Got the 1st App of Cable for a STEAL!!! Comic Book Haul

I have been loving the Disney + series X-Men '97. It has caused me to go back and re-read or read for the first time a lot of the Chris Claremont stories from the late 70s and early 80s. They are well written with amazing character development. With that being said, I need to go back and buy a bunch of these, because I purged most of my collection in 2023 to move towards bigger grails for my personal collection.
In a world of comic book investing, comic book speculation, FOMO after any new announcement and just spending money on the top 10 list garbage, I am focused on buying key comic books to build an incredible comic book collection 5 books at a time. If you just had these 5 books in your collection you would have a pretty cool eye catching collection in my opinion. These books can be expensive, but if you come up with a plan on how to save up for these you can achieve them. They can also be affordable as well. Cool keys do not have to be expensive keys. Foundational Comic Books is a phrase I came up with to describe Universally Recognizable Key Issues. These are comics books that will increase the overall appeal and value of your collection on a broad basis. Obviously you want to collect what you like, but there are a lot of influential people that will tell you to buy 'Hot Books of the week'. Those comic books are fine, but they might not be recognizable to everyone or increase the value of your collection long term. Be weary when it comes to anyone telling you what you should buy.

Nice finds Alex! Thanks for sharing. I miss the local shows in St. Louis. When I lived there in the mid-2010’s, I always went to the Shrewsbury show, as well as Project Comic Con and Wizard World. Speaking of St. Louis artists, I struck up a “friendship” with Chris Samnee through the business and, before I moved, we had talked about him doing a mural in my comic book room. Oh, I miss those days. 🙏
