- A look back at the highlights of 2024 on the Severn Valley Railway.
The Flying Pig made its final trip during the Winter Gala, as (for a little while at least - or so at thought), did Taw Valley - until it was called on to act as a last minute stand in for the Spring Gala. Blue Peter came to the railway for testing, and a lovely selection of tank engines visited for the Spring Gala.
A smaller than normal flat put in excellent service over the summer, ensuring events ran smoothly. Lady of Legend came along to help for a while, and was joined by Bahamas and Black Five 44932 at the Autumn Gala.
The onset of Winter saw the festive services begin, which even Storm Darragh could not stop!
Wonderful memories 😊
2024 was a good year 🙂
wonderful memories indeed 😊
It was a good year. Let’s hope that the railway can overcome this slippage issue and have a good 2025 as well.
A great year for the railway, plenty of great galas and some fantastic visitors. Lady of Legend was probably my favourite visitor overall, but 44932 and Bahamas were also fantastic.
Certainly looking forward to 2025, and especially Bradley Manor's return to service 👍
Yes, I fully agree about Lady of Legend. I think it’s a beautiful loco - shame it can’t be based on the SVR! Looking forward to seeing Bradley Manor again -one of the regulars when I moved to the area, but sad about Erlestoke leaving!
Thank you for this excellent video.
You’re welcome, glad you enjoyed it and thankyou for taking the time to leave a comment 🙂👍
Hello my friend, I have just discovered your fantastic photo. It is beautiful to look at, absolutely brilliant. I think the locomotives with their trains, the photo spots, the landscapes and the views of the hustle and bustle at the stations are excellent. You did a better job than a professional. Best wishes, Wolfgang 👍👍👍😊
Aww, Thankyou Wolfgang that’s very kind. Lots of good memories from the past year at the railway, I thought they deserved to be collated together into a short video 🙂
@ I agree. Summarize all the particularly beautiful moments👍
Nice Memories🎉🎉🎉
They are! It’s so good having this right on my doorstep ☺️

😀👍
Beautiful video and I love the camera angles and high definition. You should be a cinematographer for films and TV productions. You could also point out the many continuity errors to them as well that we see so often such as BR grey moquette in trains set in the1940s. I've also always loved coaches too and would like to try many of those old ones, much of the 3rd Class being more comfortable than our modern 1st Class.
Thankyou, that’s very kind! Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂👍
