anyone who has read the Bible. See the talk above for this as well.
“They will not tell you that you were once a spirit child of the pre-existence.” Of course we will! There is even a cool scroll graphic here: www.mormon.org/resources/plan-of-salvation
“Heavenly Father and his multiple wives populated the spirit world.” This is again a half truth. We don’t believe God has multiple wives. We do believe that we are children of God as taught by Jesus and the prophets.

“Baptism for the dead.” “Three levels of heaven”. These are true. Here are some resources: Baptisms for the dead ruclips.net/video/RzCSrMJhWeQ/видео.html What happens after we die?
      ruclips.net/video/5-futI4wQ_s/видео.html
“Virgin Mary was not a virgin at all. God came down and had sexual relations with her.” Not true. We believe as the scriptures say that she was a virgin.
“They have taught that Jesus had three wives and children of his own. Jesus was a polygomist according to Mormons.” Not true. All we know of Jesus’ life on earth is recorded in the New Testament.
“God is an exalted man and lives on a planet near the star Kolob”. Half truth. Joseph Smith believed God was an exalted man. Kolob is a metaphor in the scriptures for Christ. Kolob is described as the star being nearest to God and provides light to all of his creations. People spin it to sound weird and scare people away.
“Jesus was Lucifer’s brother.” True. All spirits were children of God.
“Heavenly council vote to determine Jesus or Lucifer as savior.” Not true. God presented his plan of salvation for his children. Lucifer and others rebelled against that plan and were cast out of heaven.
“There are over 100 divisions within mormonism.” I don’t know about this. There are different break off groups, but there is only one Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and those groups are not affiliated.
“They will not tell you that their scriptures contradict.” “Mormons will side with restoration scriptures over the Bible.” I don’t believe that the scriptures contradict, at least not in any significant way. The bible contradicts itself sometimes, but that is easily understood as it was written by different authors.
It might be fair to say members of the church will side with the Book of Mormon over the Bible, but I think more accurately is that they will side with their interpretation of the Bible over someone else’s interpretation of the Bible. All Christians do this.
“Not one scrap of archeological evidence for Book of Mormon.” Sort of. But what evidence would you expect? www.fairmormon.org/archive/publications/archaeological-evidence-and-the-book-of-mormon
“State of Utah has higher than national average abuse, suicide, etc.” This appeals to emotion. Many scientific studies have concluded that this has nothing to do with the church, and actually church attendance significantly decreases all of these categories.
“Joseph Smith was in the occult.” Just not true.
“Joseph Smith money digging” True, but out of context.
“Joseph Smith freemasonry” True, but out of context.
I really enjoyed this book as a biography of Joseph Smith: www.amazon.com/dp/B000XUBEZM/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1
“First vision accounts.” True. But these aren’t any more contradicting than the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are contradicting. Different emphasis and details in each telling. www.lds.org/topics/first-vision-accounts?lang=eng

I stopped opening my door until one day after receiving many phone text I said ok I will tell them what I truly think so they will stop coming, so I said I have many questions lets talk about it on an online meeting. On the online meeting I explained many things that you mentioned on the video that trying to become and be worshipped as God was Lucifer's sin and said this doctrine is a complete Blasphemy. It is sad that you believe what some people tell you.
This statement you made and what's her name made is inaccurate. You said:
"I explained many things that you mentioned on the video that trying to become and be worshipped as God was Lucifer's sin."
That was NOT Lucifer's sin!!! Lucifer's sin was that he did not like the Plan that the Father made. He wanted to send mankind to the earth and NOT give him free agency. He wanted to limit the agency that was given to him... therefore he promised NOT ONE SOUL WOULD BE LOST. And he would be the Savior.
And whereas Jesus said he would do the will of the Father... AND he would give the Glory that he would receive back to the Father.
Lucifer however, wanted to keep the Glory that would be given him for being the Savior.
When the Father chose Jesus to be the Savior... Lucifer rebelled and the war in Heaven began. There was 1/3 of all Father's children who had agreed with Lucifer's plan. And they wanted that plan. The other 2/3 wanted nothing to do with Lucifer's plan. And the battle began.
And of course we know what the results are.
So... you didn't have the story right. And you are perpetuating a lie and continue pass that lie around.
Lucifer was not interested in being worshiped like Father was worshiped. He was the one that wanted to be worshiped like Jesus would be worshiped. So you really got it all wrong!!!

Martha Beck confirmed true that many women back in Brigham Young's day would be so despondent over being kidnapped and forced to be a plural wife that they would climb to the top of the Salt Lake Temple and throw themselves into the Great Salt Lake.
Anyone who's even seen pictures knows that the Salt Lake temple isn't anywhere NEAR the great Salt Lake, and besides, it wasn't even finished yet when Brigham Young died.

Thank you for making this video. I grew up Mormon, and it's interesting to me how much I didn't even know about the Mormon church when I was there (which I think is because they were giving me the 'Christian' version of the Mormon church) and I think anyone saying you're lying or sound angry in this video (which you don't sound angry at all in my opinion) were probably fed the same watered down Mormonism I was also taught. A couple things to add that you didn't mention in this video are as follows:
The Book of Mormon also says that Jesus would be born in Jerusalem in Alma 7:10 if I remember right. (Though the Book of Mormon is the most famous and plagiarized fanfiction on earth so that is part of why there are parts that sound very similar to the Bible)
In Joseph Smith's translation of Exodus 33: 20, he disproves his entire religion by saying that no man has ever or will ever see the face of God and live. And this was the bible verse that made my dad leave the only religion he'd ever had in his life at that point. The verse is God talking to Moses in the burning bush and telling Moses that no man has ever seen the face of God and lived.
I had never seen a crucifix (or cross that someone was wearing) until I was in middle school when one of my older friends in the Mormon church told me that we don't focus on the sad and horrible injustice that happened to Jesus, we only focus on the happiness after.
I had actually watched The Passion of the Christ when it came out on DVD and it meant nothing to me, I didn't know who Jesus was, or what the movie meant at all, which looking back on all of it now just breaks my heart, especially now that I'm Catholic (which by the way, for anyone who wants to talk badly about the Catholic church, that's fine they have done horrible things no one's denying that (I actually found myself loving the Catholic Church even more because the second the Diocese I'm with received any reports of a Priest I know molesting young boys, they immediately took action, excommunicated him, and have asked if anyone has any more evidence to come forward - the Mormon Church, on the other hand, is still trying to say they've never done anything wrong) but remember the history while you cry about the books in the bible - you wouldn't have your bible at all without the Catholic Church who put it together first and then it was translated into other languages by Martin Luther (but he couldn't have translated it if there wasn't already an existing bible). The word Catholic, derived from the Greek, means "universal." meaning no matter where you are in the world, if you have a Roman Catholic Missile and are attending mass, you will know what the readings are no matter where you are in the world and can read the readings in your own language (sounds a lot like that verse talking about every nation, race, people, and tongue in Revelations).
Godan B. Hinkley said in General Conference that the Jesus Christ of the Mormon church is not the same as the Jesus Christ who saves from every sin that the Christians believe in.
When you said there are about a hundred different sects of Mormonism, my very first thought was "That seems like a low estimate."
Again, I wanted to say thank you for this video and for spreading the truth of what the Mormon church believes, not the lies they want the world to believe about themselves. I hope you never let the haters stop you from spreading the truth, because at the end of the day, it is the truth, and the truth can't be changed no matter how much they want it to.

    • @MrNirom1

@janessaburlingham2489 The Book of Mormon does NOT say that Jesus would be born in Jerusalem. Did you actually go and read Alma 7:10? Here, let me share it with you:
10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.
So... tell me... when you look at a map of Jerusalem... where is Bethlehem? From the center of Jerusalem to the center of Bethlehem it is 5.5 miles
If you were to look at the time period in the Book of Mormon that was being written about in Alma... you will see that it has been about 530 years earlier that Lehi had arrived in this new land. These people 530 years later never saw Jerusalem or Bethlehem. When they say AT Jerusalem... they were quite accurate never having seen a map of the Holy Land. But they were told where they came from.
The Jesus of the Christian world is a triune God. That means that they say the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are ONE God made of the same substance. That is NOT true. They are three distinct and individual beings. So Gordon B. Hinkley was right. Their understanding of Jesus is behind the times. They are trying to rectify the God of the Old Testament with the God of the New Testament. Before Jesus came to earth... the ONLY God they knew was called Jehovah. Then Jesus is born, grows up and he is telling people he is Jehovah. So if he is the God of the Old Testament... who is this God that is his Father? This was a problem for the Christians. They did not have any explanation but they now had more than ONE God. So 325 years after the death of Jesus... 326 of the Bishops got together and voted on the creation of who Jesus was in relationship to the Father. 2 of the Bishops did not agree and they were excommunicated from the Church. And what did they agree on??
That there is only ONE God... and they are all made of the same substance. The Christian world states: There is but one only living and true God, who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts, or passions.
We do NOT believe the same way the Christian world does. We know more than they do. We have been given more light and knowledge. And yet... like in the time of Christ... people rejected the further light and knowledge that Jesus gave to the Jews.

The point about the missionaries not discussing every detail of our church history but you have to agree that these are young people in their late teens or early twenties trying to teach the gospel do you truly expect them to be Church historians? They usually are in a 6-week cycle in the area where they are preaching the gospel they like yourself go to church Sunday school priesthood Relief Society Etc and are taught the fundamentals of the Gospel. and sadly to say most people do the minimum of what they should do Would you not agree? a lot of these subjects truly do not pertain to our Salvation would you not agree? Like many people even numbers of the church where where we are encouraged to seek out all things that are good and true we still become intellectually lazy to some extent and really do not seek out the things that may help us understand all things thankfully the church in recent years have tried to have one place for members to seek out this information in one place Yes I may be that exception and doing my research but let me tell you a little bit about my conversion experience at a very young age I've always wanted learn about God and his plan for me an my parents were not really that religious but they believed that Jesus Christ was their Redeemer and encouraged my sister and myself to go to different denominations When We Were Young with our friends I would ask questions of the the ministers such as why did I read one thing in the Bible and they ie when I asked about the relationship between Jesus Christ and his father and the Holy Ghost when I read the Bible it was clearly known to me that they were three different individuals with one purpose in mind they would tell me that it was decided a long time ago by a group of men that basically Define their beliefs even then I thought it was very confusing it just did not seem correct to me. in my teens I came across the pamphlet The Plan of Salvation I read it and was very interested I actually sought out missionaries so I could talk to them when they explain there belief in the godhead and the belief of pre-existence which I believed in this concept even though I did not know what it meant or what it was called I believe since my early age did I was somehow separated from God and why I would I feel that way if I was never in his presence before I would wonder. Before I was going to be baptized people found out about this and started to give me all this negative material about the church even after reading these things all I can do I was prey to my heavenly father and ask him to let me know what I should do here I am over 40 years since I joined the church and my testimony of the restored gospel is stronger than ever . and I find it very odd that Jess agrees with your statement after you saying that the information I provided was true this absolutely confirms that she has an agenda for whatever reason to put out misleading videos
